  1. Well a lot has happened since i posted last. Ive been on numerous trips with the bike and I've managed to put about 6000 miles on this year so far. And the bike has changed colors finally. Ive done a lot of maintenance on it too. Here's how she looked when I went on my last trip: Ill be doing some moto vlogs too here shortly as Im waiting for a new mic for my helmet cam.
  2. Well I got the suzuki running. And then I sold it. More money for the buell, which is slowly turning into a sport touring adventure bike. Im very pleased with it. Pictures soon
  3. New petcock installed on the suzuki and no more leaks! Its 45 degrees here today and looking like 50 for the next 10 days so I hope to do a lot of riding. Had to revert to factory brake lever for now on the buell as it was too close to the bars and very uncomfortable. Ill do a little carb tuning on the suzuki tomorrow morning to see of I can get it to run a little better.
  4. Well I put new levers on the Buell and have a new petcock on the way for the GS. I had plans to sell the GS to a friend of mine but now that Ive ridden it I'm second guessing selling it. Its a fun and comfy bike, even if I've only put like 3 miles on it.
  5. Its a 2005 Buell XB9SX or CityCross as they call it. "Urban Assault" bike is what they marketed it as.
  6. Oh ya too good of a deal to pass up since she books at right around 3k. Here is how she sites currently:
  7. It looks even more sick. Ive added handguards and am adding a front fender. Going for a supermoto look
  8. Haha I have only used the pliers once and it was to work on this bike. My choke cable slipped off its peg(stupid design) and i used this on the outside end to use the choke. Worked well.
  9. Big Steve is just Mark Wahlberg in a fat suit...
  10. Hey guys just an update: Got a few more things fixed on her. Petcock is still leaking after i took it apart so i ordered a new one. Took her for a ride last night while it was a balmy 22 degrees. Also picked up another bike to work on. We she just needs a little cosmetic work. Got it for....$500. Not even kidding. Killer deal from a friend. Runs just fine after i did a little maintenance on her. Here she is:
  11. Man these are so cool! I just wish working on bikes I had a real practical use for them! Lots of good innovation in this product. Knurling to spin by hand. Tool relief cut out so you can just slide your wrench up or down to get another swing on it. I'm very impressed with this tool! Too bad motorcycles are so accessible or id buy one and do a review!
  12. Yikes Comp. I prefer to wear hiking boots as well. I have some Merrels and they are great. Comfy, light, have tons of traction and are waterproof. Price was about $150 from cabelas
  13. Oh my god a need that. I use baby powder right now as an alternative and it works but i would rather not have it all over my dress pants all the time
  14. Id rather take 3 55 gallon barrels, lay them end to end and weld them up and make them into stick burners. Something about meat cooked over wood makes it taste so good.
  15. Did a little more work on it this weekend. Got the gear indicator to work so now it tells me what gear I'm in! Thats a pretty damn cool feature for a bike from the 70s. I guess they clear coated all of the connections so i couldnt melt the solder at all. Finally scraped it off and got to re-solder it. My petcock started leaking pretty bad after i put a hose clamp on it so I think its time for a new one. Also went to the tool depot and picked these up
  16. Milwakee needs to come out with a tool box now like Dewalt did. I bet it will have a wire stripper in it...
  17. Another cool show though not as manly is Property Brothers. Granted one of the brothers look a little to "pretty" to be a contractor, the stuff they do is pretty damn cool. Transforming some pretty crappy houses into very cool spaces
  18. Wow that looks way cool! Would be perfect for when I inevitably have to go work on other peoples vehicles/bikes/4 wheelers. I may have to pick one up and do a review Edit: Looks like only a UK thing?
  19. Currently waiting for some brake parts for the handlebar switch as i seem to have misplaced mine. I'll be getting new charging system parts too, a new regulator rectifier and probably a new stator depending on what the current one looks like. New SS braided brake lines are in order as well. Just thought id give an update.
  20. I also think its a good idea on larger equiptment to buy the $30 or whatever it is stamp kit and stamp some letters and numbers somewhere only you will know so when it does get stolen and they remove the serial number after searching online where its located, you can say theres xxx-xxx-xx-x under the seat ect. Just an extra precaution
  21. Unfortunately no. Its a well fed girl but not overweight. Although that Klein is looking pretty good to me as well
  22. If you guys havent already, check out fastcaps tape measures. I got myself one and my dad one and they are very cool and add a lot of feature and are cheaper than most that have been listed here. Ill always have fast caps no matter what. Theres so many options that you can have, you can order everything you wold need in a tape. Granted they are geared towards woodworking but i use mine for everything. Ill probably pick up a few more just for the options. Menards has them in stock too if you have one of those near you fastcap.com
  23. It should say in the manual. They say the recommended ft/lbs or in/lbs to store it at after use
  24. Ive had the Weras for a few weeks now and they are great. Only thing is i wish i could get them with a PH#0, PH#3, and PH#4. I know you can for other sets they sell, But i really like the look of my Red/Grey ones and they dont seem to be available for mine, and i like my sets to match. Another set may be in the works then so i can get the ones you can hammer on.
  25. I hope they stored it correctly too! A buddy of mine got his dads click type torque and it was stored at 90lbs for a few years. He snapped a head bolt off when using it so check that out
