  2. Our local Sears store is clearing out more Milwaukee stuff.......the only thing left are M12 XC batteries they want $44.99 each for them are they worth getting or should a guy pay $79 for XC 4.0? I got a couple for $29 a few months back but they changed the price......
  3. Wife gets the flu shot every year.......= sick every year along with a sore arm for 2-3 days...... I haven't got flu shot in about 6 years.....= haven't been sick go figure.....but just wait when I do get sick I'm a 200lb suck!
  4. you got that right there will always be old tools, in fact the brand new tools ya bought just last week will become the old tools eventually, problem is these old tools are out lasting the people that had the knowledge to use them. Some old tools look like it would take forever to do a job with .....but some times it's because you don't know how to use them properly...... There a lot of tools we come across that you just don't have a clue on what they are or do unless you see them being worked with from the tradesman of their time. I personally had a chance to work with some old timers the real old school guys that their conversations amongst themselves where damn near a different language... and could pump out some outstanding work......and to think you look at their little tool box and think what? you did that with just those tools.........lol so if ya think the tools today are expensive, can you imagine what the cost would be if these tool companies could sell knowledge like these old school guy are taking with them when they pass away....
  5. working on a couple more ....

  9. thought I'd post a couple pics of some old tools I have hanging around the shop for many years.... the ol Stanley Yankee driver works like new no need for batteries...(runs on coffee) and a soldering iron that can melt steel damn near.....
  10. Because it is a larger than normal pedestal 10" and has the claw feet, I'm gonna build a poker table for it but with a black ash table top with 3" sides to go over top when not in use so it will look like a dining table and then a poker table when the top is off....
  11. I'm always looking for something to refinish, refurbish, recycle.......so the other day a neighbor was going to take this to the dump because it was all scratched up and had some paint in places .....I say I could put that to good use....he say take it........ well after a couple hours of sanding and a few coats of polly you would think it was brand new......my neighbor comes by and says.....Damn.........lol sorry forgot to take a before pic but I can tell you it didn't look like this.......

  16. way back my father was a boss/owner of a construction company, When I was a kid I remember asking him how does he decide who to hire?....he says he would take a hammer and flip it in his hand, handle to handle......and would ask "can you do that?" .......and if they said YES he would say.....sorry don't need guys like you!.......

  20. thanks to all, how long does it take to make? kinda hard to say for sure as I am usually building more than 1 at a time.......in saying that I will go out to the shop in the morning and cut 6 bases and then the next day cut 4 rails and then the next day go out and get nothing done because 3 buddies stopped by for coffee....lol....seriously I guess I could make a table start to finish in less than a day if need be but that isn't going to happen

I think you were to easy on him, he will not learn nothing from practically a free pass.......he is obviously not ready to be in business and it will show soon enough, time management is one problem, running late to each client means rushing, rushing usually means sloppy work and or mistakes to many of those and that spells OUT OF BUSINESS.......
  24. this is the biggest moving thing I have seen, and trust me when I say it looks bigger in person........
