  1. The CT kit is up on the HD site for $229 usd. No idea when it'll actually be in stock to order though.
  2. Wear and tear isn't covered, which is why the shop said it was wear and tear so they wouldn't have to submit it to Milwaukee for reimbursement and they could just charge me directly. The point I was getting at was that a bolt doesn't twist off through normal wear and tear when it's only four months old and has been used less than a dozen times.
  3. The charge time is just one problem. The size required for a 9 AH 60v pack would be roughly 5x the size of the current battery. Next try to imagine how to get the heat out of all those cells under load. I'm pretty sure that sort of power is going to require a significant advance in density before it sees the light of day.
  4. I was checking out Lowes today for some lumber when I saw the stack of backpack blowers. I've been seriously contemplating a BR600, so I figured I'd check to see how the big box models stack up. What I saw on the spec sheet was insane. The Husqvarna 360Bt says that it moves 890 CFM. That's embarrassingly more powerful than the mac daddy of the Stihl world that comes in at a paltry 677 CFM. Sure the Husqvarna will probably leave you deaf at 97 decibels, but the sheer amount of air that it moves will at least leave a smile on your face while you're losing you hearing. Does anyone have any experience with this blower? Is it really almost a 900 CFM machine. The specs seem so far above the Stihl, that my skepticism isn't letting me believe it.

That'd be a great deal if I could use a 3x large as anything other than a tent. I'd need to hit the gym or the pizza or both to bulk up seriously to pull off that size.
  6. Actually Milwaukee has both 16 and a 15 gauge angled finish nailers. The 16g angled is the 2742 and the 15g is the 2743.
  7. Ok fine. Be that way. Make me spend even more on tools. I don't have a 15g finish nailer yet...
  8. Any idea how large and heavy the SCMS is? The one time I did have to send it back, I had to go hunting for cardboard heavy enough to hold it and then build a box out of an old refrigerator box. Wedging it in so that it didn't move around was another joyful task. I think the whole assembly was almost 100 lbs when all was said and done. I didn't want to do that again.
  9. So if there is a 16g straight and a 16g angled finish nailer available, when would you ever really use a straight? I know why you use an angled, but other than cheaper nails, are there any advantages to straight?
  10. My experience with eService has been fantastic. My experience with third party authorized service centers however... not quite as good. The on time that I've had the misfortune to use it was when the knob on the slide locking bolt on my six month old sliding miter saw sheared off. I brought it to the service center, which was thankfully only 10m from my house. They kept it for three weeks to drill out the damned thing and then charged me almost $100 for the work and the replacement part, because they said that it wasn't covered.... because shearing off a hand tightened 1/4" bolt is normal wear and tear for a saw that's been used less than 20 times.
  11. I've actually got one of these chargers. I can say from experience that it is really, really slow. It can take two days to charge up a 4.0 battery pack. Maybe Milwaukee doesn't want to put out a produce that takes that long to charge.
  12. Posting pics seems to fail from the mobile web interface (iPhone using chrome) but uploading pics does seem to work from tapatalk now.

I'm not really even sure what it does, but it's a hell of a deal for someone that needs one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. That was fast! I don't suppose you're sitting on a ProPEX kit too?
  15. My dewalt 20v OMT has spoiled me for other brands OMT. The grip is so much smaller and easier to hold than the Milwaukee equivalent.
  16. Reading the reviews, it looks like people are generally happy if they can charge them. There may be issues with working with all Dewalt chargers. Personally, I'd stay away from aftermarket batteries in any tool that's under warranty. Lithium ion tool nowadays have computers inside of them that will rat you out if you use an off branded battery. You can usually find good deals on batteries with kits or as bonuses to get them cheaper than full retail.
  17. Now what would be funny is if your wife won and she made you you fold laundry for a month (or insert other spouse chore) to trade for it!
  18. The M18 circular saw kits come with a contractor bag, not a hard case. I've got mine stashed in a metal box from the 10" circular saw. It fits well in there if you can track one down.
  19. As a "plug into the wall and insert your batteries" type of charger, you're probably right. However, it would be entirely possible to come up with some hardware inside of the power source that would let it take in power from the USB port in addition to discharging power. This is how external batteries for phones work and they certainly don't have to have a large box attached to them. Done correctly, you could then charge your M12 batteries from any USB power source in your car or from a phone type charger, both of which are very compact and easy to find anywhere.
  20. I think there may be a bidding war on the flashlight if you were to do that.
  21. And there was much rejoicing! Thanks for the work in getting it done. Has the guy you hired given any thought as to why the unread blue bars no longer show up on the Forums view? The blue bars are there on the individual posts, but there's no indication that a forum/sub-forum has any unread posts. It used to do it before the big software upgrade. thanks again.
  22. I really hope this fixes the problem with Tapatalk not recognizing new articles too. I miss that feature from before the big software conversion.
  23. My guess is that they always wanted to sell it for 299, but intro-ed it higher figuring anyone that really wanted to jump on the bandwagon would buy it at the higher price and then not bother to come back for a price adjustment refund. Pure speculation, though.
  24. I never thought about that as an option. For jobsites, I imagine the cheaper the better, since it has a good chance of getting whacked around and damaged. I've actually been eyeballing an EZSmart system for home. A lot cheaper than a SawStop/Reaxx and just about as good for repeat cuts.
