Sidchrome drill a rebranded Dewalt?

This might only be of interest to Aussie's but I just came across this Sidchrome drill on clearance on Ebay for only $59 AUD (drill only). I can't find much info about it, but it looks to be a rebranded Dewalt, very similar to the DCD780 but with a metal chuck like the DCD791.

It almost looks like Dewalt and Milwaukee got together and had a drill baby.

Batteries and charger look to be identical to Dewalt.

They're re-branded Mac Tools. Sidchrome,  Facom and Mac Tools are all owned by Stanley Black & Decker just like Dewalt and use its battery platform.

$59 AUD is a really good deal so I've ended up ordering one. It will be the drill that I lend to people.

The 1.5ah batteries are also on Ebay but the prices are too close to genuine Dewalt.

The drill has arrived. Some observations so far:

- Works perfectly fine with Dewalt batteries

- Slightly lighter weight than the Dewalt compact drills (DCD791/796). EDIT: it's actually slightly heavier

- Weight is slightly balanced towards the chuck with a compact 2.0ah

- Forward/reverse switch too small and tucked too far under the curve of the shell (very hard to press)

- Chuck is decent

- Fairly quiet

- Smooth (for brushed)

- Grip is comfortable (thinner than Dewalt but not quite as comfortable)

- Build quality is good with very good rubber overmold

- Feels slightly weaker than Dewalt brushless compacts but is supposed to have 60Nm torque

- Only 5 clutch settings! This is strange

- No belt clip

- Battery fits without rattle

Normal asking prices from Sidchrome and Facom are absolutely ridiculous for this drill. Entirely not worth that.

But, for only $59 AUD (~$45 USD) delivered, this is a bargain. A great brushed beat-up drill to have spare. Check out Ebay (AUS) if any Aussie's want one, there's still 4 left with the seller I bought from.
