That'a because that is the old stand light. The new one is $399 bare tool so it's a $150 premium. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Rocket-LED-Stand-Light-Charger-2135-20/207041807
  2. Sounds like it's time for a road trip south of the border.
  3. I stopped in Sears the other day and spotted some Craftsman miter saw blades that looked interesting, so I snapped a pic to ask the crew. These blades say "Made in Germany." Are these actually Bosch blades in disguise? $60 isn't bad for a German made finish blade but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to who actually makes these and if anyone has experience with them, good or bad. 4. The Australian models also have to be hardened to keep out a much greater variety of wildlife that want to crawl inside and ride it home to kill you in your sleep.

    m18 9.0

I'd be interested to know how they're planning on making an adapter. The problem is that there just isn't space in the battery cavity for the 9.0 to fit. Making some sort of adapter that would place the battery outside of the cylinder might technically work, but would be ugly and would make the battery easier to bang / knock around and dislodge, so I can't imagine that's their solution.

I'm happy to say that I really have never had your experience with either Milwaukee tools or with their repair service. I'm not sure what sort of bad red tool mojo you've got going on, but it sounds most unfortunate.

    m18 9.0

Well, they modified the existing model slightly and upped the output. The model # didn't even change. As far as I can tell, owners of the legacy light are just SOL as far as putting 9.0 batteries into it.

    m18 9.0

The only tool that I think I have that I know won't fit the 9.0 is the 2361 (LED light). I've got the older 1000 lumen version and I'm pretty sure the cage is too small for the 9.0 as they changed it behind the scenes and bumped up the specs to 1100 lumens.
  9. You've got to dry it out completely for it not to short and fry the electronics. If it's warm and dry outside, leave it in a sunny spot for a day or two. Be sure to bring it in at night to keep the few off. You cool also try a warm oven - 150 or so - or a ziploc bag full of rice (I've had varying degrees of success with those methods for drying out wet electronics.)
  10. Allen wrench here, but that might be a catch all for all L shaped hex key type wrenches.

I actually think that's the regular price. At least that's the price listed on CPO. The deal is you get a free undershirt I believe.

I feel like I have to head to the depot and search desperately for a yellow tag to photograph and post just to refocus this thread.

    junk tools

While I have no reason whatsoever to doubt what you're saying, I've never run across this sort of difference in any of the tools that I've seen in my local Milwaukee "everything for sale" store. Do you happen to know which tools were different models / parts between the two? Now I want to go and check them out to compare next time I've got a free lunch hour.

Ditto here. I'll take the jigsaw off of your hands and take my chances with eService if you're really going to toss them.
  15. If only there were some way to use tools without needing to plug in to the wall... Perhaps someday, someone will invent some sort of powered tool like a drill or a saw that carries its own power source. I'm not sure it'll ever catch on, but it's the future, believe me.
  16. Well, looking at eBay auctions, the fuel circular saw is going for around $180. That means you're getting the 9.0 battery and the quick charger for $45. Even if you were too sell the saw at firesale price, say $100, you would then be getting a 9.0 and fast charger for $125. Damn, now I might have to buy two.
  17. I believe so, but I haven't put it into the shopping cart yet and tried the discount code or I'd likely hit "finalize order" before finishing thinking it through.
  18. I believe the 10% is today only. No idea about the combo deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ha ha - you and me both. The problem is that I've already got both of those tools, so I'm here thinking to myself... "I barely use my sawzall, so I can't get another one of those. However, the circular saw... I could have one with a framing blade installed and another with a finish blade...." Talk about enabling!
  20. Yes it does and the 1 battery sawzall sells for $299 with. 5.0 and the old charger.
  21. So, you're probably thinking "what's so special about $249 for a 9.0 starter kit?" Well, you get a new 9.0 battery, one of the new fast chargers and a bare tool. The hot part is the tool that it's bundled with. You get a choice of fuel tools. 7 1/4" Fuel Circular saw kit http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/milwaukee-48-59-1890pc I saw that there was also a Fuel Sawzall kit available too. http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/milwaukee-48-59-1890ps In top of that, I think Acme has a 10% off the entire site promo active, so that would bring it down to $225 for either the Fuel Sawzall or 7 1/4" circular saw, a 9.0 battery and a fast charger. Anyone in looking to expand their red stable would be silly to pass this up, at least how I see it.
  22. You bought the foot chainmail?
  23. Actually I was thinking something that was like an accordion and would stretch between the dust chute and the fence back so that the dust doesn't have quite so far to travel to get to the suction of DC. I'll try to draw a diagram later to show you what I'm talking about. Maybe one of the crafty individuals around these parts can knock something up and make a few bucks. 24. The 12" Milwaukee miter saw has the same basic design for the dust collection. With just the bag, dust does everywhere. I've hooked mine up to a shop vac and it actually doesn't spew much dust at all by comparison. I'll have to do some more scientific testing or perhaps a quick video. I'd love some sort of collapsible shroud to make it even better though.
  25. He problem with miter saw dust collection is that you've got to get to 95% before you can use one indoors in an occupied house. I'm not saying that they couldn't do better or that an 80% dust collection rate wouldn't be great, but I'm guessing that 20% of the dust flying around in a customer's house is still going to be too much. AFAIK, only the Festool does a good enough job to be used in a finished house and not a shop setting.
