  1. I have 2 Dewalt corded drills. my older 3/8" one model no. DW106 5.4 amps Ive had for around 15 years or so,comfy to use plenty of power for smaller stuff on the bench. My newer Dewalt corded 1/2" drill model no. DWD210G 10 amps is a freakin beast and it plows thru stuff. Always nice to have some good corded stuff.
  2. Lol, smokin a drill. nice. I may have a piece large enough that POS can fit in. talk about cottonmouth lol. sorry not enough coffee yet. Man I gotta get you to get this 1/2 10 amp Dewalt corded drill i have, that thing will break wrists man if you dont use the side handle. I wish you lived closer i imagine we could find alot of fun things to try.
  3. it depends if your in the construction trades or something similar yeah go brushless, if you're a DIY guy who doesnt use their stuff as much it wont matter what you get,the batteries are the same regardless.
  4. Yeah i use porter cable out at the shop and at home in the garage. Im a machinist/metal fabricator metal dust/debris can easily kill powertools. I never said anything bad about porter cable,in fact if you ever come across any other posts of mine I suggest them all the time. They make good tools, and they are fairly priced. The porter cable 20v impact and drill and tigersaw I use all the time, nearly daily. Still wanna get the PC nailer at some point since i have plenty of batteries. Like i mentioned i dont get to go to jobsites like you construction guys, wish i could thou just to see whats around. I do know alot of guys here in the Norcal area really like Makita and Dewalt.
  5. Hard to beat Ryobi, ridgid, or even Porter cable for home use and non home use really. when i was looking for cordless to use around the house I knew of all the brands out there. Ryobi, ridgid, and milwaukee share the same parent company. Porter cable is same parent company as dewalt. Honestly its kind of hard to get a bad tool that wont do the job from any maker,so much is made nowadays of course there is gonna be a lemon or two here and there. Thats just how mass manufacturing is. I really like the Porter Cable 20v line, plenty of power to do most any jobs around the house,I also use the Bosch 12v line and gotta say the compactness of them is what drew me to those. I too read about Ryobi battery issues,I also think Ryobi suffers from stigma of past issues. Of course when you come to a site like this and most everyone is a contractor type they are gonna say milwaukee or Dewalt, or makita or whatever their favorite line is You dont really need all that power all the time to get things done, you just need the proper gear in general. in my opinion you should buy into the line that offers the most items that you will use most regularly, and of course you wanna compare the specs. i still use a fair amount of corded tools like drills and such, they never lose power and most of the time with a proper extension cord you are not far from an outlet. Cordless is nice for quick convenience.
  6. If you search over on ToolGuyd there is a post I forget what its titled but he shows exactly what this is and several different brands if I recall correctly.
  7. Thats awesome,as a parent thats what you hope will happen, makes those memories even better.
  8. Thats so cool,I bet its alot of fun.
  9. Thats an awesome idea Comp,It's great that your dad was able to pass on to you so many different things, much like mine has. It's something ive been trying to do with my little ones as much as possible. My kids love building things together and using tools. The Milwaukee wall is awesome!! Well done once again sir.
  10. Comp your tables are always amazing. Who does the printing for you? Id love to get a San Francisco Giants and 49'ers logo done so i can hang them in the man cave.
  11. The all mighty US dollar usually has to do with that, exchange rates and all that jazz. Its another reason why alot of US folks buy stuff from Canada its crazy cheap.
  12. I agree with the above, split the difference. Not only will it be stronger but it will look nicer and if it were me aesthetics are important.
  13. SnapOn boxes are crazy pricey for sure but damn they do sure look good. I saw a really badass Harley Davidson snapon box recently had Pearl paint and everything, was so nice I wouldnt even want to use it for tools. Im more for function than anything else, that being said any decent sized box with nice ball bearing slides is worth the cash. Ill never own another box with friction slides ever again. I like that pic BigMike,I am eagle eyeing that miter and table saw with stands you got there. Nice stuff brother.
  14. Us real Californians would burn that shizzle in our fire pit in backyard.
  15. Pretty sure Dan and Eric both like those. Alot of fellers around here seem to like Husky boxes. You should scope out the new boxes Milwaukee is coming out with too. for $600 that looks like it has a fair amount of storage, the only issue ive ever seen/dislike about Husky boxes is the locking mechanism is garbage but if you dont lock it up no biggie. I wouldnt trade my Kennedy stack for it but hard to beat the price for around the house/garage.
  16. I gotta agree with the above, milwaukee wrote the book. I still want one too. I have a porter cable 20v tigersaw its great for pruning but not a whole lot else.
  17. Programming is the easy part, learning proper setup techniques is where most folks get bit.
  18. Rack a tiers are awesome in industrial applications, around the house I wouldnt waste the dough. I just tie them like everyone else has mentioned. i also use velcro cable ties. http://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-ONE-WRAP-Self-Gripping-Cable-Reusable/dp/B001E1Y5O6 I usually get mine from HD,they have all sorts of sizes of these, useful for alot of things.
  19. WD-40 is ok althou im not a huge fan. Dry lube or Garage door lube works pretty good. Kroil oil is really good and you get what you pay for with it. im lucky here in Cali dont have to worry about the humidity much, but we ship machine parts all over and Kroil is what we use to protect them. Also silica gel packs work great,I use them to help protect my precision tools. PB blaster which is easily obtained at HD works really good too. Just remember the old addage man,the more you have the more you have to maintain. If you gonna keep buying tools take the time to maintain them properly.
  20. Id dig it out with a backhoe and pour concrete and call it done. Asphalt sucks, and it stinks to high heaven. Concrete lasts forever.
  21. Nice bro,Im a big Gearwrench fan myself.
  22. Fuller Tool 301-1950 3-Piece PRO Heavy Duty Wood Chisel Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BDHAC2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_bofcxb9RDREBM Or stanleys or something. If its cold chisels you need, dont cheap out on those.
  23. Living in California we have a huge Hispanic population and i get to enjoy it. Good people, great food, and beer. Oh and hispanic girls are hella hot.
  24. Yeah I followed TIA on there but I just couldnt keep up. And yeah there is a massive amount of garbage out there. People are friggin wierd now.
