DR99 Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Man I couldn't believe the news when I saw it he was only 66 years old. I loved watching his movies as kid, and read his books when I was in middle school. While other kid's were reading tiny paper back books I was lugging around a 1000 page Tom Clancy novel. Plus some of the things talked about were probably a little too mature for me at the time.
RedSionnach Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 He was definitely an awesome author. I may have to dig out The Hunt for Red October, Rainbow Six, or Patriot Games. I haven't read one of his books in a couple of years. He will be missed.
Conductor562 Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 I was always more of the Stephen King type, but sad news nonetheless.
Joe M Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 I'll a little younger than you guys, but I remember when I was 10 playing GHOST Recon on the PS2 and be scared out of my mind when people attacked me.
Eric - TIA Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Wow I can't believe he passed away. I am not a huge reader as you can tell by my writing skills, but always liked his movies based around the books he wrote. I like books that have pop ups or big pictures with not much text
