  1. My HVAC guy went from a veto to the Klein back pack and though it does appear to be holding up well he is disapointed by it not being able to stand up on its own when set down,
  2. OK, that's like tool porn or something........
  3. I find myself reaching for that jig saw more than I do my corded Bosch. I bought it thinking it would be something that might get me out of a jam at some point.......
  4. I've had luck with the Kiazen foam from Fastcap.
  5. Funny you mention getting to ride on the train and the effect it had on you. Last year we had a bunch of snow and I was out clearing the rail switches that are on our property. One of the BNSF guys yelled over and asked if I could help them with there's outside our fence line. Of course I was willing to help, grabbed my weed burner and propane tank and trekked out there. After I was done I started the long walk back to our property. They said hop on. Coolest thing ever!!!! I stil jump on and visit with them if I have time. Nothing like standing outside on the stairs on a train engine....
  6. I'm the first person to work for a chemical company. Both my brothers work with there hands though. One works on bank safes and the other does construction. They have more of a 9-5 M-F schedule.though. They think I'm crazy for the hours I work. Call outs at all hours of the night....... Due to the wonderful cold weather here in the Midwest I came in with another one of my guys to get the Semi's running and keep them running all night. The plan was to stay till midnight and then go home get some sleep and be back at 6 AM. Com ED had another plan for us, multiple power outages last night. I'm headed to my truck now to try and get some sleep.
  7. Regional Maintenance manager for a chemical company. Some office work but still on the tools everyday.
  8. Another vote for Veto Pro here........ Yes they are expensive, however I was going through the husky bags at least once a year. Torn pockets and such. I've had my Veto for over four years now and it is still just as good as when I bought it plus I've never been as organized. All my guys have them now as well. I am a regional maintenance manager for a large chemical company in the midwest and am not easy on my tool bag.
  9. I have both the M12 jig saw and the hackzall. They are both great tools. I would say I reach for the hackzall far more though.
  10. Another vote for dewalt! I have bought a bunch of Milwaukee's M12 line over the last few months and am very pleased with them.
  11. I just used a subs (Milwaukee) cordless Portaband and am now in love. I think I read DeWalt has one and would like to go that route since all my other full size cordless tools are DeWalt 18V. Has anybody put any time in behind this saw in the field??
  12. I've had good luck with Rigids 4 Gal. portable wet dry vac. I believe it's model WD4070. It has a muffler you can buy for a little bit more money that makes it pretty quiet. As far as the blower feature it usually consists of removing the hose and putting it in the exhaust port, on this vac it's moves quite a bit of air and could be used for blowing dust off of stuff I suppose if you don't have an air compressor. I hardly use that option though.
  13. Has anyone used one yet?? Not sure if it's out yet. I have allot of the M12 line and am really pleased with their performance. My latest purchase was the drill/hammer drill. I used it all day yesterday setting pipe hangers in block and concrete (Tapcons). The size made it less of a pain climbing a 12' ladder 4,000 times.
  14. Too funny! Westmont, Downers Grove area. I agree Berlands is a great store. Not sure my wife would agree though!
  15. Thanks toolman! I've only been on the site a few weeks and already it's proved to be really helpfull!
  16. UPDATE: They don't have one. I checked the website and it appears that they don't offer it any longer???
  17. I do not. I'll see if I can get my hands on one though! I use to know a guy that worked at Berlands house of tools here in the Chicagoland area. Maybe they would be willing to lend one out to me???
  18. I haven't used the badger clamp before but I'm going to order one. It looks to be a nice addition to my tool kit since I work alone allot.
  19. OK, I know they fit but I was looking at the Battery while at HD and it appears that the "foot" on the new drill is much smaller than that on my older model. Is this correct?? The reason I ask is I'm concerned about stuff getting snagged on the extra plastic of my old drill or it breaking off during the normal small drops and falls that can occasionally occur.
  20. I was curious about the 12v rotary tool Milwaukee is suppose to have out soon. I have a bunch of the other M12 tools and so far I am pleased with their performance.
  21. The cases are a great product and fits in the extra storage compartment for my 18v hammer drill/ drill combo.
  22. I have a Veto Pro LC and will never buy any other tool bag! Tools are lways accessible and can be found easily. My guys have finally seen the value of this bag as well, 3 out of 4 are now sporting XL's. I did notice recently that they offer a laptop bag as previously stated. I would highly recomend you purchasing one of their bags regardless if you would need another bag for your laptop.
