  1. One of my favorite parts of Jay Leno's Garage is when he covers his steam engines, they're facinating how much power and how smooth they are and they're all soo different. Cool stuff man, thanks for sharing
  2. LOL, nothing much. I thought about bringing those Skil bits home but I don't have any experience with them. I only left with some number plates for my malbox. That mini grease gun was really tempting but things sit on that clearance table forever, I don't think many people know it's there at all...still has the 18v Hitachi drill for $20 after over a month. You could easily double your money on craiglist with that one.
  3. Today's stuff in Tampa, FL: Cased Xtreme access sets finally on sale: Tons of these: Skil drill bit set: B&D giro screwdriver a couple bucks cheaper than before, Blue hawk mini grease gun: Stupid little stackable stubby screwdrivers still on sale, two weeks not one has moved:

The thing is it's more accurate and easier to use than a ruler. It's great for measuring watch band lugs or stupid things like that where you basically just need to round to the nearest mm. I'd trust it to the nearest 10th but if you need more accuracy, get something better. I used my cheap-o caliper to measure some leads yesterday because I need to modify a pcb's mounting hole for a new part, worked better than eyeballing and I couldn't use a ruler. It certainly has it's uses but it will NEVER be able to compare to a toyo. It's like a cheap multimeter, they're fine for checking batteries and fuses...but they'll never replace a Fluke for just about everything else.
  5. I would imagine something like 6mm across and maybe 6-10mm long(which is a total guess). I have no idea how to get one out, I wish I knew I'd love to put a stronger magnet in one of my adapters...though i don't know if I'd want to go with the N52s I normally get, those are ridiculously strong, I'd worry about being able to easily get the bits out.

They're the best, buy one of those and treat them well and they'll treat you very well. It's the Fluke of calipers, nothing quite compares. BUT if you don't need suuuuper accurate you can definitely go cheaper...in fact, I would always recommend buying a cheap HF caliper to use in cases where you can cause harm to the good one, those you don't need to worry about getting them near a magnet or dropping. Nice pick up, they're buttery smooth aren't they? You know it's quality the moment you pick it up, worth every penny.

Hey guys, a couple of members on another forum created a spreadsheet with current deals sorted by category and lists everything you need. If you'd like to add to it you'll need a gmail account, or you can post it here and I'll edit it for you. The guys who started this spreadsheet gave me permission to share because I told them you were good guys so please update if you find something and don't just piggy back on others work. I want to have a fair bit of enteries from this site, represent TiA proudly, we're guests on their spreadsheet! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hz4wdipu4cu6XWVqcK8nGa_xyx7a-oHmNiuMZ__YRog/edit?usp=sharing
  8. I buy all of my magnets on eBay. I think it's a good time to upgrade the magnet to a more powerful magnet, I've wanted to do that before on bit holders but I couldn't get the magnet out. Note: Pay attention to where you're buying from, the cheapest will come directly from China and it will take a month to get to you. For a little bit more you can find shippers from the US.
  9. I've had bad luck with Ryobi, the batteries fail and have to be "shocked" back into taking a charge. I'd consider Black & Decker or Rigid mostly because of their cost and selection of tools. B&D sometimes gets a bad rap from professionals but for the above average skill set homeowner, they're great.
  10. Isn't it a rule as a man to have a knife/blade either on you or nearby?
  11. Very cool, I was thinking about doing a set for my Nephew. He played it at school and really liked it so his parents bought a set for his birthday but they're tiny. He's only 6 so I'm not really sure how big to make it, plus they live in a townhouse so storage space is limited. I like the lights a lot, never seen that before! I wonder how difficult it would be to do a panel under the hole that has some sort of pressure switch that changes the light when it hits, then it would light when someone scores.
  12. Well, I guess this announcement did it's job...seems like everyone is talking about Playboy today. Wondering if it's something they're announcing then going to just almost retract as "We didn't realize the public's outrage at the change" deal. With social media you don't really need to go through the whole new coke fiasco to get feedback.
  13. Doesn't Playboy know they tried that, Maxim and FHM did that a long time ago.
  14. Any discount plus free shipping. No minimum for free shipping is the biggie for me.
  15. went to Lowe's today, still $40 here Nothing new sale-wise to report. Though I did find two carts filled with Dewalt and other Stanley/B&D brands batteries and chargers...no specific tags or reason they were there, may be an upcoming clearance. I've noticed those carts tend to find themselves next to the hidden away clearance table. There were 20v batteries but no Dewalt 20v batteries in the carts, just various post-style packs.
  16. Wow, I bet that cost a pretty penny. Waaay more hammer than I'd ever need but that doesn't stop me from lusting after that beaut

    Flashlight

haha I live in Florida, so that'd mean my flashlight would be stored away for 11 months a year. I personally use a thin paracord, I just put my hand through it and let it dangle...when not in use and I'm not spinning it around by the lanyard on my index finger.
  18. They could be rolling out a sale. I've seen it hit some stores weeks ahead of others...sometimes some stores never get the sale. I'll check my store and report back Saturday before the hockey game starts
  19. That sucks, I hope they make it right. I don't know of too many online tool vendors, I mostly use Amazon. I've had great success with CPO but I really only use them for reconditioned tools because I'm cheap. Have you guys considered a vendor review section? I've seen it very successful on some forums in other industries/hobbys.
  20. That mod looks soooo much better than I imagined, nice work!
  21. On Amazon they have the Milwaukee M12 2415-20 right angle drill/driver bare tool for $43 currently with prime shipping. It's been as low as $38.75 today http://www.amazon.com/Bare-Tool-Milwaukee-2415-20-12-Volt-Cordless/dp/B002SQK996/ref=sr_1_14?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1443828128&sr=1-14&keywords=milwaukee&refinements=p_8:1243627011,p_36:1000-99999999&tag=viglink20245-20 Also, Milwaukee 48-22-4107 diagonal pliers 7" for $13.75 with prime shipping http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-48-22-4107-Diagonal-Pliers-7-Inch/dp/B005G111TW/ref=sr_1_23?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1444366199&sr=1-23

Not cordless but someone just reported finding a Dewalt DW304PK(reciprocating saw) for $0.01
  23. I second this, also I dare you.
  24. Mine is showing the same online(Tampa). When I went last week, they weren't on sale. They had some other Irwin stuff on sale, like that stupid vise grips with a knife glued to the handle.

I believe it is good on any purchase. I honestly, don't know much more than you, all I know is that others have said it's legit and it's in-store purchases only.
