  1. Screwdrivers (more on his workbench) 'Vice Grips' I don't know where the hell the Great Neck came from There's other stuff in there, but nothing very noteworthy...
  2. His one and only ratchet, until I discovered the joy of buying stuff I like for his Christmas presents, LOL
  3. Another I'm guessing this was from a time that Japanese tools were not as well thought of as they are now Goofy little drivers Up until about 15 or so years ago, these were just about all of his sockets Mostly Craftsman. Dang near all of his tools are Craftsman. Exceptions
  4. I was over at my parents tonight, and got a little restless as they were watching TV after dinner, so I ended up in the garage, looking at my dad's tool box. When I was a kid, I just thought this was a Crescent wrench Older adjustable
  5. Yanno, we are learning waaaay too much about your 'business' lately...
  6. Hey, I don't want to hear Jamie's Crying...
  7. Search around at Garage Journal. Those guys friggin' LOVE their PB Swiss...
  8. I'm really fighting the urge to speak in Van Halen puns. Because, you know, 'Everybody Wants Some'...
  9. Sorry, man, I didn't mean to pee on your thread. I came off a little strongly...
  10. So I'm looking to fill out my assortment of 1/4" sockets (finally! Seems like I've been dragging my feet forever) Metric deep SAE standard and deep All 6 point (I'll get the SK mid-length 6 point as well, to match my 12 point Snap On) This will be replacing CM sockets from the 37 dozen piece kit I bought in the mid '90s. Dull chrome, and I can't read the markings any more (damn 47 year old eyes!) plus I've been wanting to give some Proto stuff a try, but can't seem to come up with the extra cash for the ratcheting combos. I have heard at one point the Wright 1/4" stuff only had one detent in the socket (or maybe it's Cornwell). Goofy crap like that drives me crazy, so before I take the plunge, I'm interested in your experience and opinions. Thank you sir!
  11. Send an e-mail to Dan. LOL Nice job, OP!
  12. Wow, how did we go from talking about boobies to gaming? LOL. Typical nerds...
  13. I have some Felo Ergonics and some Wihas, I like 'em both. I've not tried them, but PB Swiss have an excellent reputation. Another suggestion: Williams black hard handle drivers. Seriously, when you get to this level, Pops needs to go and fondle whatever he's looking at. The tools are all good, but there's going to be more of a difference on how the tool works IN HIS HANDS.
  14. http://toolguyd.com/makita-18v-oil-pulse-impact-driver/ toolguyd has a news item on a new (and questionable if it's coming to the US) IMPULSE driver from Team M. Less torque, more speed.
  15. Really, Chris, what you need to do before you get the saw is install enough lights in your shop to light up a Van Halen concert stage...
  16. Man, I'm turning into a cranky old bastard. My first thought was, "man, all that juice recharging in two minutes, that's going to put a huge strain on the power grid!" Sounds like cool technology, but the initial power has to come from somewhere. That's part of the reason I don't really like electric cars. Owners can pat themselves on the back all they want, but they really aren't as green as they think they are.
  17. Yeah, they are big, but realistically, the bed will only be 2.5' longer than my current truck, and the cab should (should!) be similar. I have a CJ7 and the GF has a Volvo sedan if we need to go downtown for any reason. And if I throw a canopy/topper on it, I can sleep in back if need/alcohol consumption dictates...
  18. Well, this should keep me from jumping ship: http://toolguyd.com/best-cordless-impact-drivers/
  19. Does anybody have the plans you could forward to me? It doesn't look like the OP has been here for about five months, and I'm thinking I want to try to build a shadowbox picture frame to display the various surveying monuments I've collected over the years... Thanks guys.
  20. I hope you're talking about cordless... I'm pretty happy with my M12 stuff, and my lone M18 drill/driver, but I keep fondling the Bosch, Makita, and DeWalt stuff at the store, and I have a serious hankerin' to jump into the IR IQ20v system...
  21. Oh, I probably won't. For $10 more I can get the Milwaukee combo kit with the hammerdrill AND the impact driver. Not to mention not needing another damn charger.
  22. Naked with 4.75" heels? I dunno, man...
