  1. I'm thinking a hydraulic tubing bender or a Miller Maxstar 150 S compact stick welder or Festool track saw.
  2. i started at a vocational school for base knowledge and then just kept working at it. I welded the cage in my Mustang. It was a JOB!!!! Turned out nice though.....
  3. Prowler I made for our gym. Fighters worst nightmare. Everybody pukes during a training session with this thing........
  4. Looking good Frankie!!! You hit the Dyno yet?? That Candy blue is awesome. I know all about the blood, sweat and tears. I spent more than a few nights catching a few hours sleep in my '82 Mustang and then heading right back to work while I was building it.
  5. Holy crap!!!! Nicely done conductor. I thought I had allot of tools.........
  6. I've been using a Toughbuilt bag from Menards for about 6 months now and it works great. I think I remember it being under 20 bucks. I can carry a 12v impact, hammer drill combo, batteries, charger and sneak a case of bits in there as well.
  7. These are some drum smokers I have made the last couple of years. Kinda have a BBQ habit......
  8. There is something inside some us, not all but some of us blue collar or not that drives us to not settle. To go out and get it. To not stand still, to keep moving forward no matter what. Above Chrisk is a living example of that. I respect and admire people like that.
  9. In a thread awhile back I was talking about my wife setting me up on "play dates" with her girlfriends mostly white collar husbands and how it never works........ These guys talk about still paying student loans, not getting what they were lead to believe they were going get salary wise, not being able find a job in there niche. Then they start talking about there big cookie cutter house, fancy car and fancy vacations. Then comes the question................ and what do you do. it's funny cause after I tell them I'm a regional Maintenance manager for a large chemical company they kind of question how I have what I have. In the interest of not embarrassing my wife I bite my tongue. However.... I have got to where I'm at from hard ass work. I don't feel entitled by any schooling i have received. I live with in my means and don't have 12 credit cards almost maxed out to maintain my "lifestyle", I get up before most and am still working well after they have headed home. I and many other fellow blue collar brothers have earned skills that will allow to work and have a career as long as we want to. With out a doubt, I think there is a sense of white collar workers are better than blue collar workers. That's fine just give me a call when your furnace won't work, your family is freezing and you have no idea where to even begin. Sorry for the rant, Mikes video was great and struck a chord with me I guess. i know everybody is not like this, but I seem to run into a bunch of them....
  10. Happy Birthday Conductor!!! That puller set is awesome. I really like the pins to hold the puller arms on the yoke rather than having the nuts and bolts.
  11. When we have to work on rooftop exhaust fans or HVAC units is a joke because of all the shit, it's everywhere. DNC came through a few years ago just to let us know what would happen if anybody messed with (big $$$$$ fines). Had one sneak up behind me last year while I was working on a door and bite me in the ass.
  12. So, I'm busy as heck at one of my plants this past Friday. I just get done welding up a part for one of the conveyors and I here a large pop like a stick of dynamite or some thing. At the same time the power goes out. I figure a trans former blew. Out the shop I go to check the pole mounted transformers and they are ok. I walk out to our drive and a couple of poles down I see to fuses hanging on the main feed coming in from the power provider. That would indicate a phase to phase short, not good. I then notice a goose dead on the side of the drive. Under closer examination this SOB must have flew into the lines and shorted the two phases. It was kind of blown apart and had some burnt feathers. Luckily I found the culprit because if I hadn't Com Ed would of had to send a transformer crew out to fully test the transformers before reconnecting power and that would of had the plant down till Monday. Had the power back up in two hours though and we didn't lose too much production time. I'll try and post some picks. Never tried before........
  13. I've been drooling over the Jokers for about two months now. I really like the nut capture feature but as already mentioned the price is a bit high. I'm sure I'll talk myself into buying them at some point. I think I need a support group or something.
  14. I only have the wire strippers and I love them. A side from the kit you linked I also have 4 different versions of their slip joint pliers and the needle nose pliers. All get pretty much daily use and are nicely made tools.
  15. Well, now I feel cheated by my crapsman boxes. This tool addiction of mine has my triple stack busting at the seams. I'll have to keep an eye open for a sale at Harbor Freight. I'd like to pick up a bottom like that and a top to match.
  16. I just picked up some Kleins. There pretty nice but I agree with conductor the wiha's are pretty cool.....
  17. I have had the GearWrench set you linked for about 6 months and it's worked well so far. However I was at Sears recently and saw their set and to me it looks pretty stout. I'm sure Conductor will be by at some point. He's really knowledgeable with the different hand tool brands and where they are now made etc.........
  18. Wait...... there was a tool in there???
  19. I was wondering where you have been........
  20. That's flipping funny right there! To tell you the truth the TS55 is what's really on my mind. That thing is awesome!! Thanks for the laughs man. I worked the past three weeks with no days off 12-14 hours a day. Three different projects in two different states and today I come home to sick wife and daughter. Not complaining that's what men do.
  21. Man, you guys are bad for my pocket book! I think I'm going to have to pickup some Festool additions to my arsenal. Every time someone post about buying something from them I get closer to making the plunge.... Congrats ChrisK.
