When I built my work bench I mounted it to the wall I think it makes it a little more stable but I also dislike how if I want to move the bench around or out of the way it is a lot harder to then if I didn't mount it to the wall if you plane on never moving it I would definitely mount it to the wall

If it was me I would try to return it because it might of just been a defected unit but if it happens again I would try and to make or replace the lock

Nice metabo makes great stuff

Festool is great with woodworking and the intricate work and is probably better then the makita in that area but festool probably won't expanded their line at least not as fast and as many tools as Mikita would

A makita should be able to do that just fine if you want a top of the line grinder I would look at metabo

For furniture i would go with brad nailer between the nail and glue it will give you a strong joint and a small hole

I have dewalt bits and they work great and the price isn't that bad

Those are really nice but if you are willing to spend a little more the porter cable pocket hole jig I think is a lot nicer

I've never bought anything on eBay but I know eBay is pretty good about taking care of any problems
