  1. I haven't had kruschiki since I was a kid and my grandmother used to make it and bring it down for Christmas. Looks good.
  2. So is this limited to gifts from other people or can we count gifts we give ourselves because my relatives wouldn't understand why I really needed a BR700 and a set of new woodpecker T-Squares?
  3. CL and eBay conspired to make me buy more tools to feed both of my red tool addictions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I ran across this story this morning and I don't know if it affects anyone in the US but I know we have users from Europe on here so I figured I would forward the information. anglegrindercare.com IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Owners of series GWS 20, GWS 22, GWS 24, PWS 20, PWS 1900 and PWS 2000 angle grinders from the production period June through to August 2016 and of model GWS 24-230 JVX Professional with brake from the production period February through to October 2016 are asked to observe the following: Effective immediately, these devices must no longer be used or provided to others. Affected devices will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. Use the following link to view the Safety information.
  5. So presumably these started out life as flashlights. Taking into account the base tool and battery, add in the adapter to fit the ridiculous light and then of course the ridiculous array of lights on top, how much would it take to make this monstrosity?
  6. That thing makes me want to cut up the slab in my garage just to do it.

    Home Depot

The rotary tool is really very nice. It has a standard (1/4"?) thread and collet so it can accept all of the Dremel attachments. I've got the drywall cutout, the flexi shaft engraver and endless polishing and cutoff wheels and I've always been happy with the power and performance.
  8. That makes sense for the 7/16 shank on bits for the HH, but I was actually thinking about 7/16 impact drivers. Specifically, I've seen this one around and was wondering what it's used for: Just drilling giant holes? Wouldn't this thing kick the HH's butt up and down the street for self-feed bits and augers, of course assuming that clearance isn't an issue.
  9. It does. I sort of wish I had waited and gotten the 2nd gen version though. The height adjustment crank looks very handy and solves the one big problem that I have with mine.
  10. So, on a sort of unrelated note, why does 7/16 even exist? Why wouldn't you just go bigger with 1/2 or smaller with 3/8? Is there some specific reason there's a 7/16 set of sockets?
  11. I wish ruralking.com had free shipping. I'm spoiled and never really want to lay for shipping, even if the price plus shipping is less than I'd pay elsewhere. I'm weird, I know.

    Fragile!

Amazon. Must have been a marketplace seller, though I could have sworn it was sold by amazon and it was definitely Prime 1 day shipping.
  13. A quick trip to Lowe's for an OMT blade and. Couple of clamps ended up a with a few more items in the cart. BTW, did anyone know that Irwin flush cut saws are made in Japan? I wasn't really planning in getting one, but I couldn't resist. Also, Kreg makes a short #2 pocket screw bit. It was an educational and not too expensive stop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fragile!

I come home to find a box in front of my door that's covered with "Fragile - Please handle with care!" stickers. Now, we're not talking one sticker but one in every side of the box. Whomever sent this really wanted to make sure that the contents were handled carefully by the shipper. Making the mystery box even more mysterious, the return label was a private individual in Charlotte, NC. Now, I was sort of confused because I hadn't ordered anything fragile and I certainly wasn't expecting anything from an individual in Charlotte. Well, seeing as how it didn't look like terribly suspicious (I've had to take bomb detection courses for work... don't ask), so I opened it up. What do you think I found was the super fragile contents? Mystery solved and now I'm just confused. Oh well, at least my nails are here.

    Wait What The

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's not going to be covered by the warranty.
  16. That'd be a must have if it had blue tooth, but I just don't find myself listening to the radio much anymore. I guess I'll cross my fingers and wait for a bundle deal with the new M18/M12 bluetooth speaker coming out in January.
  17. I picked one of these up today - well actuall Amazon delivered it. I have to say that I'm quite impressed. The ratchet really is silent and perfectly smooth. The switch mechanism is solid and I never get the feeling that I'm going to switch it accidentally like I do with many other ratchet screwdrivers. It it remains to be seen how well the bits grip screws, but there's a good selection of Phillips (I've never had another multi-but driver with a ph0), Roberts and torx bits. To top it all off, the fact that it's made in Canada and not China and only cost $25 makes it a winner in my books.
  18. Picked up a Dewalt heat gun today from CPO. Free shipping and $25 off made it too good a deal to pass up. I actually needed a heat gun too, so that was a bonus! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You know @KC_Tool, I was thinking, if you really wanted to feed the addictions around here, you'd come up with a special TIA batch shipping program so that people could take advantage of your tools of the day deals without having to worry about shipping. Basically, you sign up for the program and then order as you like, but your order wouldn't be shipped until you reach the threshold for free shipping. I have no idea how your inventory / order system is set up or if this would even be practical. However, speaking for my personally, there have been a number of TOTD deals that I would have loved to have jumped on, but I don't want to spend the $$$ each time to get to free shipping. However, if I could buy one a week for a couple of weeks until I get to free shipping, then BOOM, box o goodies is headed way!
  20. Ha ha. I remember when I brought my daughter home for the first time. We spent 3 nights in the hospital with a staff of nurses, lactation consultants, etc. waiting ready to answer questions, take her for a bath, and get you anything that you needed. We weren't even in the NICU. It was a shock when we got home and all of a sudden we had this tiny human and we were totally on our own and responsible for keeping her alive. Actually, terrifying is probably a better word.
  21. Definitely a scam. The way that banks work nowadays is that money is electronically credited to you right away when you deposit a "bank check" as long as the information on the check is correct. It then can take 3-5 days for the actual charge to make it through the system, bounce because the source account has no money in it and then the funds are backed out. The net result is that the money appears in your account and stays there for a couple of days. During this time, the scammer gets your goods and then the money disappears. I buy and sell stuff on CL occasionally, but only deal in cash and only if they're willing to meet at a bank or a police station. Its amazing how many people will back out when you give them these conditions.
  22. Can anyone tell me the difference between this router and the Bosch 1617? This one has a slightly stronger motor, but aside from that, I don't know enough about routers to know why this one costs $100 more.
