DamianD
I got myself a US General Pro also, and never regretted it. Have had it a few years now and no problems.
NicholasShetley
I took a trip to harbor freight today and the pro boxes look great and the drawers move smoothly.
silverado79
I'm thinking of the 56" box good price and lots of room
Frain20
I Cant believe they expect you to get all that for $2100How much are you looking to spend on the box? you should look into getting one custom made (depending on the price)
silverado79
yeah they probably quoted the price with all harbor freight. I'm looking to spend no more than $1000 so i think custom is out
NicholasShetley
Whatever you do just make sure you register for the student discount before you buy your tools.

DR99
The link works for me. Maybe the site was down for a minute earlier.
Conductor562
Starting out, go with the 56" HF box. Excellent value on a nice box. It isn't Snap-On or Mac nice, but it's a fraction of the price and way better quality than anything you'll find at Sears, HD, Lowe's, etc.
NicholasShetley
I will second that Conductor. The snap-on boxes are nice but to me I would never pay the $2300 I would pay for them, let alone the $4500 for full price.
ChrisR
I don't know if they do them in the US but Costco here in the UK offer a box by a company called Homak. I think they are a US manufacturer. The boxes offered here were not super wide but were a 16 drawer combo of roll cab and top chest. BUT they were only asking like £300! So you could have got two sets for under £1000. They were great quality too. Double slides on the big drawers. Good welds and drawer rims all doubled. Apart from the big Homak logo they were as good as a Snap On, the metal work anyway. Not sure if castors are as strong? Certainly better quality than the usual cheap stuff we get here which is all about the £1600-£2000 range from Machine Mart (our equivalent of Harbor Freight.)If they are available at Costco in the US I would have a look at them. NicholasShetley
When my dad went to Nashville auto diesel college the school supplied everyone's tools. Evryone in my program has to buy their own tools and the minimum price is $3100 if you but them through the school. The thing is we have even less tools that are required. Also the kits through the school came with a dinky service cart.

Conductor562
The Homak boxes ChrisR is talking about are nice, and you can get them at Northern Tool.I still say the 56" HF is the best bet starting out though
