  1. Congratulations wigwag! I've got the top of that chest and it's awesome!
  2. Thank you Justin. It really is an awesome gun so I would highly recommend that beast!
  3. Hey guys! So here it is.....oh, and I threw in another drill for you anti Festool guys.....
  4. Yeah, love the system but for tunes my PB360 can't be beat. Get it? Beat? Huh? Oh yeah!
  5. I'm not sure NaluRash, would mot surprise me. Those fastback knives are really sweet. I've had one for quite a while, older model, and aside from no blade storage its a great knife and the reinforced belt clip is awesome.
  6. No problems there! What're you building?
  7. Comp, how do you like that planer?
  8. Wow. That is an awesome deal! Great tools too! I ran the 1.5 and 3.0 amps for a couple of years and never had a problem with the batteries. The new 2.0s are really nice though and my 4.0s are fantastic. Especially in my Fuel Hackzall. Goes for quite a while.
  9. Problem with the military and all other services is the preservation of freedom to be allowed to have an opinion. But rest assured there are many people that will always remember their sacrifice. I've been very blessed in my job, I've lost a friend, been to more funerals than I can remember and notice with alarming clarity when a Flag is lowered to half mast Fletcher.
  10. I'm very thankful for his service Fletcher, sorry for your loss dude.
  11. Not sure of its the 3.0. Had doesn't have it on their web site but this is from Milwaukee and it doesn't mention it. If it doesn't say on the box I'd assume 3.0 as they have upgraded the XC to the 4.0. The batteries in the kit are 1.5ah so I'd assume they are phasing out the lower cap batteries. http://www.milwaukeetool.com/power-tools/combo-kits/2494-22
  12. Yup, saw it for $99 in Jume for Fathers Day but it's still a decent value for some high quality compact powerhouses and it comes with the XC battery which is a great battery and I have two of them plus two 2.0s for my two Fuels. $129 is a good deal for those guys, they might go on $99 again at some point but for the $29 extra that's still a great deal.
  13. Nice stuff Mi,e! I was checking those saws out the other day! Might bit nicer than my awesome Milwaukee set I dare say!
  14. Welcome back Don! I'll be in your neck of the woods pretty quick doing a safety audit. Glad to see you back sir!
  15. My Dads old Craftsman 7-1/4" USA made circular saw. He gave it to me when he and my Mom moved to Florida. I replaced the power cord and that thing still works great. I can't get rid of it. He built most of the house I grew up in with that thing.
  16. Hmmmm, could be isolated or maybe it was put in wrong prior to use? Or it could be the chuck failed. I have a for instance though, During my shop relocation, my Brother came over to help me out. He's a pro plumber. I'm not. So i did the heavy work and that included me building a half wall so I set about drilling 30 holes for some larger tapcons 5/8" by 6". The drill worked flawlessly. Got hotter than heck but that a lot of work for a cordless drill. I then got a Lennox 4-1/2" hole saw on a an 18" extension and drilled through my 10" base plate and exterior. Lot of work for a cordless drill, huge amounts of torque and the gun and chuck worked flawlessly. I googled problems with the chuck just prior to responding and for the first three pages, nothing but how to remove the chuck. So....my brother had the same drill without issues and I haven't thus far (hope I don't too!). Sorry I can't help dude! I'm hoping it's an isolated incident and it could've just been a defective chuck.
  17. No prob. kruton, couldn't agree more. It's the rainbow parade of power tools in my shop. Blue, Red, Green, Greener, Yellow. It's absolute chaos. And I'm OCD so I'm in a real pickle.
  18. Justin, sorry dude, just saw this post! Nope.....not a thing wrong with that baby. I'm shooting a quick video of the new Bosch side by side with this to show how it operates and I love the DCD985. USA made and a total powerhouse. Ask my foundation walls
  19. NaluRash......oh boy dude. Your in for a trip if you get that. Make sure you get DC too!
  20. Welcome to the forum Brian. Obeisance to the wife is ALWAYS the right way my friend. Milwaukee is good! You know....sort of
  21. Yeah....I don't agree with that comment. On all parts. Like everyone on this planet, an opinion is an opinion. Even if it is based on prejudice or ignorance. I guess it's like saying a particular individual does not like a particular thing because that person does not know too much about it and does not have any understanding of the fundamental operating system but that particular person heard that it's really expensive and only snobs (like me) own them, so instead of trying an item out the person categorizes it as a frivolous item that only rich jerks buy. Whereas I have a friend who makes custom furniture and believes that the only acceptable power tool out there is blue and green. Plus....being born with natural good looks and a sense of humor (like me....for instance) and not an over abundant purse (check out my profile...I'm actually blue collar....not exactly rich) it is an unfair and overindulgent purchase. But...when offering an opinion to a fellow TiA member, I like to answer more from an experience point of view as opposed to an off the hip point of view without contextual experience on the subject manner at hand. I would offer this as a more well rounded opinion on the ownership of the Festool system. I have a TS55REQ, Kapex, OF1400, OF1010, DF500, PS420 and MFT/3 which operate in perfect harmony with an ideal DC unit and a system of tracks which create perfect, clean cuts, Dados, Rabbits, Mortises (these are things woodworkers find important) etc. in a shop which is quite small in size and each tool is fully mobile. I guess....if I'm going to drop coin on a power tool, I want to know it was made in a Democratic society, where employees are paid a decent wage, in decent working conditions, with top quality materials, that are going to last a life time, backed by an impeccable warranty service that you will probably never....ever....ever...need. And yeah....I don't mind spending money on it. I'm a realist. Just my two cents based on factual experience.
  22. What kind of work are you doing? The question isn't really open to fair discussion without everyone getting their personal opinion in the mix and getting amped up on their own particular flag. Each brand has its merits. I'd disagree that Milwaukee is better though, it really depends on the type of work your doing and what you need for tools. Both are great brands and both are very innovative (Milwaukee more so in my opinion) but there is Bosch and Dewalt too. If your into woodworking, you'd be hard pressed to go Milwaukee when Makita or Bosch and even Dewalt have a greater variety whereas Milwaukee has trade specific tools that put them at the top of those particular lists. Of course I have a rainbow hue of tools centered around my Festools. Milwaukee might be better but EVERYONE knows Festool is the best Period. Oh....and welcome to the forum!
  23. I'd say it's just you Travis, but here in New Hampshire it's just wet. Humid, humid, humid. But hey, that's okay. At least it's not -22 like it was a few months ago!
  24. Why thank you sir. Why thank you, I bow to your West Coast Superiority kind sir! This cup of tea is being tipped to my fellow brother in tools, whilst my crumpet is nodded to the remainder......
