  1. I'll bet it was special order returned or canceled and Lowes had to key in the model number manually and messed up. I can find that item # in Lowes system.
  2. The Porter Cable and DeWalt look almost identical though. Maybe Lowes mixed up model numbers.
  3. This is the only 30 Gallon DeWalt I found. http://www.dewalt.com/tools/compressors-wheeled-portable---electric-dxcmla1983054.aspx
  4. That model number doesn't pull up ANYTHING. It's keeps redirecting me to a Portable cable 30 gallon compressor.
  5. Black and yellow foam... Sweet. A little pricey though. May have to stick with black and white. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008CS7Z7I/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?qid=1429812354&sr=8-13π=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=kaizen+foam
  6. The 40V blower is awesome! I've been using it for almost a couple months. It's powerful, ergonomic, well balanced and super easy to use.
  7. Awesome. Sub floors & roofing would be bad ass.
  8. I'm pretty sure that's NOT what I'm saying. Its centered on the studs with nail plates on the stud with proper slack secured to the end of the run before it goes into the boxes. So it's not really much different that if 1/2" gypsum was over it. There's ~3/4 - 1" of spray foam in front. Only difference I see is if someone goes to drive a nail or screw in that area, there won't be anything to grab and they'll move up or down accordingly.
  9. I have some finished pics. That's all. I'll try to upload tomorrow.
  10. California Patch I believe it's called. It would have been tough to do on a 2" x 6' non square cutout. It actually had a slight curve the way I cut it out. Scribing would have taken forever.
  11. I recently cut a channel in the drywall in my laundry room about 2" wide over 6' long to reroute the electrical. I wasn't sure of which method I would use to patch it and didn't really think through the process. Well, I was using a can of DAP spray foam elsewhere and I realized I had over half a can left and that stuff doesn't store well after initial use so I decided to carefully fill the drywall in to create a backing for joint compound. I didn't completely full the wall, but I troweled it just right to give some support for the joint compound and I gotta say, it's better than anything else I may have used before. It grabs the gypsum nicely, provides great support and took the joint compound MUCH better than I imagined. I had a spot or two that expanded more than I anticipated but I let it dry and with a sharp knife, cut a shallow V groove into the foam to make room for joint compound. I think I have a new favorite method for certain drywall patches.
  12. I've just been informed that the other item in my order is still 4+ weeks out. Pretty irritated rigt now.
  13. It was only two items this order. I've emailed them before and his average reponse time has been nearly 72 hours if I recall correctly. Once was to check availability and I know that was over 3 business days response time.
  14. Not feeling all warm and fuzzy about ToolNut. This is only my second order and I am 12 days out with only 1/2 of my order. The items all note "ships from manufacturer in 24-48 hours."
  15. I was looking at this right before you posted. Very interesting.... I like.
  16. I may just have to take back my original statement. I've heard some rumors that there is some pretty innovative R&D going on at DeWalt right now. It's still clearly in R&D so it may never materialize, but I'm pretty impressed. Unfortunately, I can't mention specifics, but from my understanding, they're trying to make tools much much "smarter."
  17. Update: I came across some great ideas on FOG and YouTube. So I've decided to custom build one. I found a very reasonable shop in Houston with a CNC router. I drew up a preliminary plan for a MFT top laid out to imperial measurements and will probably begin building next week. I'm planning to have it somewhere around 32" x 96". So, if anyone in the Houston area wants a MFT Top, I'll tell you a 32" x 96" sheet all routed out is far less that a Standard MFT/3 Top from Festool. <$100 vs $150+
  18. All valid points.... Maybe it's the "leaked photos" of prototypes that have me hyped with very long release times. 20v Finish 20v Miter To name two off hand.
  19. Topics and new threads seem to be down for DeWalt Here on TIA. Not to mention the lack of DeWalt tool videos from Eric & Dan..... What's the deal? They plan on releasing anything new anytime soon? Getting bored with my tools. Time for some new toys.
  20. I get all the Event emails and check the events calendar on DeWalt.com frequently. Bosch is touring Houston this week and next. I checked out their booth up in Conroe this morning. Very disappointed. Nothing like what they're marketing on their site.

    MFT/3??

So I'm in the process of cleaning out my garage to set up a wood shop and one of my ideas is to get an MFT/3 table for my DeWalt track saw to do cross cuts of larger stock. But I can't bring myself to spend $600+ dollars. Does anyone know of a custom setup that someone has built to get reproducible 90 degree cross cuts? The DeWalt saw fits a Festool track so it would be compatible. I love the hinged bracket on the table to get a fast setup and cut each and every time.
  22. Just some shirts, glasses and an 18V drill/driver. It was merely market research to see what kind of tools were are using and how we are using them.
  23. Just had the accessories team visit one of our jobs. One guy was from Europe and the other was from IL. They're driving the country doing research to further the accessories.
  24. I just used a $50 off $250 purchase and got it for $229. Considering the first gen table was around $800 and a quality drill with the K4 jig can run upwards of $300, that's a steal! It accommodates micro and HD bits as well. I'm getting ready to rebuild my fence and since I have a surplus of KREG HD screws, I may give this a shot and secure the rails to the posts using pocket holes.
