  1. I have to ask... exactly how often DO you find yourself picking it up with a forklift?
  2. The Rotex 90 actually solves two problems for me. First off, corners. My LTD5 (if that's what it's called??) obviously doesn't get into corners well. The other reason was for sanding face frames. I really like the idea of having a hard pad that's smaller in diameter for sanding narrow stock without rounding off the corners like I sometimes do with the larger, soft pad sander. Of course, I'd also need a whole systainer of papers since Festool doesn't sell a variety pack; it's probably another $400 in sandpaper for all of the shapes and grits to get set up.
  3. I know, right? I've been angling for a Rotex90 setup and well... lets just say I'm still working the angles.
  4. That's awesome. Just yesterday I got the "People built furniture and entire houses that have lasted hundreds of years with just hand tools. Do you really need a new sander and dust collector? Just use a piece of 2x4 with sandpaper and you can get into the corners just fine." *sigh*
  5. I've successfully completed and received items from a Milwaukee mail in rebate. Last year they were offering a free battery when you bought an m12 MSpector. The rebate took probably two months to get to me, but it did finally come so I know it does work, if slowly.
  6. I actually was contacted by big red to participate in a survey for their LDMs a few months ago. I didn't know they were quite this close to shipping though.

    Stuff

As long as you set up the payment as "send money to friends and family," there's no charge from PayPal. You can then transfer the money into your bank account that's linked to your PayPal account but that part can take 3-4 days sometimes.
  8. Amazon will answer all of your problems...
  9. Not all of them. I came across this deal and it's close to motivating me to pull the trigger. Buy a tower light get a free 5.0 starter kit. That's fine and dandy, however HD and some other retailers are ALSO running a get a free starter kit. So for $200, you get the tower light and TWO starter kits. That's a deal any way you look at it. 10. I've actually got a Grr-ripper that I use on a router table. In theory I know that table saws can be used safely with the blade guard in place. To be honest, until I have sufficient shop floor space to walk around a cabinet saw and maneuver sheet goods, there isn't enough added functionality that I'd get with a contractor saw that would make it worth the risk of bumping into something and losing a finger or worse.
  11. I suggested that they let us buy several deals of the day over time but not ship them until the total reaches some threshold for free shipping. This would be dangerous but it would be fun.
  12. You could try making a retractable pencil holder out of a spool badge holder. They're a lot lighter weight and have an easier draw than a keychain since they only have to hold a badge. I got one on amazon for like $5 and it's held up fine so far, but then again I don't beat it up too badly.
  13. I'm pretty sure the digital version could easily get a beeper if it doesn't already have one.
  14. If you can't leave low spots with a belt sander, you're not trying hard enough.
  15. Holy cow - congrats!!!!! You're never too old to be a great dad. I had my first spawn when I was 41 and I wouldn't change a thing. I just know so much more now than when I was in my 20s. Sure, I can't stay up for 3 days straight anymore, but that's what energy drinks are for, right? That plus, I was able to put off growing up until after I was 40. Now, I just say as long as I grow up slightly before my kids do, we'll all be in good shape!
  16. I'm not going to lie, the video of the guys using it as a table saw made me want to look away. That spinning blade sticking that far up out of the table with no riving knife and people's fingers right up next to the blade pushing wood is the stuff of my nightmares. I fully admit that I'm a wimp about table saws and won't own one until I can have space and money for a SawStop, but that's borderline horrifying.
  17. I've used it one time for my stand light where the pole clamps broke the first time I used it. They said it wasn't a warranty issue, moronic I know, but fixed it with the upgraded metal clamps from the new rocket light anyway free of charge.
  18. Looking at the two together, it should fit though you'll likely want some foam to keep it from rattling about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. See, this is what I always found funny about those lists of smartest and dumbest dogs. I used to have Afghan hounds, which by every list I've ever seen are so dumb, people are amazed that they don't forget to breathe and eat. Forget about trying to get them to do obedience courses. However, my experience was VERY different. Those little buggers were incredibly intelligent. Once, the pack of them faked a fight in the back part of the yard, so that I would come running to break it up, only to find that there was no fight ongoing and that an entire pitcher of steamed shrimp, that was stolen from the counter during the "altercation," was being shared quite peaceably among the entire gang. Not to say that there aren't intellectually challenged canines just like there are humans that aren't too bright. However, my experience is that a good number of so called dumb dogs are really just dogs that don't have an overwhelming desire to please the humans and have their own agenda.
  20. The awesomeness of this post has rendered me unable to come up with a witty reply. Mark Hammill is the man.
  21. Cool setup but I have to say that my mind immediately went into the gutter when I saw this picture.
  22. Another thing to consider is that this vacuum is designed to be a dust-buster type, small mess cleanup tool that lives in the charger. You're supposed to take it off of the charger, spend 2-3m cleaning up a particular mess and then stick it back into the charger to top it off again. The P102 that it comes with is more than adequate for this usage scenario.
  23. I second this statement. Milwaukee's 5 year warranty was one of the primary reasons that I got into their platform. I've had to use it a couple of times and never been dissatisfied. (Well, almost never, but that's a different story). I'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't have the jobsite needs of a lot of the folks on here and my tools get used regularly, but not daily. I love my Bosch 1617 router, but the fact that it only had a 1 year warranty doesn't sit well with me. I've used it probably 3 times in the year and a half since I bought it, so for all intents and purposes it's brand new. It has never been left out in the rain, dropped into the dust or abused. However, if it were to die tomorrow, I'd be SOL because its out of warranty.
