Thanks John, the wife and I were kicking that idea around yesterday... Looks like we are going to leave it as is for now, dress up the top with some crown and a nice vase with some flowers ( or something like that) Then down the line if we don't like the look anymore I will frame it up to the ceiling and box it in with maybe an access door to access a storage area on the top
Ripped out the rest of the old header/closet framing. Decided to recess the new 2X6 foyer header for a neater Sheetrock job, and framed out the new closet. Will start the electrical rough in tomorrow.
Thats a great deal, I was crushing my paslode framer today and still love that Gun (never lets me down) even after close to 15 years of use.. I am hard pressed to give it up to a new cordless framer...... But that Dewalt looks sweet......
Mine was a Dewalt cordless drill ( can't remember the model number) got it as a gift from a buddy for helping him with his bathroom back in 1994. And my brother in law still has it now......
Removed the old 2X6 header and increased the opening to 12 ' with 2-2X12"X12' Doug fir headers with 1/2" plywood in the middle.. This is a non load bearing wall..tomorrow will rip out the existing 2x6 headers for the closet doorway and foyer and rework new headers to work within our plan.. My pics are a little blurry, I apologize for that guys, my I-pad screen is cracked.. I'll try to get some better pics tomorrow
Took a week off from work to start a project of opening up a wall to the foyer and living room and making our closet a little bigger.... Hopefully the pics come out. The electric is a mess, gotta spend a lot of time on the new rough in and got some hardwood flooring to repair as well
