Altan
I think DeWALT and Makita also have this product.

wingless
My new Bosch RH540M SDS Max rotary hammer included a tube of Bosch 1.615.430.010 grease. My usage of this tool is to clean the bits, including the sliding shaft region, prior to storage. Prior to inserting a bit into the tool, a dab of grease is applied to each shaft groove.

Exactly, It is good to know Bosch provides it together with the tool, I have not seen DeWALT doing it at all.
fyrfytr998
Is it recommended to use a lube on SDS bits? I just got an SDS not too long ago.

What is the tool model number? What does the tool manual instruct?

To be quite honest, I never read the tool manuals, lol. I just watch YouTube videos. It’s the brushless Craftsman clone of the DeWalt. wingless
Hmmm, the Craftsman CMCH233B SDS Plus V20 manual doesn't say anything about greasing the tool shaft.

I’ll give it a read later. Was just wondering if there was a benefit to lubing the bit?

I think it is recommended because it helps the bit to move back and forward easily and it reduces the friction and heating.
