stainlessstroker95
Smart phones are tools too right? I would think most on here use a phone so I wanted to share one I found. Cat or caterpillar has been making phones for years. And they are tough and not cheaply made. The newest one they came out with has a flier thermal imaging built in. And this past January they teamed up with Verizon wireless here in the US. I had the s50 for a couple days when it first came out, but AT&T shut me off cause it wasn't a approved phone by them. Check them out guys. new thermal imaging phone http://www.catphones.com/en-us/phones/s60-smartphone New phone but not thermal imaging http://www.catphones.com/en-us/phones/s50c-smartphone available at Verizon http://www.catphones.com/en-us/news/press-releases/cat-s50c-launches-with-verizon-connectivity

comp56
these days it seems smart phones are main stream Samsung has a rugged model not sure it will fit the bill... The phone is shockproof and IP68 certified, meaning it is dust and water resistant up to 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. It's also MIL-STD-810G certified which means it can withstand salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock.

BMack37
I wish my phone had thermal imagining! That's an awesome idea to include it in a phone.
T75R
Looks like an awesome phone but I'm not sure it would be as capable as most other comparable phones
Mondo1310
Cat has stepped up their smart phone game. The built in flir is awesome. Good thing I don't need anything that rugged but glade their is opinions for people who really need them. What's the price point for the S60?? Poisonfangs85
Very James Bond-ish! I don't know if the caveman in me could stray from iPhone...it's the dumbmans smartphone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I went from iPhone to Android back to iPhone, the reasons: The Apple app store, no major bloatware and the speed of charging. I like Windows 10 as a mobile OS but the app store is horrendous, just no support.
Stercorarius
I have the rugged version of the S5 and it works pretty well. It can call, text, open Tapatalk, and run periscope.
stainlessstroker95
I'm not sure if the 60 is out yet. But that flir is a really cool feature. I don't think I would use it to its full potential. But it is nice to know that the technology is out there for the guys that could use it. It bugs me that most other phones are so brittle when you know they can be made so much better.
DR99
I would love to see more durable phones on the market. The amount you spend on them they should be. I like iPhones just because of simplify of use. I hate to say it but it just works for me.

DR99
I just worry about long term OS support as its really just some company selling the phone with CAT branding on it
Stercorarius
I just worry about long term OS support as its really just some company selling the phone with CAT branding on it Same here. Is it an Android based phone or do they have their own OS?
DR99
It's probably some flavor of android with their own UI on top I bet
BMack37
That's my assumption as well, I really can't imagine it not being Android.
JimboS1ice
I'm an apple whore, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad and Mac book air, they work together seamlessly which is really awesome. Had a bad experience with android early on in their life with an HtC, I'm sure it's better now but why switch. Flir in that phone looks sweet would be pretty awesome to have. Fazzman
If I didnt have a Samsung S5 already and didnt have to switch from Tmobile I might scope one out. S5 does everything I need it to do.

stainlessstroker95
I think there is definitely a limit to what a phone should do. But I guess they try to appeal to everyone so they add so many features.
