great comparison C harris. I just bought the Dewalt but I'm not sure if I want to keep it or go with a stihl residential model for about the same money. I am leaning towards keeping it mainly because when it's 5f outside I can just pop in a battery and go rather than deal with a gas model when my fingers are numb. Besides I got it for $179 and that battery is a great addition to my collection.

I like mine as well,the only thing I don't like about it is that the shaft moves so freely so it usually takes 2 hands to operate this and the drill. a hex screw to tighten it up would be a nice feature but other than that I love it. Though I have read complaints of the gears stripping out in the early models.

that's good to know, glad I went with the full size model. Doesn't the short model lack an adjustable shoe as well.I'll give up a few inches and a led light for an adjustable shoe and less vibration .

I'm guessing its the latter, the dust collector works good but using a vac will always be an improvement.

They need to do something like this for the US market. i bought a sander and even though the info tag at the store said it comes with a hardcase it actually comes with a darn bag. I'm sick of every tool coming in bags while Bosch and Milwaukee come in hardcases. Dewalt is getting to be a bit too cheap even though the prices are the same.

If you want any other pics lets me know. As you can see the older model had a two piece dust collector. I'm not sure why they couldn't bother to add an attachment with the newer model.

actually the D26453 has an adaptor that fits both 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" hoses but the fitting on the sander is different than on the newer model (the new model is round and the older model is more flat or tubular) so the adaptor won't work on the DWE6423K.My 1 1/4" hose on the 581H works on the D26453 but not the DWE6423K unfortunately. They do sell adaptors but not sure what the model number would be at this moment.Once I figure out how to post pics I'll put some up so you can see the difference.

I have both at the moment, the D26453 seems to be a bit louder and has a bit more vibration. The DWE6423K is about 1/4" shorter and has the rubber grip which is nice but not a dealbreaker wither way. The vac attachment is different and you'll need an extra attachment to use the 581H on the DWE 6423K while the D25453 works with the included adaptor. I prefer the DWE6423K mainly because of its a bit quieter but mainly that it seems to be a bit better in catching sawdust.​ Oh and i'd love a 20V sander. e I'd love to share a sid​e by side but for some reason I can't upload pics anymore.

I just went to acme and they ended up selling me the old one which had to much vibration. I then did my homework ad found out about this one so went to lowes and picked the new model up. They are both $79.99 and the difference in vibration is noticeable as well as the noise. I don't know if its a clear upgrade but I do prefer hte newer model for not only the vibration noise and seemingly better sawdust collection but the new grip is more comfortable as well. they did change the dust collection insert though and while ther older one let me use my 581H this is will need an adaptor.

acme tools has the Milwaukee fuel m18 hammer drill and driver for $250. It says $100 trade in but when I got my dewalt they didn't require any trade for that price. I think this means that they will have the new drill within a week or two and the new impact a couple weeks later. Even with my Dewalt I was very tempted to get in on this deal.

yep the new m18 hammer drill is supposed to be out mid August and the impact in September!

drool worthy for sure. I remember watching your drill review and you had a drill bit set with a systainer. I was curious what the model number on that was, do you recall?

The mode selector seems to be the reason the fuel is longer. I think that its a worthy trade off especially when you add the 1/2" metal chuck.

Could you please specify what you mean by laughable? All of my dewalt seem to be solid and do the job I ask of them. Maybe Milwaukee and Makita has the edge on them but Dewalt makes some great tools, far from laughable imo.

I think the tool control would be perfect for impact wrenches. I wonder if you can set the specific torque to match up with a manufacturers specs on lug nuts?

hmm how about a m12 circ or a 7 1/4" circ. I know Europe has a battery operated miter saw maybe import one of those lol.Does Milwaukee have a 5" orbital sander? how about waiting a couple weeks and getting the new hammer drill ? who can say no to 1200 in lbs of torque? Hopefully they will be one key compatible.Oh and I just got a multi tool (Dewalt) and you can't go wrong with one of those.

HD also has the fuel kits with free 4 ah battery or non fuel drill, impact or right angle or stick light . I think that its a $79 value for all the free parts. Acme has similar offers but only a light,right angle or battery.

they must be clearing stock out for the new arrivals in a couple weeks. Dewalt had the same deal at my local dealer but the guy said that no trade in was necessary even though that was the deal. So with the price difference between the Milwaukee and Dewalt at the time I had little choice. Though I'm looking to get into the M12 Fuel lineup soon. They have such an amazing selection.

I think the radio and blower were expected to release in october. Toolguyd has a great article about all of the Dewalt 2015 releases.

For the 20V with 5ah battery I get about 20-25 minutes when I use it on full power. The blower is great but don't expect it to get every leaf in your yard or when grass is stuck to concrete. I really wish they would add an attachment that creates a smaller exit. I think it would create a bit more force for those stubborn leaves even if it lowers the CFM. I chose this over the basic stihl model to go along with my trimmer but didn't want to mess around with a gas engine when its -5f.

Beautiful setup you have there, I bet that setup has really upped your productivity .

Yeah the 12V brushed can beat or match any other 12v brushed but the competition have made advances such as brushless and higher torque to take the lead.To be fair the brushless from the competition is quite a bit more expensive.
