  1. I don't think I've ever seen a mag drill this cheap before. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-450-RPM-Compact-Electromagnetic-Drill-Press-Kit-4270-21/100019972
  2. I think it belongs here http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/index.php?/topic/10166-let-the-fathers-day-novelty-tools-begin/
  3. Hasn't seemed any different from other grinding methods. It's just a matter of grit large enough to reduce loading.
  4. Typically you don't use diamonds on ferrous metals because the diamonds, particularly the cutting edge, slowly dissolve into the metal. So did they just stick more diamonds on and deal with the decreased cutting performance since it's still better than aluminum oxide, or is this actually CBN sold as diamond for marketing purposes. I'm really hoping it's CBN cause more people need to use that.
  5. Usually it's a good sign when a manufacturer actually issues recalls...unless you hear in the news about courts forcing them to do a recall.
  6. Dewalt because it's dual speed
  7. The drills are single speed so the torque and speed are mediocre for every application, and the impact drivers don't have space for a good impact mechanism in the head so they hardly have more torque or speed than the drills. Plus not a single brushless one. Some manufacturer is going to make a killing when they realize how easy it would be to make an awesome angle drill or impact.
  8. I know they're claiming the 40V line will see continued development, but they did the same for their 12V line. The fact that they put a chainsaw and string trimmer on the 60V line already is proof enough of that. Don't get me wrong the 40V line would have a place but they won't see it as worth developing alongside a 60V line. As far as those 60V tools you want As far as those 60V tools, they already showed the string trimmer, chainsaw, sds drill, and track saw at some events, and I believe some are available internationally. I can't imagine anyone making a cordless compressor because almost all individual tools have a cordless variant and pneumatics are incredibly inefficient.
  9. Get brad point bits for smaller sizes and forstner bits for larger sizes, these should never be used in metal though so keep your ryobi twist bits for that.
  10. Definitely post it. A new thread would be good for comparison of the blowers.
  11. Current M18 nailers have an actuator that builds up heat and cause them to go into thermal overload under moderate-heavy use. I framing nailer will need a larger actuator which will build up more heat, and heavy use of a finish nailer would be extremely light use for a framing nailer, and don't even get started on roofing nailers. This means a framing nailer will either require massive improvements on the current mechanism or a completely new firing mechanism, so it's unlikely a framing nailer is imminent.
  12. I don't think I've ever seen a store that doesn't have some Makita bits marked down.

  14. Some of those are great deals, but I'm pretty sure they raised the price of that Dremel to get $99. The Dremel 4000-4/34 kit is $82 at both Home Depot and Amazon
  15. Doing demo I usually use the battery of the sawzall as a hammer to beat out stubborn pieces. Milwaukee and Makita both hold up great as did Dewalt XRP but I'd worry about Dewalt slides since the batteries are already loose. I do miss the weight of the XRP packs when somethings really stuck. Since the Makita batteries seem to be indestructible when connected to a tool I prefer the smaller form factor over rubber overmold.
  16. Electrical burns almost certainly mean a knockoff battery blew and they might not warranty it. Newer batteries and tools track everything that's connected so they can do failure analysis and that can include denying warranty if the failure was caused by a knockoff battery.
  17. I'm inclined to agree. Using a reversible motor, cutting guard, and dust extraction with dual markings on the shoe and a symmetric depth adjustment all seem doable, but everything down to the thread lay on the arbor bolt is engineered with directionality and I can't see them making that viable. More likely this is poor wording for "look guys we made a cordless blade right saw too"

  19. Not sure if there was a better deal during prime day, but that set and the inch equivalent go down to $30 for a few weeks sometimes.
  20. Looks like amazon matched that price.
  21. Are you running the drill at low or high speed? Running in low speed (high torque) might solve the problem The bit should also be sharpened ever couple inches drilling into end grain.
  22. And it'll probably be on sale a couple weeks after that.
  23. The updated compact miter saw probably uses the same motor as their new circular saw to get more power in which case it is a 54V tool.
