  1. I love my little m12 hackzall. I do like the features of the Dewalt though also the how it pivots is pretty awesome. My plan is to have as few battery platforms as possible. It' would be pretty cool if Milwaukee made an adapter to use 2 m12 batteries on an m12 tool like makita has with the 2 18 volts equaling 36 volts. The only problem I see with my idea is the tool could be awkward to use unless you could figure out a good slidepack to the m12 plug style converter.
  2. This could be a huge seller for Milwaukee The problem is Home Depot has no jackets to try on in store so you can get the sizing right plus people need to see it in person to get an idea on how it works. Milwaukee really should have a nice kiosk so you can order the m12 jackets and even get the embroidering done on the high vis models, and besides dealing with the jackets it could be used for ordering tools that a local store would never inventory. I bought 3 different sizes to try, and you should have seen the reactions from the csr people they had no idea anything like this was out. I also get a ton of people asking me why my jacket glows in the middle of winter they love the idea with the packs having the ability to power cordless tools.
  3. Yea they did put out a new version of the existing jobsite radio it didn't change too many things. The big thing is makita has so many specialty 18v tools no one else has like a concrete vibrator, or a legit battery powered miter saw.
  4. Yea I have no idea why Dewalt hasn't release a multi tool considering they could borrow the one from Porter Cable, Yea being an early adopter to the 20v max line was kinda dissapointing. I was think new releases ever 6 months it ended up being ever year some new tools were released. The 20v lineup is pretty solid now except for some powered caulk guns and trim nailers they pretty much have the same number of tools as the old xrp line
  5. I never got why Dewalt left out some kind of battery gauge on the launch of the 12v 20v max tool lines. It was supposed to be this huge new push into this new tool line and the early adopters are the ones that got hosed they did release batteries with gauges a year or so later.
  6. I did see something new from my local HD they have started to stock some Makita Bare tools they never did that before.
  7. I don't think Makita has updated their cells as often as the other companies. I know part of the problem for Milwaukee was some of the first generation cells were horrible. I think milwaukee is on their 4 or 5 th generation of battery tech now, and most other companies have moved on to newer cells with better cold weather performance.
  8. I have the coat and the M18 power port I have 4 slim and 4 xc batteries too choose from there. Just seems like I have too many batteries floating around lately.
  9. I probably need 1/2 of that for the kind of work I do. Should I try and Sell the whole lot for one price, or would it be better to break it down too one changer and one battery for 30 bucks. I Just ordered the new 12v fuel kits with the free battery deal so I will have 4 2.0 ah and 2 4.0 ah packs. I only need like maybe 3-4 of the old ones I Might just sell my old Drill and impact set with 4 batteries and 2 chargers for like 150 175 on craiglist. Just trying to make sure I don't end up losing a ton of money before they loose all their value on the used market.
  10. Well I returned my bare tool m12 fuel purchases and bought them in kit form for the 40 extra bucks it was worth it plus getting a free 2.0 and 4.0 battery sealed the deal for me.
  11. Yea that's the only thing that really sucks about the exclusivity deals Home Depot has with Makita and Milwaukee. Ryobi and Rigid were not bad as exclusives to them, but they pretty much have a good chuck of the power tool market with all the brands that are exclusive to the HD now.
  12. Freud Diablo is what I have used most of the time haven't had any problems with them.

    Bosch ciso cordless

They don't sell the Bosch green tools in the USA yet. The only way you could get it is ordering it from a store in the uk plus the cost of a voltage converter for the charger they use a different voltage over there. The best bet I can think of is a pruning blade on a cordless sawzall unless you really want to spend the money to get that specific tool.
  14. Not any hand tool socket sets yet they do have case hardened sockets for impact drivers and impact wrenches though
  15. I was just thinking about how it was going to work against made in the usa craftsmen tools compared to the mixed coo of Dewalts.People tend to buy made in the usa when the price is close or cheaper. http://www.coptool.com/dewalt-mechanic-hand-tools-complete-sets/#more-2047 This is where I got my info about these sockets. Bear in mind Coptool does sell tools so they are not an impartial entity regarding this.
  16. Well from what I have read they are not made in America so I doubt they will have the same quality as the other higher end Stanley brands. Plus being only sold at sears is really wierd I still don't get that how many people still shop at sears at this point?
  17. I didn't even know they were doing this in store I though this was an online only offer. Thanks for updating people on it I know a lot of people who still like to buy tools in person rather than online.
  18. Also, hit up garage sales and craiglist you can find the good old stuff for cheap sometimes I would be careful with power tools but hand tools its a nice way to build up a nice collection cheap.
  19. I think the Lowes that is the closest to me is done once the menards they are building right now opens up. Menards has started to open stores in the metro detroit area they were previously in the rural areas of michigan.
  20. There is a difference in the quality between different Home Depot stores and what they stock. It seems to mostly deal with the age of the store with newer stores having a larger selection of tools. One HD by me carries a full line of Bosch tools the other 2 might just have a few random bosch tools like the rotohammers, jigsaws, routers, and grinders mostly their corded tools nothing cordless at the older stores. While lowes is pretty consistent on what tools they stock in each store

    Foam

Well glad that I was able to help because I was shocked at how much some places were trying to charge for some foam $40 bucks for a piece of it is fucking insane sorry if swearing isn't allowed here but it just shocked me.

    Foam

It's called pluck and pick foam and here is a site that has it cheap.I don't know if 2 inches is deep enough for what you want to do though http://www.onlinefabricstore.net/foam-and-pillows/foam/packing-foam/case-foam/charcoal-pick-and-pluck-foam-2-10-5-14-5-.htm?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&s_kwcid=TC|1027047|{keyword}|{placement}|{ifcontent:C}{ifsearch:S}{ifmobile:M}|{matchtype}|{creative}&cvsfa=2700&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=3732313935&gclid=CK2dzYPq0bYCFaYWMgodt3AApg
  23. Home depot has a m12 fuel tool deals for online purchases the best deal is the drill kits you get 1 2.0 ah battery and 2 4.0 ah batteries with the purchases of the kit. You know the free batteries take the bit out of buying a kit instead of a bare tool. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-FUEL-12-Volt-Brushless-1-2-in-Hammer-Drill-and-Driver-Kit-with-Free-4-0-Red-Lithium-Ion-Battery-2404-22-48-11-2440/204235344#.UW6Rf8q2Ul8
  24. Dewalt and Milwaukee have 2 different methods of releasing tools dewalt just seems to let tools trickle out and milwaukee releases a whole new line at once. They had 5-6 new m12 fuel tools launch this winter.
  25. When I bought my m12 clamp meter of cpo it was listed as having a red lithium battery included with the kit according to their webpage, but what shipped had the old non lithium battery they handled it just fine and shipped a red lithium battery out right away. You just have to be more through with refurbished tools.
