  1. Where is mister Conductor when we need him? He is the end all answer to any and every question related to Proto. If I remember correctly Proto is owned by the SBD comglomerate. The Blackhawk stuff isnt supposed to be higher end,but still thats no excuse for lousy tool finishes. Blackhawk wrenches and such are still pretty decent.
  2. The bluetooth on that box Chris is just for that speaker in that kit is all it means. Yeah the ones with the black batteries are the junky ones. Personally i like my PC stuff alot. for my needs they are great. Cant really stand how Ryobi tools feel in the hand. the PC grip is great very similar to the Dewalt counterpart.
  3. Thanks for the heads up man, that just sucks. That is one reason I also get alot of my stuff from Amazon, easy to return. I can tell you one thing ive learned about chinese metals over my machining career, they usually are not made to proper alloy specs. Having worked for shops that tried getting chinese materials to save costs on a big project. It bit them in the end when it had to be sent back causing massive delays. I like getting certified materials.Chinese stuff machines like shit and its gummy, and harder to get fine finishes on.
  4. Safety wire pliers. I used safety wire alot in the military doing aircraft maintenance and such. There's all sorts of rules on having the proper twists if i remember right. Been a while. They are useful for other things wire wise too.
  5. The jaws close and open parallel, they are also faster. I have the smaller one on my wishlist,I havent really been buying too many tools lately other than things I need for around the house maintenance wise and such.
  6. Get the one from HD,cutting discs from HF are about as good as frisbees.
  7. Nice man,yet another thing I could use one day.
  8. Grinder with a diamond wheel should do it. As long as you are using a diamond wheel/blade and some water you should be good to go.
  9. Thats a nice tip right there Kato. Im assuming any decent type of paint with a small applicator brush would work great for this.
  10. I have the Wiha torx set that goes up to T50 if I remember right. they are good torx drivers, torx type of fasteners are used alot in machine tools and my industrial applications.. same great wiha grips and good fastener fit.
  11. Nice choice man,I love my Wiha drivers. if I didnt already have a SnapOn set with bolsters I would own this set for sure.
  12. I used to foam in my hand tools because we had to do that in the military. It wastes so much space i just use wrench racks or rolls nowadays, much easier and saves tons of room.
  13. Thanks for posting bro,as many know I like Porter Cable. When i bought my first porter cable cordless drill around 15 years ago or so itwas a great drill for what i needed it for. It was 12v if I remember right and it came with 2.0 nicad batteries at the time. That thing was a beast for its day,one time it fell off of a 12' ladder bounced a few times on the concrete shop floor. To my surprise it still worked. When it died i had a hard time finding a PC drill that was as good. so it got upgraded to a Dewalt 14v. Its been at least 5 or 6 years since I owned any dewalt cordless. I had one of the first lithium battery Dewalt compact drills for a while but it died. Thats when i started getting the PC 20v line. The line getting brushless im not keeping my hopes up for that, considering how long it took them to get a hammer drill in this line. Its not like they dont have the ability, being part of the B&D family, I think most of their emphasis is focused on improving the Dewalt tech to keep a competitive edge. Judging by the new Dewalt gen 2 stuff it seemslike they are doing nicely. There is still a number of PC stuff im planning to get in time. I really like my PC corded circular saw,its a 15 amp beast.
  14. Baileigh industrial is the go too for these types of machines, they have a very extensive Instagram.they show alot of cool stuff.
  15. I like the bags too, they can be used for so many things, and most are fairly well made and heavy duty.
  16. I usually toss most of mine in the recycle bin but thats because nearly all of my power tools hang on my wall in the garage or in my Ridgid stack. I think my circular saw and SDS+ Rotary are the only 2 I have left in their cases.
  17. Since you dont use a roto hammer often it sounds like Id go with a corded one. Unless you can find a good deal on a Dewalt 20v bare tool since you have batteries already. I have a corded Bosch 1" bulldog extreme sds plus and its really good, they make much larger ones but the price is more substantial too. A hammerdrill can be used for smaller masonry jobs just fine.
  18. Never seen such a thing, and an impact wrench isnt really designed for drilling. closest thing i see is: http://www.handsontools.com/Ajax-1012-12-Impact-Wrench-Chuck_p_3687.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjwrte4BRD-oYi3y5_AhZ4BEiQAzIFxn9V12SqWVYOMpa3-Sjlm3HAWuWms1bQ1qocV8_E2ai4aAp0Q8P8HAQ It looks cheap as hell. i wouldnt waste time with it,just geta hammerdrill or a SDS drill to go with yourDewalt stuff. Hard to beat a real rotary hammer for doing masonry/concrete work.
  19. awesome man, nothing like working on some projects to take a fellers mind off things.
  20. That looks awesome bro. Good choice on the sam adams there,I like their summer selections this year.
  21. Those look nice,im not a fan of front loaders thou. I think we have Whirlpool Gold or something like that.
  22. That looks sweet man, awesome idea.
  23. Roger that, Now that i re read his post on computer instead of phone i think he was commenting on the HF drill? my bad.
  24. If you are going to say HD to scope stuff out make sure you like how the tools feel in your hand. Comfort while using them can go a long way to liking them more. In todays tech there's no room for bad ergonomics imo of course. the PC line has nice grips and balance in my hand.
