  1. Thanks, I'll check it out.
  2. I'd like to have the signature version, but they are pretty high. $250-ish. Did you order it from Rockler?
  3. They HAD beds, but the dad took them (even though the mom has custody) because he says he bought them. Same reason he took her sweeper, the kids bikes, and just about everything else ? Long story short, he started working out of town, got on dope, and they ended up losing their house. They moved into a rental, and in 5 months got an eviction notice because he'd never paid the first month rent and a drug dealer came to the house looking for money. She left and with good reason. Her mom's dead, her dad is in prison for molesting her autistic son, and she has nobody. His plan is that if he makes it hard enough on her, she'll have to stay with him. He took most of her clothes, and actually cut all her bra's in half. Real piece of shit after he got on dope. Meanwhile she works 2 jobs and pulls 14 hour days to take care of her kids without any government assistance. As good a person as you'll ever meet. Mrs. Conductor and I have gotten our extensive social circle involved and everything is going to be fine. This is the type of situation where small communities like ours really shine. She got all the help she needed, and never had to ask for it. My mom took her to Sam's and bought $600 worth of groceries, I spent $300 at HD, another friend of ours bought her a sweeper, mop, and cleaning supplies, etc. Her apartment requires any electrical/lighting upgrades to be signed off on by a licensed electrician. I had one there at 10:00 last night to sign off on my work and he didn't charge a dime. Hard to beat our little town in times like these.
  4. Any of you guys have or know of a deal out there on a couple of M12 XC packs (4.0 preferably).
  5. Well, my axe came today, but I had no time to enjoy it. What a weekend so far! Friday I got up at 0400, accompanied my daughter's 5th grade class to Montecello in Charlottesville, VA and back for an 18 hour day. Today I started at 0900 helping one of Mrs. Conductor's friends move. We know the couple well. They were our neighbors at our first home, their kids play on my basketball teams, and so on. They are in the process of a divorce and it's pretty messy. I'm making my 2nd load with her brother, and the husband's family shows up (mom, dad, uncle, cousins, grandma, like 10 people, all pissed off wanting to know everything I've taken. I was under the impression this was already sorted out, but it clearly was not. After seperating a near throw down with the husband and the brother, things cooled down and went fairly smooth from there on. They had no issues with me as I tend to get along with most everyone, but it was a shitty situation to be thrust into. When all that was over, I went to pick up a load of new shit at the furniture store at which time we discovered that unbeknownst to her, the husband had canceled her debit card and cleaned out her account. The kids had no beds, they had no couch, no TV, what a mess. I wrote a check for it with the understanding that I'll get it back when her tax return comes, so we'll just hope it works out. Then I went to HD, got to put up 4 ceiling fans, walked in the door at home a little after 0100, and have to go back tomorrow to assemble and hang curtains and decorations and shit. The single highlight of my day was that I snagged a couple of my favorite Dewalt 25' tape measures for $7 each at HD. What a weekend ?
  6. There's bound to be enough sbobs there to film Kardashian movie ?
  7. I dunno man, looks pretty good as is. Clean up the table/fence, but the paint looks pretty nice from the pics.
  8. Old handheld power tools seldom command any real money and I'm not sure plastic bodied saws ever will. There might be a few exceptions, but for the most part, there just wasn't anything special about them. It's a cool user or wall hanger, and there's probably people out there that would give $50 for that reason, but the collectibility is low.
  9. Didn't have time to take a pic, but today I got a 5 lb. pick mattock, garden rake, and 4 lb. short handled sledgehammer, all Razorback. Also picked up a 3M Roloc kit to use the 2" scotchbrite discs on my die grinder. Still upset set that I won't be here tomorrow to get my spiffy new axe ?
  10. I have a few Proto tools too ? But your absolutely right right about the Knipex Mini Bolt Cutters. My peg board has 20 or so pair of blue handled pliers and one pair of red. Guess what they are?
  11. I saw that on a pack the other day and I was fucking astonished. Of course there's also this: Guess I'll have to pick my battles
  12. Good News: The expected delivery date on by flashy new axe is Friday. Lightning fast shipping from Walthers Equipment in Byron Center, Michigan, and the even threw in a free Husqvarna hat! ? Bad News: Having been a long time coach and someone virtually every kid in the elementary school is familiar with, I got bushwhacked into chaperoning the 5th grade field trip to Monticello in Charlottesville, VA......also on Friday ☹️ Man, it's a tough call. The parent in me knows these kids will remember this trip long after I'm dead and I glad to be a part of it. The tool junkie in me wants that damn axe! The struggle is real
  13. I can see it now "Why the hell is my shelf leaking?" That at sounds like something Mrs. Conductor would call me at work to tell me.
  14. Shit, I could do that.....with bosa wood......after a Redbull......and a smoke break ?
  15. Comp for the win. Got a pic Indig?
  16. Ha, I had this very same conversation with myself today trying to come up with some clever sandpaper storage solution. I bought 8 storage totes to organize shit, but I ended up dedicating a drawer to Sanding/Grinding instead.
  17. This is a lighter ~3 lb. general purpose axe and even then, a tool of last resort. When I was researching this thing I watched a couple videos of some ol'boy testing splitting axes. Exerted more physical effort in a 5 minute video than I do in 6 months. Poor guy, made me want to take up a collection to get him a splitter. Some people enjoy that shit, but Conductor's lazy ass prefers modern technology for shit like that.
  18. That's right. Sometimes aesthetics are important ? Amen! Axe's are too much like real work for me in 95% of situations. The only time I use an axe is when a chainsaw won't work, usually when it's too far overhead for my comfort level or when cutting out roots that will kill my chain.
  19. +1 I got the 3400 psi Dewalt model (made by Simpson) with the Honda GX200 and a triplex pump last year on the advise of a friend who knows pressure washers and I love it. A budget is a budget, but if you can afford to splurge a little, this is a good time to do it. I use a pressure washer all the time in the warm months, even do a little paid work with it from time to time, so it was easy for me to justify, but I'd at least consider it.
  20. I searched my property and some of the neighboring woods yesterday for the remainder of my missing lawn &a garden tools and came up with nothing. There are at least 2 shovels, a garden rake, a mattock, and an axe missing. The axe is the only tool that really concerns me out of the bunch, but the kids swear they don't know anything about it. I'll get a new mattock and rake one day this week, but I did take this opportunity to go ahead and order a new axe. I don't use an axe much, and only for stuff I can't get to with a chainsaw, but I wanted something a little nicer than the standard $30 hardware store offerings. Found this Husqvarna A1400 for $76 and decided to give it a try. There's not much out there in terms of reviews, but I'd never seen one like it in the wild and thought it looked cool if nothing else
  21. I finally had enough of the chaos in my shop, so I decided to start cleaning stuff out. Every winter I accumulate a real mess from trying to do everything inside but with all the work going on with the house, it was especially bad this year. In order to do anything with the shop, I had to first clean the building out. Man did I fuck up. I have a 7x14 trailer FULL of shit to go to the dump. It's all shit I have no idea why we ever thought about keeping in the first place. I was able to get most of the excess bulky shit out of the shop and into the building, and actually got started cleaning out the shop. I have so much crap stuffed anywhere it will fit it's not even funny. Hardware, scrap metal, cable, chain, all shit I can't justify throwing away, But I've got to find some organization.
  22. We don't have nice things like that in West Virginia.
