  1. ..... and the Makita track saw spanks flexvolt, but I do like my dcs577 1800. Very handy
  2. Makita 18vx2 or 36 volt doesn’t cut it compared to Dewalt 60 volt. That’s a laugh. Makita is equal and/or better. I own many of both. Sawzall, Makita better. Blower, Makita better, chain saw, equal . Rear handle circular saw, equal (Dewalt has more power, Makita more run time, note both have more than enough power, Makita is easier to use). Miter saws, equal just different strokes for different folks. Each system has its points. Makita uses one battery and focuses on compatibility and fast charging batteries, more power by doubling batteries and run time. Dewalt is focusing on max power and adding runtime to 20 v tools. But really both companies are making good tools. Makita has some better tools, better cordless jig saw, router, sander, plate joiner, etc the Makita sub compact may win no spec sheet c9ntests but they feel good in hand. I feel so far some flexvolt are surprisingly good, that massive right angle drill and grinder and some are a missed opportunity like the table saw, it just does not have enough run time along with the compressor. Both should be 60vx2. Dewalts new 20vx2 lawn mower could be foreshadowing as Dewalt sees the light that 36 v x 2 is enough power but better run time. Dewalt is truly better in only one way marketing and brainwashing.
  3. Really like to see it next to the latest paslode framer. Which I find to be quite good.

    TD171D

I find the xdt170 and the dewalt 887 very close. The main difference is the makita is smoother(less vibration), less wiggle in the chuck, and quieter. For this it just feels better in hand. Also Makita battery fits snugger in impact, less wiggle and batteries charge faster. I also find Dewalts cold weather performance to lag behind others.
  5. Do not hold your breath for all the 60v x2. Like vacuum, table saw, etc
  6. Better than that overpriced festool garbage.
  7. Plug it into Dewalt power station
  8. I find it easy to hold. Pretty smooth. The stroke is shorter than a full size sawzall.
  9. Would be cool if hitachi and metabo shared a battery platform.
  10. I bought it. So far I like it. It’s like a sawzall but a jig saw. My first use was finishing the cuts on stair stringers. I actually found it accurate and a joy to use.

    Mmm. Huh ?

That way that guy doesn’t have to learn the right way. It’s just programmed for him. Smart tools dumb workers.

    Flexvolt problem

Ok I give in. I loaded all my batteries, dewalt and Makita into 2 bags. Inside every cold night to charge or not 😁✌️

    Flexvolt problem

No problem. Check out his post after the video review of the dewalt framer on the work shop addict site. Sorry guys I called as I see it.

    Flexvolt problem

So what do you do if it’s 25 out. Buy a special heater bag for your batteries. Makita says their batteries are good to -4. Who cares how powerful flexvolt is ignite cannot take the cold. I like many of Dewalt’s tools but they got to work. I just replaced my dewalt impact with the Makita xdt12. Man the Makita is nice.

    Flexvolt problem

The battery heated up quickly and charged. It’s a too sensitive to cold in my mind. The batteries should work for me I should not work for my batteries.

    Flexvolt problem

Rookie? So I live in New York. I guess flexvolt is for warm weather only. I am expected to work below 32. It was 26 not -26.

    Flexvolt problem

I left a 60 volt battery in my truck overnight. It was in need of charging. It was 26 degrees when I got up this morning. Note it was not over drained I was using the flexvolt circular saw and it ran down to one bar and stopped once. Tried to charge it. No go too cold. I think this is a weak point of dewalt batteries. Might have to have more makita 18v x2. As a side note the 3 bar indicator on the dewalt batteries stinks. 4 bars is much better.
  18. It’s like being a double agent
  19. Well mine cuts perfect. Make sure the blade is parallel to the slide bars. It is fixable if the blade is not, i my opinion.
  20. And I work for makita too. I like both systems. The makita cordless track and router are debomb. I like the flexvolt table saw, the miter is a great framer and outdoor saw, the right angle drill is a beast along with the grinder. I lust after that made in japan 4 speed impact by makita. These tools are so good by both dewalt and Makita it makes festool irrelevant.
  21. I like my flexvolt recipro saw except no hook. I find it much better than the fuel.
