  1. Also if you have the chance to hold Bosch GDR vec and fell the grip you will know exactly what I mean it's a great fit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. To be fair it's hard to explain the issue and have it come across right and because I have always had bosch that's why I can see and feel the difference in the two tools but without me doing a close up video to show exactly what I mean maybe people won't see my point but this won't be an issue with most screw types just maybe ph2 as they a sensitive to cam out but all I can say is the dewalt wants to cam out a lot more then the Bosch in speed 1 and even 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah I know and it's more powerful then the bosch with the slim batteries anyway but that isn't my gripe it has plenty of power which will come into its own but the Bosch on number 1 and even number 2 settings can drive very small delicate screws to perfection impacting at the perfect time but the 887 is not so good at that in number 1 it's neither here nor there and number two is a massive leap so it's not got that right balance like the Bosch plus wish the grip was a little better on the dewalt apart from that I'm sure the 887 will be amazing on certain jobs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yes completely agree it struggles with the big fasteners and maybe sounds worst at that point but if you do side by side in any mode with small to medium fasteners the way the bosch impacts kick in it drives a lot smoother and without cam out at all , I had the gdx and there is no noticeable difference between that and the GDR that I could tell , to be fair after a few weeks with the dewalt I'm sure I will see where it excels Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just got back off my holiday and my dcf887 had arrived which is good but I am not as impressed as I thought I would be !! It's not a complete rant but a few things tool reviews haven't hit on that I think are really important , in tool reviews I have seen like the recent one from oz tool which was a great review by the way but I have the bosch GDR v ec which you can see in my photo next to the new dcf887 and apart from the bosch not being as powerful as the 887 which by the way is a beast the Bosch is miles ahead in quality and also the way it impacts and seats the screws I will explain why I have ran them side by side and the dewalt on its low setting isn't the best which most people have agreed but one thing the Bosch does amazingly well is impact at the perfect time to stop the bit slipping out the screw head ! The Bosch on setting 1 puts small screws in perfectly and doesn't at any time want to jump out the screw head but the dewalt is the opposite Using 2 new ph2 bits which we all know want to cam out I did the same test on all settings and different ph2 screws and the Bosch seats the screws at ease and at no stage wants to pop out But the dewalt doesn't do it as well in anyway , I know it has higher rpm and Bpm but this isn't what's causing this issue its the fact the impacts don't kick in at the perfect time to stop the slipping they are a split second to late kicking in Also my other gripe which is the main one for me is the Bosch has the best grip and balance side by side holding one then the other the Bosch fits the hand amazing and also the sound of the Bosch is like a rolls Royce to the sound of the dewalt ! The Bosch is smooth and quiet when you pull the trigger and the dewalt is a lot louder and sounds more raspy if you know what I mean ? The dewalt has its place and benefits like the chuck and its power but I think tool reviews are missing some big factors like the way the impacts kick in and how the bit stays in the screw a lot better with one impact driver to the other I will say if I didn't have the Bosch I maybe wouldn't have found these issues an issue but because I've been used to the Bosch it's hard no to notice this I will be keeping the dewalt as it has its place but in no way has it replaced the Bosch ! 7. Would t something like this be perfect as it's not an impact and you can remove the chuck to put hex bits in , also this is the drill Eric said was his favourite if he had to pick one drill !! I have the 10.8v version of this and it's perfect for small screws it's so light and small Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah I see what you mean Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That's good info didn't know that , are you pleased with the saw ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It's a shame Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If it's permanent like you say then nothing wrong with fixing to the wall and it does free up some materials as you can design the bench to not need rear legs just front legs and it will naturally want to lean against the wall and when it's fixed it won't move anywhere Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah it rings a bell I may have even had a moan about it on that thread too lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I don't think for a bare unit it will be that much more to import so when I am ready for one I will have a good look into it , I've seen on Ebay a few sellers offering to ship from America so won't be hard to find one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Yes the main features that made it a nice and well built saw ! If I decide to buy one I will look in to importing one because the UK model isn't a patch on the American looking at the photos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. The UK model doesn't have the full aluminium base and handles plus doesn't have the lock off lever for the mitre detents ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Why is the UK 18v miter saw not as good as the American 20v max version !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Apart from the bosch as in a test on Concorde carpenter it out did the fuel on runtime cutting ply wood sheets Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah but I was thinking a code that you add into the app that you enter on the fuel gauge like 3 presses then a pause then 2 presses then one long press or something like that ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Does anyone know if there is some sort of fail safe with these if you have locked them off with your phone and you loose your phone or something then how can you get the battery to work again ? I'm thinking some sort of code sequence using the battery gauge button ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah I've found this out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I have the corded version of that saw and it's great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. That's all I needed to know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yeah and bosch's new ones coming out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah I see that too but I suppose it just stops people picking yours up and using it there and then rather then there own , would be better if it was both tool and battery ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
