Pricey, but one of the best available...

Never seem to find any of them on the used market.

Slightly less, but still decent...

A garage sale or a swap meet during the summer might be your best bet though. I have occasionally found old jointer planes at antique stores in the past, but most of them wanted too much money for the condition they were in.

Or an estate sale, since they are actually for getting rid of things unlike a garage sale where someone may be attached to something and want higher price because they don't want to get rid of it or because it has sentimental value.

Or worse the people trying to make a living running a garage sale business.

Try Lee Valley too, they sell Veritas planes. I have several specialty planes from Veritas and Lie Nielsen and they both make wonderful tools based on the Stanley's as well as there own.

I did purchase a couple of Stanley handplanes on eBay but people ask outrageous prices for planes now. I bought a couple of beater planes, a 4 and 5 to recondition. One of those will go up for a giveaway here maybe of the spring or summer depending on when I get to it.
