Bigmikez
Saw that on the front page, I hope they perfected this time......
chadlanthier
I would be scared to try this again. They did not have great luck last time.
RickyMcGrath
im sure it's been perfected. After the first failure, DeWalt wouldn't rush to release an updated version before they were 100% certain it would be a success. Just a few poor reviews will cause this version to be a failure as everyone will be skeptical.
Bigmikez
hopefully dan and eric or tool crazy/oz/woodstockva can get there hands on it and review for us soon
RickyMcGrath
It looks like CPO is selling them currently. They're a bit more $$$ than the first version.
Bigmikez
REALLY!!?? Wtheck well it seems they feel confident with this one
RickyMcGrath
It's probably just a firmware update. The additional costs are from the labor to reload all the old units that were never sold. Along with trying to recoup some costs associated with the epic failure of units sold and RTV'd. comp56
do they have a trade in program for the first batch to upgrade? or does the company think oh well......buy this one it will work this time...
DR99
I think most people were told to turn in their first gen wall scanners right away. It was removed from stores fairly quickly.
chadlanthier
I'm sure people lost a lot of confidence in these. They should be selling for a lot less, considering the epic failure the first time around.
comp56
well if I owned Dewalt I would give everybody 1.....
Gatorb888
do they have a trade in program for the first batch to upgrade? or does the company think oh well......buy this one it will work this time... If someone has an old one, call 1800-4-Dewalt and they'll replace it I'm sure.
Samuel L.
Anyone know how well the Milwaukee M12 version works.
RickyMcGrath
You need to take that Milwaukee junk over to another part of the forum. Hahaha. J/k. It has pretty good reviews and hasn't been recalled, so it's probably better than the first DEWALT version. http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/2011/02/milwaukee-subscanner-m12-cordless-detection-tool-review/

regopit
Maybe it's me but, I really like to buy one so I went to DeWalts web site and it's not on there yet, I'm going to wait to see how this one plays out and if it it goes without a hitch I'll pick one up. RickyMcGrath
Only place I've found them was CPO. I inquired to verify that they are selling the newest one and they have not responded.

Frain20
Can't wait! Oooo...It's one of those geeky gadgets that nobody actually understands how it works,A device that you just need to buy..I heard its powered by pixie dust & Dewalt made those little people work overtime just because of the shear demand/interest they were receiving over this mystical device..
