Hawkfan23
Funny you should ask- I had one disassembled and tried that! The screwdriver was what I tried it on and the RPM's went Way Higher, let me tell you. The problem is getting the battery to fit up with the current 12v profile...but it did work, yes. zerox2k02
Wth some sort of adapter fashioned up it would. Otherwise you need a dremel, and a lot of patience.
kjones
As recommended by the factory? Absolutely, unequivocally, absolutely, no. Could I be any more clear than that
tooljoe
nope..standing here with my 20v max battery trying to put it in my 12v max impact...no it won't go in. but i admire the curiosity...today i tried to convert my 18v xrp hammer drill dcd950 to a 20v max drill/driver from a dcd980 premium (non hammer drill). let me tell you...i almost had it but i just need to dremel very few things to make it happen.. if all of a sudden my job requires more drill hamering, i am pretty sure i can convert my DCD950 to a DCD985...
