  1. Is the comparison online or was it just live?I'm interested in a teardown comparison. Anyways while I went BL I mostly went for longer battery life and not longevity. With my usage level I can't imagine wearing out the brushes before I get the upgrade itch !
  2. ok thanks for the replies.yeah I heard that the compact model has an LED. It's not really that big of an issue unlike on drills and drivers.
  3. HAHA, I do love my 995 as well but I hear that the hammer function punishes the user more than other brands.
  4. How do you like your Dewalt circular saw? I was wondering if now is the right time to pull the trigger or wait for a possible brushless model. Though I have heard that Dewalt isn't all that interested in making BL saws . Not sure if that's true or not , I mean I can't imagine the downside to making one of the most power hungry tools BL.
  5. yeah well I just got the dewalt DCD995 but am definitely intrigued by the upcoming Milwaukee hammer drill
  6. haha no but I do realize that they make great tools and the extra price is warranted. I would have no problems owning and using red, green, blue, yellow, orange, etc etc. whatever gets the job done.
  7. thanks for the tip. I wish I bought a 40V 'when they had a free 40v 4.0ah battery with it but for the price the 20v is hard to beat. especially with that 5.0 battery that I would love to have .
  8. Will do! BTW i'm not only new here but I am new to cordless tools! I'm just starting to get into tools and woodworking so I'm taking it all in and may be overdoing it with the new toys lol. Oh and I just got the DCK296M2 kit and love it! Now what to get next, maybe the blower? Not sure if I should get the 40 or 20V though.
  9. no need to apologize, you are right in that most companies do charge a major premium and I was mainly talking about the drills .For example the DCD995B is $149 and the DCD985B is $139 . I won't name and names but one company that does charge a larger premium has a red shell.
  10. ok thanks, I will buy one soon, but I just bought the dewalt vac, recip saw, and the multi tool so I think its going to be the next sell lol.
  11. I know that you guys are talking about the 20V miter saw, but I was wondering if anyone here has the 715? Lowes has it for $199 and I was thinking of picking one up.I'll only be using it around the house such as building a deck and work bench for example.
  12. while some charge a premium for their BL models , but Dewalt only charges about $10 more making it an easier decision. Though Justin has a great point about reliability and longevity.
  13. I just bought the Dewalt DCS380B and it has no integrated LED light. Acme Tools shows that the 380 has a light and I have seen that the 387 has a light. My question is does maybe the type 2 or 3 have a light and I got the older model meaning no light? Does anyone else here who has the 380 have a light on their Dewalt 380? It's not a real big deal but I hate buying a new tool and getting a lesser tool than whats available. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
  14. nah the patent is only good for the US, so Bosch can still sell it everywhere else.
  15. haha seeing this now as a new poster I was thrown off and was about to google it when I saw the april fools day comment. dang, got my hopes up lol!
  16. Miwaukee is bringing out their full size drill and hammer drill in 2 weeks so you might want to hold off to either buy the new one or possibly for the old model to get discounted. I'm thinking the Fuel Hammerdrill will be $350 or so just for the hammerdrill kit but the old model might get knocked down a bit.
  17. Seems like he curses just to sound amusing but he comes off hmm a bit strong
  18. what does he expect for $100 drill? Besides he comes off as a fool.
  19. With all of the people looking for a brushless circ saw and recip saw you would think that would be on top of Dewalts to do list!
