  1. I think Dewalt had a better write-up about the UWO rating on their site a couple of years ago. This is all they have now. http://www.dewalt.com/featured-articles/power-tools-what-does-torque-rating-really-mean.aspx
  2. You guys just wait til Milwaukee comes out with their 18v brushless fuel glue gun. It'll smoke the rest of these!!!!
  3. I was trying to find a story I read on a photography blog, he fought a plagiarist by changing the picture links to porn pics. I'll keep trying to find it. Here are a couple other links. http://wordful.com/how-to-fight-blog-plagiarism-guerrilla-style/ http://www.orbitmedia.com/blog/web-content-plagiarism/
  4. Unfortunately a lot of this kind of crap happens on the web. I've seen whole blogs copied. They slap a new logo and a different by line and poof instant blog with out all that pesky work and knowledge stuff. It's not much solace but at least you got credit.
  5. It's people like him that keep me away from owners group forums. I want neither a company mans nor zealotous fanboys "opinion". Most everybody has their favorite brand, and will develop a certain amount of loyalty to that company based on their experiences. ALL companies have have their pros and cons, folks that are extreme in their brand loyalty are blinded to this fact and deny themselves better products for their narrow mind. I happen to like Dan and Erics videos because of the banter and goofing off. They act like normal guys, just a couple of buddies telling you their opinion. Are they the most technologically indepth? No. Do they script out a review? No. We've all seen and read reviews that are obviously paid for. Do Eric and Dan come off like that? No. They're all over the place, which I doubt any company would pay much for. Keep it real guys.
  6. It's red so I figured you Milwaukee guys would like it.
  7. Speaking of strange tool names, we had one of these in autobody class. They're called morgan knockers, it's a weighted slide for a slide hammer. Herbst always told us they used his wife as a model so we shouldn't fondle them or he'd have a problem. lol He was more of a class clown than any of the students.
  8. Ex father in law used to call them allsaws, nail guns were shooters.
  9. Meh. I always take my gloves off to use my phone or tablet or even the handheld at work. Styli are a pain in the ass; not to mention they're just another thing that always seems to get misplaced.
  10. I know, I know, I know. It's Milwaukee, they innovated the bottle opener by putting a wire stripper on it, so of course it should cost $10-$15. The thing is we always gripe about gimmiky stuff, unless our favorite company does it; then we call it innovation and pay through the nose for it. No thanks. I'll stick to my pencils that I seem to always get for free or my $1 5 pack of Sharpies at the dollar store, and my 97¢ bottle opener.
  11. I'm not sure that branding a sharpie and a stylus is very innovative. It's just like the bottle opener, it's stamped with their name and cost more than the 50¢/$1 it should actually cost.
  12. Their saws look similar, except that panasonic doesn't have a 36v recip. Imo none of the drill/drivers look the same.
  13. Yes you can. You need to click the full version button, then you will be able to see the follow button on the left hand side at the top. Sometimes it doesn't work. Don't know if it's an android thing.
  14. Oh boy. Good luck you're gonna need it. Sounds like this kid lacks commonsense.
  15. I agree with Conductor. The only other options I see are, hiring a lawn care service, or an arborist to clear out a couple trees.
  16. For me it depends on use and quality. For me any money spent on things like electric grease guns, caulking guns, pipe cutters is foolish. My manual tools work just fine for the amount I use them. If I were more into woodworking, I would want top notch tools; Festool isn't worth the investment for me. When I was logging I tore through 5 pairs of Carhartt pants in my first half season so, after asking around, I sprung almost $400 on two pair of Filson tin pants. They were worth every penny, I made it through 5 seasons with them and they were just broken in, plus I resold them for $200. For most folks that would be an insane amount of money for work pants, for me it actually saved me money. Sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes you pay for a name, hopefully when you balance out price, usage, and quality you get what you need. Of course if money isn't an object then you can buy for status whether it's quality or not. Then there is the fact that no matter the quality of your gear, it doesn't make you better or worse than the next guy, what matters is if you have the skills.
  17. My Nicks Woodsman are killer boots. Their Hoffman winter packs are the bomb. One of these days I'm gonna take them in and have the caulk soles replaced, their only for walking on wood and ice. Nothing will screw up your floor worse than traipsing around with your nails on.
  18. That's awesome guys. Thanks TIA and Klein. Congrats everyone else. I'll definitely be putting the meter to use.
  19. Happy New Year everyone. May you find peace, tolerance, prosperity, and love in this new year and always.
  20. When I heard Shipping up to Boston in The Departed I thought it was Flogging Molly. I love that song.
  21. Yeah not a fan of the "testimonials". I want to hear the stuff run, not some crappy background music.
  22. I think it's supposed to be like E GO, just a guess from their logo. The about us section on their web site is pretty vague. No real user reviews yet.Home Depot exclusive it seems. http://egopowerplus.com/ The facebook page has been open since March but no post until December 12. The tools look nice and the prices aren't crazy. 5 year warranty is cool. I guess we'll see later in the year when more people are buying/using them.
