  1. That depth guide sure likes under built on the dewalt monster. The makita looks beefier. An6 thoughts ?
  2. On the fog site. Under other tools. I am not good at internet stuff. Seriously it takes 5 minutes to fix.
  3. Some say the makita is better in the hand, easier to cut straight. What say you?
  4. In the festool forum there is a thread about the ls1019l blade not being parallel to the slide bars. It takes 5 minutes to fix. Check it out. I doubt the bars are bent but slightly twisted. The thread is in the other tools topic.
  5. So much hate on Makita In terms of new tools my new cordless makita track saw has excellent battery life even with those outdated 18700 cells. I got a lot of flexvolt which I like. I do not find the battery life on my dewalt impact even with the 5 amp to be anything special, I have to admit that the top of the line makita the one made in japan with 4 speeds sure feels good but I do not own it. I think dewalt and makita are both so good now there is no need for that over priced retired lawyer hobbyist festool crap, and it looks like Bosch is coming on and Hitachi is trying to make a comeback . please take my opinions with a grain of a salt as none of us actually own any of these companies.

    Dewalt chain saws

Using both saws almost everyday. I will say it again. They rock. Narrow gauge chains and aggressive oiling from saw helps. I have yet to try the makita. But the makita track saw and router are killer. Festool, who cares !
  7. Arbor dimension is the same. I have used dewalt blades on the makita plunge. Makita and dewalt use same size blade and festool is slightly smaller. But all use the same arbor size. 20mm I do believe.
  8. I use the dewalt blades on the plunge saws and I think they are good.
  9. Looks cool but 10.6 lbs with 3.0 battery. Claimed 400 shots. Paslode is 7.2 lbs. 9000 shots per battery and 1200 per fuel cell. Maybe could see having both as the paslode does most and the hitachi for heavy duty. Hitachi only good down to 25 degrees. Paslode has come a long way with temp. The paslode is just so light and convenient so for now I will stick with it and pull out the Hitachi pneumatics when I need speed, power, and production. 10.6 lbs ouch.

    Dewalt chain saws

Hey crap these things rock. I am impressed. They are liberal on the chain oil flow. I have not tried the makit yet, but I truly love these little saws and for lighter smaller work I see no reason to go gas anymore.
  11. Framer joe. That was a really weird post. ?
  12. Ford Chevy ford Chevy ford Chevy. Why choose between Makita and dewalt invest in both. Festool now that except for a couple of tools is for rich retired guys to make hobby furniture in there little shops.
  13. Actually, I find that I am constantly using the track saw when dust collection is not necessary. For instance when set up outside. That's why the festool bag for its track saw is so good, it catches dust but no cords. I find the hardest thing about the track saw is dealing with the cords and will only use the tethers when I have to.
  14. Big deal they slapped the battery on the track saw. Still no positive stop at 45, no scoring feature, still need a screw driver to adjust slop out of rails and no good dust bag(what's the point of a cordless track saw that still has a cord i.e. Vacuum hose. Just saying. I appreciate many of the 60v tools and use them but I expected more and better by now. For instance I do expect rafter hook add on accessories, do the right thing dewalt. I do expect the next sawzall to have the 4 position blade holder. Why should dewalt not strive to be better. I try to do the same for my customers. So sorry for being a whiner I guess I just have higher standards than most.😘
  15. Technically it's a 60v platform but apologizing for desalts failure to make 2x60v tools is silly. Makita's appeal is 2x18v to make more powerful tools with existing batteries. Part of the whole sales pitch of 60v was some tools would be 60vx2 or 120v D.C. Dewalt was making us night the bullet on a new battery platform so some tools would be corded or cordless like the dhs790. No need to use batteries when set up for long periods. So where is the full size compressors, table saws, vacuums, etc.... in other words almost all new 120v dewalt tools could be flexvolt. Go corded or cordless. I bought in and am disappointed in the lack of 60vx2 tools with a corded option especially now that no 60v convertor is being made 😩
  16. Dewalt only needs one thing Add on hooks ! Especially for sawzall
  17. I have the flexvolt and m18 fuel. This is how I see it, the flexvolt feels more solid, like a corded model. It feels more more powerful, no matter the tests I have seen what I have experienced is that I like the flexvolt better in hand and have felt no difference in vibration and I find the blade holder to hold better than the m18 especially with the teeth facing backwards. The m18's advantages are the hook and ability to use a smaller i.e. Lighter battery so it can be more convienant when doing up high work or working off a ladder. BIG NOTE TO DEWALT: Make a add on hook! It will sell.
  18. As y'all know I bought the milwaukee 2734 and returned it and bought the dewalt dhs790. I figured the dewalt would be the exterior trim and frame saw. But I just completed a rift sawn white oak wall with quirk detail job with the dewalt. I am impressed ! I was set up for a while so I used the ac adaptor and vacuum. I really like the seamless ability to plug in and use dust collection. I have spent time with the dws780, and the dhs790 may look the same but the new saw is better in these ways, more power, blade gets up to speed faster and quick brake, and smoother slides. I may just purchase another one. I wil try to post some pictures next week. I also went a little crazy and decided to purchase 20v and flexvolt stuff to take advantage of the sales. I sold some m18 tools on the fence about others. Here's my take: I like the dewalt impact better, its lighter, faster, and feels better in hand. I do not need the fancy functions on the milwaukee. The dewalt compact drill and 995 are jems, love the 20 minute light feature. I never liked the milwaukee's with their crappy chucks. I sold the m18 grinder got the flexvolt grinder, definitely a step up in power. The m18 7 1/4 circular saw has been good but I wish I had purchased the 6 1/2 as these saws are really not powerful enough to replace ground corded saws. The dewalt is defiantly a corded repalcement, its only miss is no raftor hook but its a ground saw for me. I may keep the milwaukee for up high stuff with the 5.0 battery. One thing I never liked on the milwaukee was the loosey goosey bevel adjust ( I modified it with a bolt). The dewalt is solid. I have yet to put the flexvolt sawzall to the test, it will have to be great to push the m18 out, although the one thing I do not like about the m18 is that the blade does not lock in as solid in the reverse position ie teeth up. I have not seen such a disparity in run times as other reviewers on the web. As a side note I repurchased the 2734 but returned it again. The second unit had less bearing play (but still had flex in the rear position-too much for a 10" saw but acceptable for a super portable quicky saw). The miter lock out of the detentes was still not super solid. It went back because the blade was not parallel to the slides. If I was in the m18 system I could see having this saw, but its just a little too cheapy for me at this point- I do not mean to offend by this as its just my 2 cents. I have heard a rumor that makita is soon to lauch a 18v x2 10" dual bevel.
  19. so you paid an extra $100 to be a beta tester. These companies should be paying you to buy one key and similar...
  20. Whatever. Boo. Hooo. That's right I think it sucks. Deal with it. I can say what I want and so can you. The more connected we are at work the less we can think for ourselves. So go ahead program away your skills. I will stick with being a Neanderthal.
  21. the more often ones phone stays in ones pocket the more in the moment one is
  22. one key is retarded return it save money be a human set the controls manually
  23. Makita is just like the festool, but with more capacity, scoring feature, and anti tip feature. Downsides too short of a cord, more difficult blade change. The Dewalt has same capacity as Makita. I love it's plunge action. Downside is need screwdriver to eliminate slop to rail, not tool less. The rail for 8' sheets is oddly too short, must do a plunge to cut full length. Dewalt quick clamps for rail are awesome.
