  1. Nice work! Very creative. Gets my brain ticking... What else could be made??
  2. I sent a picture of the serial number to the Milwaukee tech that had contacted me and he said it was still within the warranty time frame, so I printed the mailing label, filled out the simple form, and dropped it off to FedEx. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
  3. Any thoughts on how the M12 Fuel Hackzall compares to the M18 hackzall? I posted a thread recently with issues on my M18. If that goes south and I'm looking to replace it, I'm curious if the M12 fuel would be a better choice... Or maybe Milwaukee will put out a M18 Fuel at some point, then there would be no choice.
  4. So, apparently the most important digit of the serial number is scratched to the point you can't tell what number it is. It's the digit that would say what year. Any idea when the M18 hackzall came out? It has 5 year warranty, so has it even been out for 5 years??
  5. Thanks for the good advice. I'll open her up and take a peak.
  6. Just realized if I give it a good shake, it works. I'm betting a loose solder inside.
  7. I doubt it. Bought on Craigslist, so I don't have original purchase receipt (assuming that's required). Not sure how old the tool is either. I'll probably contact Milwaukee and see what they say just for grins. They've been real good on the things I've sent them before.
  8. I have the M18 hackzall. I bought it used on Craigslist and it's worked great for 5 months until today. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. Checked the battery (5.0 aH) and it showed 3 bars. Locked the safety switch on and off a few times, kept pulling trigger, and still nothing. Got home at lunch and changed out the battery with another 5.0 aH, and it works fine. Put the original battery on another M18 tool to see if that battery was truly bad, but it worked fine. Put the original battery back on the hackzall and then it seems to work fine. Ate lunch, came back out to go back to work and checked the hackzall again... Doesn't work (still had original battery back on it). Swapped batteries, it works, put original back on... It works. I went ahead and put battery #2 on it and threw it in the truck. Got home from work, and now it doesn't work again. Put original battery back on, works fine. All that seems to say... When any battery sits on it for extended time it stops working (why???). Swap the battery and its like it "resets" something. Any ideas TIAcrew before I open this thing up?
  9. It doesn't looked balanced well. Seems like it would be too heavy in the back.
  10. Found a "heavy duty news" PDF on the uk site that showed an interesting page on the 9ah battery. It showed what tools they are considering it for and it shows a miter saw!!
  11. Somebody local needs to keep an eye on the job postings. Might give a hint at what markets/tools they are looking in to.
  12. I saw it in stock at my HD earlier this week marked at $598.
  13. How long has this been out?!?!?! http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Miter-Saw-Stand-48-08-0550/205495105
  14. I think it's a bit steep. Part of it will depend on how good the tool really is, but I trust Milwaukee will be quality. I will probably wait for a special buy that comes with an extra battery or bare tool or something.
  15. Check out what I saw on Milwaukee's website... https://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/corded/7220-20
  16. Anyone have links to a good review, preferably video of this model? I can find ones on the older model with the soft dust bag. I'm trying to see how the discs attach. It sounds like you can use hook and loop or psa. Honestly, I really just want Milwaukee to put out a cordless model.
  17. I used a set of these this weekend and was really impressed how these fly thru steel. I drilled quite a few holes thru some professional grade landscape steel edging and the steel legs of my truck side tool boxes. Found a set of Milwaukee Cobalt Red Helix at HD today for $24.99!!
  18. Great video. You should show how to change the blade. I have a lot of M18 and found this tool at a crazy price, so it was a no brainier, but I don't care for the process of changing the blade.
  19. I just want to know when they're ever going to show up. I thought they were supposed to be here in Jan 2016.
  20. To me, the FUEL is the only one that really feels like the same power as a corded model. And if you're going to go for the FUEL, go 7 1/4 over 6 because price is either the same or sometimes on sale will be cheaper and is much more common to find blades for. I have the FUEL 7 1/4 and am not a contractor, just use for basic home use and it's fantastic. The light doesn't seemed to be placed in the right spot, but it helps some. I'm guessing that's probably the same on all their models. I don't think I've ever regreted spending a bit extra for a better tool, but have often regreted getting a cheap tool.
  21. I hope to see more cordless woodworking products (miter saw, router, orbital/palm sander, etc)
  22. Any idea when the 2016 Milwaukee Product Symposium will be? Isn't it usually in June? I'm anxious to see if there might be any other tool announcements!
  23. This sounds like it would be the most logical explanation. I think people that are truly interested and really benefiting from the OneKey features will be ones that are probably ready to upgrade when the new model comes out anyway. As a DIY homeowner and weekend warrior, my non-OneKey Gen2's will keep me happy for years.
  24. It's really nice. I shaved down a few doors in the house and cabinets in my garage. Also flattened a couple of warped 2x4's.
