  1. For regular tubes of caulk, probably yes. However for the large tubes of super thick gasket sealant, the M18 really shines. I was replacing the ropes on the door and glass gaskets of my wood stove and the black goo you use to seal and adhere the ropes is incredibly thick, so I was glad to have the extra power. I've also heard tales of windshield sealant that's even harder to push, especially when you've got to do it in the winter.
  2. Not long at all. In fact, looking into the hole I discovered something even more fun. The hole is really only like 1/2" deep and the melted metal coated the end of the hole. I tried to continue with another masonry bit in my 2704 and couldn't get through the melted metal. I had to drill another hole right next to it and, though it took some time, it went in just fine the full 4" As for what I hit, I have no idea. There can't be any rebar in there - it's quite literally the middle of a regular red brick. As a side note, I had forgotten how painful drilling masonry is with a hammer drill. I'm definitely spoiled.
  3. So I pulled out my 2712 and a brand new box of Bosch SDS Plus bits to drill a couple of small holes into the brick around my fireplace. On the first hole, the drill went in around 3/4" and then just stopped moving forward. I pulled out and saw that the tip was glowing so I took a closer look. This is what I saw. Another bit is next to the melted one for comparison. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but Bosch SDS bits really shouldn't melt drilling through brick, should they? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. The guy worked for a company that bought them to use in panel saws, so they just unpacked the saws and never used the boxes that they came in. These were actually in the original product shipping boxes.
  5. Last spring, a guy on CL was selling a bunch of metal boxes from the Milwaukee 10 1/2" circular saws. At $12 each, I bought up as many as would fit in my van and brought them home thinking I would use them as tool storage. Well, I finally got around to building some shelving in the garage to give them a proper home. Presenting the Milwaukee Wallzall! Now if only I could find some magnetic sheets in the right color red, I could cover up the "10 1/2" Circular Saw" label with an actual printed label of what's in each box. That would be an awesome backdrop for a red tool family portrait.
  6. Damn - that 600/400 dwarfs mine. I really want something with a faster upload speed, but with one and only one option for internet, it's not going to happen.
  7. Congratulations!!! I love the picture. Having just gone through new fatherhood myself not so long ago, I can tell you that you'll get all manner of advice, some good but most bad. The one piece of wisdom I can impart upon you is this: Take lots of pictures. They'll never be this small again and you will never look back years from now and say "gee, I wish I hadn't taken so many pictures when they were growing up."

The short answer to your question is "how much do you want to pay for it?" The somewhat longer answer is "you can, if you're willing to hack it together yourself". You can get a waterproof USB HD borescope camera that hooks into a smartphone on eBay for next to nothing (under $20). Couple that with a cheap android handset and a waterproof case and you're in business. Not as pretty or rugged, but cheap and very functional.
  9. The M18 and M12 chargers only light up when you plug in a battery, so I imagine the M28 charger would work the same way.
  10. Oh noes! You should take requests for your final hurrah as a power tool pusher.
  11. I thought there was supposed to be, but the saws are still in stores and available to order. Maybe they can't import any more?
  12. Neutral white is their "thing" actually. Cool, blueish light can distort colors.
  13. Even though the form factor has been out for a couple of years now, the model has indeed been updated. The old model had 1000 lumens. The new model has 1500 lumens and a modified battery cage that can fit a 9.0 battery.
  14. The miter saw stand is very nice. Not quite as easy to raise as the bosch, but really solid and at $99, the price can't be beat.
  15. I feel your pain. Last year I got cocky waiting for the M12 jigsaw kit to go below $60 (yes, I know, I'm an idiot) and the gods of the yellow tag have been punnishing me ever since.
  16. I almost hate to ask, but is that wreck even survivable?
  17. Ditto. I had the page pulled up and was about to hit buy now before I thought that I didn't really need a fourth multimeter.
  18. The black one I checked out again today had slow close drawers.
  19. And then we'll all shell out just a bit more for the red version!
  20. Purchased from an authorized dealer as well. If you buy from CL or EBay, you're likely not covered.
  21. Ha ha - actually I just typed the #s in and UPS says its only like $110 to ship, so even then it's a heck of a deal on that saw.
  22. Local pickup? Psh... shipping won't be more than 300-400!
