I saw the blower tonight in the depot and came really close to taking one home. The problem is that I've already got a gas hand held blower that can't blow wet leaves, I technically don't need a battery operated one too. That plus I've got my eye on the Dewalt OPE for the trimmer and the chainsaw. Next time...

To help clarify the debate, or maybe just to add fuel to the fire, I took a picture of the battery slot on my 2604 next to the battery slot on the stand light. They are identical. Now, I'm not saying that there aren't electronic differences to allow the stand light to take better advantage of a 9.0 battery or that it won't work better with a large pack, but mechanically they seem to be the same.

I've got a Sthil hand held and, while it's nice, it just doesn't have the cojones to move large piles of wet leaves. As much as I realy want the Dewalt backpack, I think that I need to step up to a 600 for the CFM/velocity.

I think that chart is showing you which tools you'll see a significant benefit. The sawzall doesn't eat batteries for lunch such that a super high cap battery will change your experience significantly. The SDS-MAX+ or the stand light go through batteries like crazy, so the higher cap battery is worth the expense / weight. I'm sure you could stick the 9.0 on the M18 LED light or the USB charger and it would work, but those tools already last so long, it's not going to be worth the effort. I also suspect that the 9.0 will really be best paired with the rapid charger. The legacy charger will just take forever to fill it up.

I don't know - the motor is probably pretty heavy and up front and you have the knob up top. My complaint would be that the handle looks a bit thick. The grip area of the M18 OMT is huge in comparison to the Dewalt 20v and just a lot harder to hold on to if you don't have gigantic hands.

Europe has had the M18 miter saw and jigsaw for some time I believe. I didn't know that they also had an M18 die grinder too. I'm hoping we get Fuel versions of these this summer.

I'd definitely say go for it. I've picked up quite a few Ryobi tools of late and I have to say that I've been impressed with all of them. That's a heck of a deal for a saw of that size that doesn't come from HF.

I'm going to guess that there are a great many things that are cheaper than a Snap On box. I'd even venture to suggest that there aren't too many boxes that you can buy that would be more expensive than a comparable Snap On toolbox.

I'm going to guess someone didn't get the memo on pricing? If it wasn't supposed to be released until June/July, it's entirely possible that pricing hasn't been finalized. Now if only they'd come out with modular stacking storage, is likely spent two whole paychecks...

I really like the handles on my PB Swiss screwdrivers probably more than any other brand I've got. Now, I don't work on anything greasy, so that might be a consideration for some, but for me the handles have a great feel.

$139 for the Fuel Hackzall with a 4.0 battery is a smoking deal. Milwaukee regularly runs free battery promotions, but they don't generally include bare tools.

Well, what happens when you've bought all of the tools that you need and your monthly tool budget keeps piling up and you just have to spend it on something. It's either these or you start buying everything all over again in green, or you buy these. I'm pretty sure that's almost certain to happen. Some day. For someone... They're not that expensive, but they're expensive enough to slide down on the list I think. Maybe I'll get a brad nailer to see how I like it and go from there.

I can't imagine what that must be like to run that cable. I was sore as hell from wrestling with the machine that I had for 4 hours running it in and out hunched over a hole in the floor. I'm going to guess that doesn't go around corners so well

Looks like Christmas in April!

They work pretty well, I've found. The key is making sure that it's well clamped down so that it doesn't drift mid-cut.

My weekend started off with a lot of crap. Literally. The toilet on the first floor of my house was erupting like Mount Vesuvius every time we drained water upstairs - bath, dishes, toilet, didn't matter. So, I figured I there was a clog somewhere between the house and the septic. Out came the trusty Ridgid snake. Well, 20m later, nothing was happening and it broke - wouldn't retract into the housing anymore. Oh well - sounds like an excuse to get that Ryobi 18v snake I've been eyeballing for a while. Perfect! I get home from the Depot, eager to try out my new toy. Well, the Ryobi has a 25' auger cable. It went all the way in and did nothing at all. So, after a few more tries, I remembered there was a beast drain auger at the depot on clearance. I got up early and, after a quick drive down the road, this beauty came home with me for the bargain price of $250 - half off! Meet my new Ridgid K-400. 75' of 3/8", solid core goodness ready to tackle anything that I could throw at it. Sure enough, about four hours later, this beast finally broke through what was probably 15' of clogged gunk and grease (gotta have a chat with the nanny on what is ok and what is NOT ok to flush) and the drains started working again. Now I just have to deal with the HomeOwners insurance to get them to rebuild my bathroom, but that's another story. Anyway, when all was said and done, not only can we flush, I've got not one but TWO new drain augers for any future clogs that show their ugly faces!

Pretty sure they were thinking that their core customers don't regularly use tools that are 50" long that they want to store in a drawer. That plus the fact that I'm quite certain that a single 60" wide drawer would be quite a bit more expensive to build and support and still keep the price of the whole thing reasonable. I might be wrong, just a though.

I never thought not to spin the drill fast when I was pulling out. Good tip.
