  1. Yep. There's a new open tote ToughSystem box, modelnr. DWST1-76554. Doesn't seem to have a DS... number like the others. Decent pictures are still scarce online, but here's one There is also a ToughSystem organizer. This was already launched here the previous quarter, but seems to be available now. DWST1-75522 ToughSystem Radio is also launched here, but, at least in Holland, ships next month.
  2. Will be a while before I have a job to use it extensively. I did some testshots ofcourse. First thing, it's lighter than the old one (DC618). I would say the weight-to-size is near perfect. Maybe it's because I have 2.0Ah batteries on there. Also, it's faster. The motor spins up faster. Couldn't compare it side by side because I gave away my DC618 a couple weeks ago. Also it's a bit more quieter. Shoots faster too. You can really bump fire the hell out if, but I mainly use single shot. It's a finish nailer after all. Other advantages over the old model are a better belthook. The old plastic one was just shitty. Now there's a metal one. Better lights although I will have to test this in dim light conditions. They are positioned on the base and not above the nosepiece like the old one. Easier depth adjustment with a little scale so it's easier to dial it in. So far I'm very happy with it.
  3. On a plus, with 2 hoses you don't need to switch out the end pieces anymore if you wanna use the on-board accessories.
  4. Another user said the end piece isn't glued. That was not entirely true. Mine was glued, but only so little. Too bad you tore yours. I think you'll have to buy that as a part: Hose Assembly #5140128-68, $14,89 http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail/DCV581H
  5. The long wait is finally over Must admit, in the pictures it looks more bulky than in reality. Has a good feel to it. It's a sweet bit of kit. So hey, where's the 18gauge... As for the compact charger. I now have one. Didn't know the D2 kit comes with this charger. If I had known this upfront I would've got the P2 kit (5.0Ah) One positive thing though, it has hang holes on the bottom, something it's bigger brother is missing.
  6. I locked the slides so that it only extracts halfway, like in the 2nd picture above. It's better now, but still I'm not happy. Also because now I carry extra weight that is not used. I've made a backplate with a cutout for the powerbrick. Think I will remove the platform and slides and just put the backplate in there. Less complicated, lighter in weight and better protection from the elements for the powerbrick...
  7. Well, I'm making things too complicated. Put the sliding platform in. Measurements? Ok! Execution? Ok! Operation? Terrible! The slides are nice. Nothing heavy. They can only hold 45kg, but for a little platform for some tools that is enough. It's just when fully extracted there is this horrible sideways play. I don't get it. Maybe I should've used different slides... I'm thinking of just locking the slides so that it only extracts halfway. There is still some play but not as much when fully extracted. They are push-to-open slides so when in the closed position it holds the platform so it won't slide out on it's own. Anyway, this is it so far... stupid f*7#ing thing. It's not even done and I hate it already The black spacers between the brackets and table are just temporary. Getting some decent spacers tomorrow.
  8. The compact charger has been around for a while, but I've never seen it in a kit tbh. It's not really meant for 4.0 and 5.0Ah batteries. Ofcourse you can charge them, but it takes a long time. It's aimed at the compact batteries afaik.
  9. Cheers guys! The idea came from Rossi7x though! That would be nice Chris. Good one! Perhaps with some extra supports than can be positioned on top. I might look into that later... I'm constantly altering it though, doing this, maybe that... I was about to screw that powerbrick underneath, a cordwrap and be done... Now I added some slides underneath for another platform where the powerbrick sits somewhat flush with the surface so I can access it from the top, rather than from the back. This will also give me extra space to store stuff like my radio, but then I had the idea to add 2 little hooks to the underside of the stand, so I can hang my radio there and keeping valuable space. I'll post some new pics soon. I just added the aluminum rails underneath on which I bolted the slides. Lots of measuring and stuff, because there's other stuff to be mounted and I have little space to play with. But it seems to work out and it keeps me busy ha
  10. I think the DWV9000 is what you need. You put this on your hose and the AirLock connector attaches directly to the sander. That adapter is meant for a 1-1/4" hose which is the same as the 581H has. You have to remove the endpiece though that is currently on the hose, but you can just unscrew it.
  11. Check his out. Dan and Eric talked about it...
  12. No idea, but black looks better imho. Or they could've made a yellow one
  13. I was hoping for these to be smaller than what they have in the US, but it looks the same apart from the colorscheme?! Don't get me wrong; they are durable and pretty comfortable, but way too bulky for my liking. I bought 2 sets from the US last year or so. From the set I am using now I just cut off the nail pouches (the smaller pouches on the outside) as it was just too wide, but still too bulky for me. Haven't been able to find a good sized replacement yet. Toughbuilt seems nice, but they don't sell it anywhere near here so can't try them without buying them. And the thought of wearing all that orange is horrific.
  14. Cheers. I've seen that version too. Thought about it, but I like the PVC model better. Mainly also because of the lack of space underneath due to the charger (and I have some black PVC coming in tomorrow). Have some other ideas as well for a support to place my radio. This is turning into a project and all I wanted was a little surface to throw some small tools that otherwise sit on (and repeatedly fall off) the miter stand itself...haha...
  15. Thanks for looking! I tried it out a few days ago, but already agreed with 76 being too big I got the table ready, just adding some stuff. I've settled on a different method though so I have more usable 'work' space. Gonna make 2 of these and screw them underneath the table... This is the table so far...
  16. Never thought about that. That is an easy solution. Though like you said, you can't connect the on-board accessories directly and it's a bit of a pain to keep turning it on and off. Still in the market for a 902M...sometime.
  17. Ah, there's Mr. Red That is one sweet charging station. For the jobsite I would change the wheels though
  18. Correct. The cordless vacs don't have airlock so you'll need an adapter.
  19. Finally started to make a work table for my miter stand. Waiting for a 4-way powerblock to come in which will be mounted underneath near the back. This way I can power the 2-way charger that's mounted underneath, the mitersaw and still have some available sockets for different tools. First I was thinking to drill 2 holes near the front edge to park my drill/driver and impact, but I think I will go with the PCV cubbies that I've seen people using so I could hang them under the table and have more space left for other stuff. Ordered some black PVC. Might go with aluminum in the end if I'm satisfied with that setup.
  20. Quoting myself as I just ran into the BullseyeBore which helps to drill straight. (alignment demo) (depth demo) Their website says: "A different version of BullseyeBore (not pictured) is ubiquitously integrated into a standard drill chuck. In this version, the lasers, optics and electronics become part of the chuck itself. This version can be incorporated seamlessly into a power tool manufacturer’s standard power drill designs, or provided as a simple OEM chuck replacement." DeWALT take note!
  21. I did notice a familiar van. Looking good! Nice job on the video as well.
  22. Yup, I've seen it. Already on my phone, but not a darn bluetooth battery in sight
  23. Jules, I am making a work table for my miterstand, but wondered what size holes you drilled to hold your impact driver and drill?
  24. Is the new Open Tote Toughsystem box listed in the printed ebrochure? And Toughsystem Radio? My DeWALT rep said the bluetooth batteries will come next month indeed.
