Been eyeing one for some time, but today I finally ordered the Husqvarna 580BTS It's big, heavy, loud, and moves over 900 cfm's. For the massive piles of leaves, clippings, and gravel, I need to move, I think it'll be just the ticket

I'm jealous. I spent 7 hours yesterday mowing and trimming. Everything was so out of whack where I was out of town and it rained every day for a month.

Both have the same Honda engine.

I personally do not like self propelled lawn movers. They are Much more expensive, heavier, bulkier, much less nimble, and just overall less enjoyable to use IMO. Plus the self propelled system is the first thing to give you trouble and the most expensive to fix. I seem to be a minority on the issue though

No, it's just that Soccer sucks ? Honestly, I think it all boils down to what one is accustomed to. We never had a local soccer league when I was growing up and even now there's only 1 in the county as opposed to other sports where there are multiple teams in every town. Most of the kids I know that play soccer do so because their mommies and daddies are too afraid to let them play football or baseball. Accordingly, soccer teams are mostly populated by the "fragile" kids who's parents signed them up for soccer as a last ditch effort at keeping them athletic. I realize that's not the case everywhere, but that seems to be the case here. To me, soccer looks like a bunch of people running around in circles and watching it ranks somewhere near golf on the excitement scale, but that's probably because I don't completely understand it.

I love the ingenuity, but that seems like a lot of work on $15 vise. Wonder what kinda drill I could use to that to my big Columbian ?

I too have often professed my love for the Makita gold bits, so I am a little curious what the introduction of the ImpactX line will mean for them ?

Completely understand man. Gotta cover your ass. Your job is way to awesome to lose. Even in my line of work I've had times I had to really watch what I posted. My only issue was with the time an article was posted on the main page. All I had to do was explain that articles are written in advance and set to post at a certain time, but it was still a pain in the ass.

A few years back we started hearing rumblings about Lithium Air batteries being the next big thing, but nothing ever came of it. Performance aside, if the average less informed consumer, professional or otherwise, is standing in the store and has to make a choice between a 40V or 60V OPE tool or an 18V OPE tool, price point and quality being similar, he's going to grab the higher voltage tool 9 out of 10 times. It matters little that peak performance of those tools are pretty much the same, because the vast majority of buyers never look into it that far. It's easy to forget that we as a community of enthusiastic tool users represent the best informed 1% of tool buyers. I suspect that, as always, Milwaukee will rely on heavy marketing to stay in the race long enough to wow us with something "better". Despite what they might like us to believe, I can't help but feel Milwaukee was caught off guard by Flexvolt. Maybe not, but I certainly get that feeling.

We had some wild weather for awhile. 70's one day, 30's the next. Taday we got a good rain in the AM, then it hit 91 at noon and the humidity was breathtaking. West Virginia is very seasonal. We get cold northern winters and hot southern summers. We don't get much of a spring anymore, but there's nothing like a WV Fall. Mild and beautiful. Makes all the other bullshit worth putting up with.

Picked up a 3" Milwaukee wire cup today. They're pretty proud of those. $18 apiece ? Oh well. It's better than fighting with the cheap ones I suppose. Also added a couple more Razorback tools to my revamped lineup. So far I've bought square, round point, and spade shovels, a garden rake, hoe, 5 lb. pick mattock, edger, and a post hole digger, as well as 4 lb. short and 8 lb. long sledgehammers. Cleaned and re handled my grandpa's old cutter mattock as well. Also grabbed a Fiskars hatchet. I would have bought the Husqvarna that matched my axe, but I needed it tomorrow so ordering it just wasn't an option. Still need to get a tamper, but hopefully I'm good to go on lawn & garden tools for a few years.

If price isn't much of an issue, you can't beat the Hilti hammers.
