  1. I'll try the Goo Gone. The problem is that the tape is probably about 20 years old at least and has fused itself with the lacquer finish of the woodwork. You would think you could just peel it off but that's not happening.
  2. Also on a side note. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do to remove masking tape from finished trim? The previous owner of the house for what ever reason went crazy with the stuff and it's all over the trim in the room. This is the white stuff you see under the windows..
  3. Today I continued on with the window replacement project. Installed 2 windows in my laundry room, Had to take extra care in removing of the existing trim and foam the windows since none of the trim is painted and I didn't want to have to worry about repairing the finish. Used my Porter Cable 20V Lithium Oscillating Tool quite a bit on this one. This is the go to tool for cleaning up the window opening and prepping the surface for the new window. Also it is the best thing to use to trim the foam. It's like cutting bread! Just need to cap off the exterior and do a little of exterior painting and these will be done.
  4. For whatever reason, Periscope will stop following TIA on my phone. I'm constantly adding it back in.
  5. 56 VW Beetle Oval Window Black with the rag top.
  6. I picked this one up in the spring after dealing with broken trigger styles of plastic and metal designs. So far it works great with no worries about dropping it in the driveway and having the handle lock down and shooting you in the back with water. http://www.harborfreight.com/super-deluxe-hose-nozzle-62470.html
  7. If the fire bowl and burner supports are made of sheet metal,. Walk away. You want cast aluminum for everything.
  8. I had one on my thigh about 2 months ago. My doctor lanced it with a scalpel, just poked it and it was over. Didn't even numb me up.
  9. If it's built right, he should be able to take it apart in a couple of sections and load it up and take it with him.
  10. I completely agree that you need to set your expectations accordingly whenever you buy anything with an electrical motor from HF. With that being said, I have to give a huge thumbs up to this particular drill. I bought it about 3-4 years ago for the sole purpose of doing rust removal and metal prep utilizing wire wheels. With all of the dust and debris this thing has ingested I'm completely amazed that it's still running strong. http://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-duty-professional-3-8-eighth-inch-magnesium-drill-98179.html
  11. You're 100% correct on the gear oil, it makes the garage stink I spent a couple hours today in the garage today cleaning up and putting everything away and I could still smell it. The craftsman jack stands are holding up pretty well, no issues so far. I have a set of HF stands as well. I actually used both sets to change the bearings. I used the HF set to lift the Jeep off the ground and then used the Craftsman's to support the axle. I needed the axle to hang down as low as possible since the fuel tank for the Jeep sits right up against the differential and getting the top bolts off would have been tight.
  12. I think the design need to incorporate the fact that even though it's a garage, it also needs to serve it's purpose as a studio. I think everyone would agree that Dan has given up on the possibility of parking any vehicles in there, so with that being said, I would take advantage of the floor space and build a large island/bench/display area right in the center.of the garage. Fill it with shelves and it could then be used to hold all of the blow mold cases and other items. New product could be held and staged as there as well. You could then mount some holding devices or vises to the bench which would aid in holding material for demonstration and the long waited return of tool fights.
  13. Yes, I need to pick up some 1/2 drive short impact sockets. It's the next thing on the list
  14. Happy Birthday and Congrats!
  15. Looks good,. Nice heavy bag you have hanging there!
  16. This maybe taboo posting on this site. But check out this review of the Cobra's. It pretty much tells you everything that you need to know.
  17. Figure I would kick this off as a general discussion of what you did today.whether it be in the Garage, House, Job, Yard and the tools that you used to accomplish the task. Today, I replaced the rear axle bearings in my wife's 2005 Jeep Liberty. With 150k on it, I was beginning to hear some howling from the rear end. I had to remove the diff cover, brakes, pull the c-clips and then finally pull the axles. I had to use a slide hammer and a rear bearing puller to get them out. Overall the project went pretty well. Only one issue is when the pin fell out of the spider gears while I was doing the passenger side and they fell out. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how they went back in.. Ended up using a lot of the Porter Cable stuff today.
  18. Yes they are the same. Only real difference is the grip is a red and black deal and it says Craftsman on the head. As far as 1st impressions I do like them. One minor gripe is with how it's marketed as having an auto lock/memory once you grab a fastener. This is not completely accurate since this feature will only work if they are in a perfect horizontal position where the top handle (bottom jaw) is using the force of gravity to pull down on the handle and allow the bottom jaw to grab the object.
  19. For $49. You can't beat it, since it's comes with the accessory kit as well.
  20. Thanks - I didn't realize they sold these. I use them all of the time when I'm cleaning up aluminum or stainless steel parts.
  21. No Menards out in the Northeast. I ended picking up the clones from Sears on Wednesday.
  22. No worries, we were all there at one point or another. It takes time. Before you know it, you'll wonder how you managed to accumulate so much stuff!
  23. Figure I would kick this off. What's everyone's tool of choice for grilling? I'm using a Weber Spirit E-310 and I love it. Great construction and awesome results. After about 10 years of dealing with inferior grills, I finally made the decision to buy a Weber and couldn't be happier.
