Shaun_Logica
Hello Tools in Action members! My name is Shaun, and I am co-owner of Logica Tool LLC, based out of Arizona. One of your members “Woodstockva” was kind enough to invite me to your board so that I could share with you a brand new tool we are bringing to market: the HEXtension. Our company, Logica Tool, is a labor of love shared by the two of us, Shaun and Andrew. We’ve been friends since early childhood, which developed into working together once our passion turned to all things automotive. We have had our hand in everything from rust buckets and beaters to high horsepower Camaros and Supras, covering the whole spectrum of automotive repairs and modifications. Throughout our work, we came to realize that a tool is only good if it works for you, rather than the other way around. For this reason, we developed our first product—HEXtension. Working in cramped confines, such as underneath a CT-26 turbocharger or around the number seven spark plug of an F-body, we came up with an idea to design an extension that is more than just added reach. Our tool is designed to allow the user to get a wrench—whether box, open, or other—onto any plane of the central axis, meaning that wherever there is space for a hand, there’s space for a wrench. No more struggling to fit the driver on the very end, or fishing for the right length extension for a particular application. The flexibility is tremendous, and allows for other functions such as putting multiple wrenches on at the same time, increasing torque while also distributing it evenly onto the fastener you are struggling with. The possibilities are limited only by what you can come up with in your automotive applications.Attached you will find images of our tool. Even better would be to visit our website, www.logicatool.com, to check out all the information. We’d love to hear your feedback on our tool. Passionate discussion is what will improve our product so that we can ultimately deliver to you a hand tool that works, that simplifies, and that you’re glad to use. Currently we have threads started at Garage Gazette and The Garage Journal online forums.Once more, thanks for your interest and support. We look forward to hearing from you all.

DR99
Cool little thing you guys have going with that. I don't wrench on cars that often but I could see use on a ton of other things I end up working on.

Andrew_Logica
60$ for both long and short is a okay deal i suppose... Whats the warranty??Frankie, the warranty is lifetime. All our tools go through QC by hand before shipment. We stand behind our product and its durability. The tool price is based on the fact that we use 440C stainless steel and then have it manufactued on a 4-axis machine, followed by hardening and etching. We have been extending a special offer to early adopters on boards such as this one. I believe we still have enough units allocated to offer the same deal here, but I will verify and get that posted for you today. Thanks for the interest. :-)
Andrew_Logica
Why don't you ship the TIA boys a few to review and give away...Hi EEtwidget, We're in contact with a couple of different tool reviewers and we'd love to have TIA take a swing at the tool. Right now we are waiting for our first production run to finish and then ship, so there is still a lead time of four to six weeks. Just as soon as we have them in our hot little hands, they'll go out to be abused.

Conductor562
I love the fact that it's machined rather than cold forged. It has all the abilities of a standard extension, with the added functionality of being wrench compatible. How often is a wrench going to be the best option as opposed to a ratchet? Probably not all that often, but the capability is there if you need it without detracting anything from it ratchetability. The price isn't any more than any other high quality extension and being machined 440, it's probably better quality.
Andrew_Logica
Hey everyone, just an FYI: had a family emergency last night, so I will likely be unavailable over the next couple days. NicholasShetley
Looks great! Have you guys done any strength testing on them yet?
Andrew_Logica
Hey Nicholas. Re: strength testing, we're waiting for our next prototype to come in. We had a long talk with our manufacturer about hardening. It's been a big point that we've been firm on. I want your ratchet to fail before the extension does. Once we get our new prototypes in we'll get the torque wrench and video camera out.
Fazzman
Cool looking stuff. Would be nice if used 4140/4130HT instead of 440C. Or even better A2 or D2 toolsteel. You ever deal with any Northern California machine shops?
Andrew_Logica
Hey Fazzman. The USA manufacturer we're in talks with would be using 4140. No, haven't dealt with any NorCal shops. Got a recommendation?
Andrew_Logica
Got a render for everyone so you can see the beveling that's been added.

Probably not all that often, but the capability is there if you need it without detracting anything from it ratchetability. The price isn't any more than any other high quality extension and being machined 440, it's probably better quality. The HUGE benefit that I see of these tools is the day when you break your last ratchet while working on the only car that you have at the time. You can use a wrench and the HEXtension to finish the job. This way, you'll have more time to bitch at the old lady for needing to take the only running car to buy shoes that she doesn't need!
