Trying to think which of the M12s to get next. Rank the tools you have or want. Top ten, top two, top 50, I don't care how many. Right now at the top of my wish list is the 3/8 fuel impact.

Posted

Here is what I have/had in ranked order....

1) 1/4 hex fuel screwdriver

2) 3/8 hammer drill

3) 3/8 drill driver

4) hackzall

Ranking m12 is tough because I have m18 models of all of these, so the m12 just always feel lacking, especially the hackzall.

All I have are the gen 2 fuel M18's, but am interested in getting into the M12. I will start out with either the 1/4 or 3/8 ratchet and go from there.

I really want the Fuel versions of he Hackzall and Drill/driver, I like my non-Fuel versions a lot so naturally I want the upgraded versions. I'd also like the M12 jigsaw. Still haven't decided after returning my malfunctioning M12 oscillating tool whether I want the M12 or M18 oscillating tool.

For me the only way to rank them is order of use- most to least, I can't say theres a best to worst ranking, I agree with comp they're all no. 1...

M12:

Used most 1/4" impact driver

Flashlight

Heated jacket

Propex expander

Copper tubing cutter

Pvc pipe shear

Multi tool

Hackzall

3/8" ratchet

Caulk gun

Right angle drill

Palm nailer

Vacuum

M-spector inspection camera

Grease gun

Rotary tool

Least used 1/4" hex driver

I could do with a couple more m12 tools lol

Its like buying a full size pick up with a  v6, 2 wheel drive and a stick shift.

With that being said I pick it up for like 75 bucks and it cuts nice, buts its a very basic saw.  No variable speed, no orbital, but its not a bad little saw, its small and pretty powerful, I actually cut some letters out for stocking hangers all with that saw and they came out pretty nice.  Its good for quick cuts when I don't feel like pulling my bosch out but if you want a really nice cordless jig go bosch.

don't forget the m12 scissors, if you hold a m12 battery in one hand and use the scissors in the other it will cut better...just sayin.....

3/8" impact wrench Fuel

Impact driver Fuel

Hammer drill Fuel

Hackzall brushed

Right angle drill brushed

In order of most used to least

Want:

OMT

Fuel screwdriver

Rotary tool

European market 1/2" impact wrench

Ratchets 1/4" and 3/8"

So my buying list is

1. 3/8 fuel impact wrench

2. Right angle impact $100HD

3. Right angle drill( combo deal with wrench $200 HD)

4. Vacuum $60

Stuff that I'd buy but can't get myself to:

1. Stick light. At $80 bare tool it is twenty more than my 20v DeWalt stick.

2. Spot light: $70 bare tool it is more reasonable but still $10 more than the lantern.

2. Fuel impact driver, screw driver and hammer drill. Already have the full sized dewaults and m12 3/8 drill/driver.

Here is my M12 list so far:

1: Fuel sds rotary hammer drill

2: Fuel 1/2" impact wrench (eu only at the moment)

3: Led lantern/flood light

4: Polisher/sander (haven't used much yet)

5: Fuel circular saw (absolutely bottom pick, haven't found any real good use to it yet. It seems to struggle in any material, even 12mm plywood)
