  1. The fit is tight with the impact and 4.0ah battery but the drill won't fit with one. I also have the 995which is a bit shorter than 985.this is a tough case BTW and I'm assuming it's made for a compact set. I would definitely go foam if I had a choice.
  2. I agree as well,Other brands seem to be integrating brushless into a wider range of products than dewalt . I just bought into Dewalts 20V lineup but am waiting for the 12v to go brushless. If they don't I think I'll go the Milwaukee or Bosch route. The thing I do love about Dewalts 12v Drills are the slimmer handles though and a 4ah with brushless XR setup would have me first in line.
  3. any reason you are going from ion to polymer? I mean what are the advantages you will gain from polymer over ion?
  4. seems like the milwaukee has a softer tip and that would be the reason they wear rather than break. even hardcore milwaukee fans seem to dislike the shockwave bits.
  5. fallout 4 is coming in november, I could have worded that better, sorry, but that will probably be the next game I buy. I don't play games as often as I used to, I am too busy with work and other commitments.oh and doom 4 is on its way but if you are expecting old school doom you'll be disappointed.
  6. ok thats what I figured, maybe they are trying the tool with tstak out in europe and in time bring it over to my side of the atlantic. I like the tough cases for bigger power tools but the tstak seem like a better fit for smaller tools and accessories. It would have been nice if they shared the same footprint so they could be stacked with each other.
  7. I got the DS150 tonight and though I like it the box isn't really made for a full hammerdrill/impact combo with 4.0 batteries. The tools with the batteries attached is an extremely tight fit and the spot for the spare battery doesn't fit a 4.0 + battery. The tools will fit with the battery but the fit is a bit tighter than I was expecting but it will fit them though its clearly not made for them since the insert will flex a bit. the 2.0 fits fine though and there is room for a charger. If anyone is interested in pics I'll post some later on.
  8. I have that set and it works with the Dewalt. It should also work with the Porter Cable as well.
  9. They have a label with the information on the tool itself. It should show the model number and than below that you will see (type **)
  10. I know acmetools has a buy a kit and get a free battery, not sure if that's what you are looking for. The new hammer drill and impact driver are coming out in 2 weeks so keep an eye out around then.
  11. I have 2 tough boxes, you better watch out I'm gaining on you lol!
  12. Oh I meant to ask, Do they charge more for the bare tool w/tstak? I forgot to mention, A salesrep at acmetools mentioned that all Bosch bare tools come with a LBoxx ,is that the case in EU as well?
  13. congrats on your purchase, All I know is that its hard to find them in the US though I do see inserts from the UK and regularly. Enjoy the new tool and box!
  14. I suppose since it vibrates so much they realized it made too much noise or disconnected during use. Why not use it on all tools though? I mean it can't be an expensive addition though for every tool it may get expensive.
  15. yeah I hear you about the hammer drill function being used for smaller projects and holes. If I do need to drill 1/2" or 3/4" etc holes I'll just borrow the hilti from work.As for the 995 it is a great drill but I wish they would have kept the mode selector and I'm not sure why they only have 11 clutch settings. Maybe like you mentioned its not for finishing work so 20 settings aren't needed.
  16. Well the thing is I saw 2 different sellers and they had sold quite a few of them. Maybe they got them from a wholesaler from overseas. I don't know though. Oh and that's the case and insert.
  17. Lowes around here has a limited selection of Dewalt and our HD closed down within a year of opening. So I go to AcmeTools and thankfully they carry everything Dewalt,Milwaukee,Makita, and they even have Festool,Metabo,Stihl,Fein etc etc. I try to stay away though otherwise I end up spending my weekly allowance lol.
  18. ebay has tough case ds150 with plastic insert for drill and driver for $80. I know $30 extra seems like a lot for the insert but 1.they are hard to find in the US (only 2 sellers sell them on ebay) and 2. The foam is going to cost about the same amount. So its up to the user if they prefer the molded plastic which is limited to drill and driver with battery and charger of course or the foam which can be modified to your needs but can be a pain to get right , though might be more of a snug fit.I bought one tonight and will post pics with the tools in it when I get it but heres a pic of the insert.
  19. the 6.0 and 9.0 batteries are delayed until 2016 I hear. I'm eager to see what the runtime on that 9.0 battery is going to be. I may lean towards Dewalt but I love when any company makes these advances in tech, keep pushing the boundaries!
  20. haha right now I've just started playing the Witcher 3 and than maybe MGSV and fallout 4. I like big sandbox type games ,you?
  21. thanks for the kind words and reassurance guys. I was looking to buy a 5.0 battery for my saws so that's what sold me on the 20v. For my uses and yard size I think the 20V will be perfect. I'd have to say my favorite and most used tools is the multi tool and vac, it's just so versatile. the multi tool makes removing grout so much easier and than the little vac makes cleanup a breeze.
  22. Got the 20V max blower at lowes for $179 (they are marked as clearance already). oh and I posted some pics in the show off your tools section. I ended up getting the Circular saw instead of a miter saw since it will be good enough for my present needs. I need to stop buying tools lol.

    My new toys!!

I have been on a tool buying binge lately. I think I need to go to Tool obsession anonymous! I have a few projects coming up (deck and remodeling my shop). So I feel that the purchases are justified, at least that's what I tell myself haha. I just bought the blower tonight and it seems powerful but I'm not sure if the 40Vmax wouldn't be a better purchase. Does anyone here have experience with both and if so is the 40v worth the extra $120 (with free 4.0ah battery? Oh and I think I see an orbital sander in my future as well! What do you guys think, did I go with the right brand?
  24. We need more reviews and comparisons like this one. Loved it and I hope all is well with your partner.
  25. thanks, I have noticed that some of the circular saws (391) have 3700 RPM and some have 5150. I imagine the battery life would drop a lot with the increased RPM's though if it gets the job done quicker it would be worth the shorter battery life.
