  1. I have three of the three mode. Basically all of the cheap LED 300-400 lumens flashlights are exactly the same, so you can just find the cheapest one. I have two of those and one Cree, the only difference is a textured versus a smooth button. I'm not sure if that's the cheapest one right now, it was just the one on my watchlist. It's actually soo bright that I normally use it on the dimmer of the two modes(the third is strobe).
  2. There's a lot of things that I've done that aren't very safe but when messing with tools or things like your eyes are involved...just don't be dumb. In high school my best friend's older brother was using a grinder with the guard on, with safety goggles...the kind that look like chemical goggles but have a bunch of vent holes on the side. A piece of metal still ended up in his eye. This is why you always should use a face shield with goggles, loosing your vision isn't worth it to be lazy. Luckily, he still has his vision but if he was looking just a bit to the left he would be blind in one eye.
  3. OMG, I hate that feeling where you lose what you're trying to say. I often just say "Forget it" and get pissy for an hour or two. Also, I suck at having a mild temper. haha
  4. I know most guys recommend the expensive LED lights but I seriously love these little $6 lights that are bright as hell. They're also only $6 so you don't care if you lose one. If you do buy them, I recommend unscrewing the belt clip, dab some superglue in the screw holes then screw it back down. Those screws love to back out or strip, this solves both issues permanently. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006VPPERC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=FG53APQ94OYX&coliid=I2MSRY8U17HPXE&psc=1
  5. I've heard really good things about those Dewalt bits. Don't even consider the Shockwave bits...those Shockwave bits are HF quality at best. It sucks that Tyler is stuck with them, at least they aren't costing him money, just his patience.
  6. That definitely looks a lot better. A little more on that one bad side and you'll never know they were damaged, nice work
  7. Electrical tape also works well, you can even use it to cover blisters. I personally use hockey stick tape for everything, it soaks up blood really well. I have duplicate screwdrivers, snips, multimeters, drills and phillips 3.5" #2 bits. Most of all, wire, I have at least 10,000 feet of extra wire sitting in various containers. I'll never use most of it but when I need a particular type of wire, I will have it.
  8. I think that's the point of the adapter. I believe they're still making the 18v batteries because I still see them available online. You create an adapter and that allows you to stop supporting the old tools. Then the guys with the 18V tools now have 20V batteries, so when the 18V tool finally dies guess what they're going to buy. It a lot like what Microsoft has done with Windows 10. The end goal is to get everyone on Windows 10, what's the best way to do it? If you end support on Windows 7 or 8.1, you piss off customers. If you give them an upgrade option, they're "Supporting their customers" with a free upgrade.
  9. If you go to Ace, don't forget about the Irwin tool sale. The Vice grips and mini quick clamps are still $5 for a couple more days(there's other items as well). I believe everything is Chinese-made but still nice for $5.
  10. It's nice to know right? I feel like I'm broken, I'm actually kind of self-conscience about it.
  11. I'm really bad at retaining short term information and just overall short term memory. My long-term memory is fantastic, but if someone tells me a phone number, if I'm not writing it down I will forget in literally 3 seconds. I'm also bad when someone is spelling out a name for me and I'm entering it into a computer, it's like I can't force myself to listen. I hear them speaking but I don't retain the information...but it's only with letters and numbers. If they're telling me a story, I can be doing something that has my full attention and I can comprehend the entire story. I won't remember a customer that comes in a couple days later but if they come in a few months later, no problem, I can recall what we fixed and the symptoms.
  12. I'm thinking this would be GREAT to add onto a leg of your work bench. I can't tell you how many times I am looking for a place to put my drill down and it ends up on the floor or a misc shelf...for me to forget where I put it and have to look around.
  13. I went to my Nephew's 6th birthday party, a lot of his school friends were there...be glad you won't be having kids soon, they are monsters.
  14. Did you see the story last week about the lady that jumped out of a moving car(with her son in the back seat) because she saw a spider? hahaha

You can even make a wire mount to mount it like a picture, I've seen it. My 20" bench TV is just sitting on a little shelf that uses this style brackets attached to a peg board:
  16. That is a great idea, I'm probably going to steal that
  17. Oh ok, that explains it. I'm using these guys(not my pics): WTF is up with this last meter's leads?! Where do you even get those!? This is probably where the problem is...I use mine every day, in several different modes. I guess a lot of the guys buying these Milwaukee meters only really need voltage and continuity.

Make sure you don't use too big of a mount or torque the screws in the tv too tight. Often on TVs under 32" they are metal tabs with the threaded insert attached to molded plastic on the back. I've seen heavy mounts break those plastic pieces, the TV won't fall but the screws won't come out because the metal will just spin inside the back of the TV. Those screws only need to be finger tight.
  19. Is it a clamp meter? I don't really have experience with those. My shop has a 12, 117, 87, 83(I think) and a couple more that are all 9V.
  20. We may never know, we'd have to ask Mark Wahlberg to move his face first.
  21. While I agree with this, the reason I was hoping for a good tool was because everyone on the various forums were raving about them. Guess you should always trust your gut. I may try to contact Milwaukee and see if they'll do something for me(like a discount on another tool) or just try to flip it. Weird thing that had me questioning the choice before I received it was when I found out it ran off of two AA batteries...I've never known a multimeter to run off of anything other than a 9 volt.
  22. That's hilarious, I love dogs because of reasons like this. My dog is a beagle, he LOVES barking but I don't love it when he barks. So now he'll see a dog, get excited and look to me. If I say "Ok" he'll bark three times and look back at me. If I say "No" he'll lower his head, grumble and keep walking.
