  1. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZc6ot/h_d2/Navigation?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051 The M18 impact and sawzall is on sale today the m18 impact compact set with and extra 2.0ah battery for 139. The sawzall is 99 dollars
  2. Yea it was pretty bad when it took Dewalt 3 years to get a new jobsite radio. I would say now the 20v max line is pretty filled out now with this last batch of tools they released. I know Makita or Hilti was the first with some brushless tool offerings Hilti isn't really relevant, but Milwaukee was the first one to really push it mainstream with some serious marketing. I know Milwaukee burnt some bridges with the v18 line being discontinued so quickly. Now that Dewalt has the basic's on the 20v line they can start to add the specialty tools like nailguns and other things. It's pretty crazy that they don't have a Dewalt multitool though corded or cordless they could just used the porter cable version in the short term
  3. Now that slide on pack works great on the Dewalt 12volt reciprocating saw.
  4. Yea it's pretty crazy how dominant Dewalt was at one time regarding cordless tools during the nicad era. Yea the other brands were around but that 18v xrp line just dominated it was great marketing by them. They really lost it during the lion revolution they were kinda slow getting onboard with it most of the lion tools didn't sell too well till the 20v max launch. Yea the free battery or tool deal wasn't nearly as common back then as it is now.
  5. It amazed me that my 12v redlithium compact packs had more more amp hours than the 12v dewalt packs considering that they were slide on pack and were larger. I really like that Milwaukee is including xc packs with the fuel drills
  6. Wish I had the extra cash right now. I really want a tool organization system like the L-box, Tstack or toughbox. I would love to have an every day cart of all the tools I need on most projects just grab the whole cart or just a few of the boxes. I don't know how pro's can work being so unorganized.
  7. I bet we will see some flashlight's and diagnostic tools like a multimeter and thermometer on the 8v platform. I have to agree with the slide pack issue now it makes the tools larger than other brands 12v tools. The only thing is I did have the old M12 drill and impact I have smaller hands so the grip was kind of uncomfortable, but with the redesign on the Fuel versions of the Impact and Drill they really solved that issue big time. I wonder if this 8v line was started because of the milwaukee 4v line of tools that's rumored to be in development. Milwaukee has a screwdriver out right now. Plus the can steal from the Ryobi Tek4 and the craftsmen 4v line http://toolguyd.com/craftsman-4v-cordless-tools/ the tek4 line kinda flopped except for a few tools and the craftsman line was discontinued right away. One crappy thing about the dewalt 12v line the ah rating on the dewalt 12v batteries are really low if you get and older pack before they updated the cells they can either be 1.3ah or 1.5ah. Has any one used the gyro drivers are they really worth it or its it more of a gimmic?
  8. I'm a Paslode fan when it comes to the cordless nailers. Nothing wrong with the Senco Fusion though. I was hoping to see that new Ryobi Cordless 18ga nailer reviewed by now if it works good nothing comes close at the 129 price it's selling for as a bare tool.
  9. If you do end up replacing it Bosh has a lot of nice corded and cordless tools from their green line. That's stuff that sometimes ends up making it over here as a skill or bosch product, but a a lot never does.
  10. Wayne is only one other guy from the UK that posts on this board I don't know if he has dealt with using Ryobi tools and their warranty. The only other think is to post on their social media pages for their UK customers if they have them. In the end it's a question of how much effort do you want to put into fixing this drill I know it sucks but it might be worth it long term buy something else. Plus it looks like It's not an every day tool for you so it's hard to justify the cost of a more expensive tool.
  11. Well these are the tools they are selling today only for fathers day. They are really more Diy than TIA grade tools, but yea never know for a gift. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/ContentView?pn=PM_Special_Buy_ofThe_Day&storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&cm_sp=Homepage-_-5_30-_-Row1_A-_-SBOTD
  12. When I wanted to upgrade from my ryobi tools Ridgid was the first brand I bought, but I did end up taking it back because like you mentioned back then was the trim nailer and radio. Plus the trim nailer really wasn't that great from what I read. They just added lately a 18v jobmax powerhead and grinder over the past few months. I dunno why the who AEG line isn't sold as ridgid here they are the exact same tools except for the name they slap on it.
  13. Yea I'm just surprised that's what happened I assumed all the M12 Fuel tools were being released at the same time as the new battery packs were being released. He must have a really early tool then.
  14. That's what I though conductor, but the only thing that confused me was I though all the new M12 fuel drills were being released with the new packs. I know that can happen more often with milwaukee tools because they don't put a new model number out like say dewalt when a higher capacity pack comes out. I know that could happen with the M18 fuel products very easy they were released a year before the new ah battery packs came out. I just thought from what I read the m12 fuel tools were getting the new ah packs right away with no overlap.
  15. I just looked at the cardboard box mine came with it lists 10x motor life, 2xpowe,r 4xrutime, on it and contains on the bottom a list on whats included 1 4.0xc and 1 2.0 battery what does the bottom of your box say or if you have the chance to possible take a picture of it. The M12 fuel impact you bought has the new batteries? One other thing I though of was maybe there was some kind of government testing/certification they haven't completed. But that sounds strange if the impact has the new batteries and the drill didn't I'm really stumped on this one. I would take a picture of my box but my phone is out getting repaired it died this previous Sunday I was so pissed.
  16. I have the Hammer drill version of that kit and it had the new 2.0 and 4.0 ah batteries. You might be able to get Milwaukee to send you the correct batteries, or just return it and wait awhile while they restock. Was the kit cheaper than the normal retail price? I was wondering if they were trying to get rid of the old batteries. Were any of the batteries in plastic bags, and was there any wear of the batteries? It could be some one swapped out batteries. The packaging thing is interesting. I had something similar happen when I bought a clamp meter off cpo and it had a non redlithium battery in the kit when it was supposed to be in it they send out a red lithium battery to correct the problem and didn't ask for the old battery back The other thing is just it was a straight up factory error. I really love the drill and hope they can fix the issues that your having the thing is so powerful for it's size you really question the need for 18 volt tools for a lot of uses.
  17. What's pretty cool is the actor who played that character is actually a professional wood worker in real life. It's probably more of a hobby now though. This is a video tour of his shop.
  18. Funny video about making rings from Parks and Recreation.
  19. Yea buying two new M12 fuel kits kind of did me in money wise for buying new tools. I couldn't miss the free battery deal though.
  20. I really wish I could justify a rotohammer a plain ole percussion hammer drill does most of the stuff I do just fine small tapcons and anchors. When I borrowed one though I do see the benefits though they just plow though cement like butter and they are not nearly as obnoxious sounding. BTW nice review Wayne having a guy on the other side of the pond lets us see tools we don't get which is fun and interesting but kinda sucks we can't get them, or we get an early sneek peak of future tools we might see.
  21. Natural gas is pretty cheap right now and its so easy to use you just flick the thermostat over and you got heat. If you really wanted to be fancy you could get a wifi thermostat for 100 bucks and put the temp up before your even in the garage. I love the smell of a wood stove, but im too lazy to deal with the work that goes with it. I have 2 8 foot high output flourecent lights in my garage and love it they fire up just fine even when the garage is freezing in the middle of a michigan winter. How would you bury a compressor though the logistics of it seem kinda crazy I'm not trying to insult anyone by asking.
  22. Yea they should take lowes coupons with out question. The Harbor Freight is the one that seems to be really hit or miss, and any printed coupons some stores freak out on. There was an issue of some stores not taking Coupons that Home Depot sent via email for some one to print out.
  23. Home depot has the rule that they take competitors coupons like Lowes for the most part, but some stores will take Harbor Freight coupons also. Home Depot has no relation to Harbor Freight.
  24. Yea the Harbor Freight coupon deal is something you have to do at the store.
  25. If you need a cordless framing nailer this is the time to get it the cheapest price I saw online was $359. If you can get them to stack on a 10% off coupon it would be ever better. It would be a smoking deal if you can get them to take the 20% off Harbor Freight coupon that all depends on the store though some people have really good luck others strike out. I personally never tried the Harbor Freight coupon matching deal. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Paslode-CF325-Li-ion-Cordless-Framing-Nailer-902600/202874989?N=14n#.UaASpMogtv8
