  1. No doubt. I've already started the research on it.
  2. I have the Bosch PS 12v series. Impact, Drill and Pocket Driver. I love them.
  3. I think the next time I get a shipping question. I'm going to reply that it falls under the USPS flat rate method. That if it fits in the box we will ship it for $5.00
  4. This is how the warranty is written. WARNING LABEL REPLACEMENT If your warning labels become illegible or are missing, call (888) 848-5175 for a free replacement Essentially the way it was explained by customer service and the rep from the service center. Is that if there is any type of failure after the initial one year warranty and there is no recall on the part or assembly. It's determined "Normal Wear" and is not covered. Since I have 2 of these impacts, I used one for mechanical work on the cars and sleds and the newer one is used for carpentry work just so it doesn't get covered in grease and dirt. In reality, there is probably about 2 hours of use on it. It still look brand new.
  5. This week I have an appt with a Vivint Solar regarding putting Solar panels on my house. The attraction is that they assume all costs for installation. They then offset their cost buy claiming all of the local and federal state credits. They then sell the power back to the local utility company and you then buy the power at a reduced rate resulting in a lower electrical bill for the homeowner. They are then responsible for all maintenance and any issues. Has anyone gone through this process and had any issues?
  6. I get them all the time. There seems to be no logic on how the questions are filtered down to the community. I seem to get questions regarding shipping items to Hawaii and Alaska and whether you can order parts in kits separately.
  7. Agreed on RTR. He's essentially a glorified low budget infomercial. Too much detail about stuff that is not important and the monotone voice is numbing too say the least. I feel sorry for his wife, I can't even imagine on what it would be like to listen to that every day.
  8. Yes, I've never run into anything like this. I work in IT and we have failures all the time with various types of equipment. All you need to do is open up a case and it gets fixed with no headaches and stress. Granted, there's different expectations whether it's a laptop or a CISCO layer 3 switch, But at the end of the day you should know that the warranty that is implied by the MFG is actually worth something.
  9. Over the past 3-4 years, I've been committed to the Porter Cable 20V product line and I've been very happy with all of their products. Part of the attraction was the price point, performance and the 3 year warranty on there products. However in recent days, I'm beginning to question my decision. In June 2015, I purchased the PCCK602L2 combo kit (Impact and 1/2 drill with 2 Batts). I only needed the drill but it was cheaper to buy the kit versus buying the drill. I already had the impact so I gained a second impact in the deal. I then registered the tools thorough Porter Cable for the warranty.. 2 weeks ago, I was working out in the garage and I was using the impact and the tool just stopped working and it began to smoke. It appears that something is stuck in the armature and it's just locked up. Ok, no problem. The tools are registered and are warrantied for 3 years. I'll give them a call. I contact customer support and they open up a case for me on the tool and then direct me to go to one of their service centers for the warranty process. Everything is going great so far. On Tuesday, I go to the service center and bring the tool in. The person working at the counter looks at the date code (2014 24 BM) on the tool and hands it back to me and says. Sorry, nothing we can do for you since it's out of the one year warranty. Huh? What are you talking about, it's registered and I have the receipt. Yah, the warranty only covers one year on defects and workmanship of the tool. The remaining 2 years are only good if there's recall on the tool. and you're 2 months out of the one year warranty. At this point I'm ready to loose my mind. We go back and forth about customer service and how this is unacceptable. He could care less. So I leave and I call customer support back and tell them what had happened. They confirm that this is indeed the case and that I should go back to the store and speak to a manager. I ask about shipping directly to Porter Cable for repair and they don't offer it and that I will need to deal with the service center. Are you kidding me? This has to be the most ass backwards process I've run into. So essentially, even though there is a 3 year warranty on the box. In the end, it's just there for marketing purposes and is really worth nothing. Bottom line, Porter Cable does not stand behind their 20V product line. This entire process reminds of a scene from Tommy Boy.
  10. Just think of the design as a Latex Condom with a cheap covering over it.
  11. Great job! When I did my 24x24 garage It took us about 2 days to strip and replace. I was spent afterwords, very physical job. I have lots of respect for roofers that do it full time.
  12. For me it would have to be Black Label Society - Sonic Brew. (Zakk Wylde - Guitarist for Ozzy Osborne) Here's a sample.
  13. Tile looks great. Everything is in the layout which you spent some time doing before committing to it. Much easier to adjust loose tiles on the floor versus than fighting when the thinset is already down. What did you use for thinset? I've always used Laticrete which is latex fortified. I've had great success with it.
  14. Happy Fathers Day everyone!
  15. Hey, this looks very familiar. Finished project looks great!
  16. Don't need anything but best of luck in culling the herd!
  17. I picked this up last year at a tag sale for $25.
  18. I need to get some Bosch blades. I have some bigger things I need to take care of.
  19. The thing is that the parking brake has been out of adjustment for years. She never used it since it's an Automatic and the last 2 inspections they didn't even test it. This year we went to a new place and they went through it like never before. He crawled under it to check for a cat and he even checked the filler neck to see if the restriction plate was in there Honestly, I'm surprised it didn't fail for something else.
  20. I loved that cart. The only reason I sold it was because I filled it. I had it for 3 years and I sold it for $140 to some kid. I think I bought it with a coupon for $160. Not too bad.
  21. The wife's Jeep failed it's yearly state inspection for a weak parking brake. Luckily it was just an adjustment.
  22. Awesome! I use mine for the same thing. How many 4.0 batt's did you go through to make the pile?
  23. I had the 5 Drawer Cart and I loved it. Best value on the market - hands down. Here's a review I made of it.
  24. That's what I tell my wife when a project begins to loose momentum. I have 30 years to get it done.
