I have compared both online, the 170 is slightly lighter and louder. Same length.

Wondering if anyone has played with either the DTD154 or 170. they are identical in dimensions, the only real difference seems to be the drive modes. The 170 has 6 and is a little louder. I am seriously looking at this impact, 3800 rpm is no joke!

They are two different things. One is a measure of current draw, the other is a measure of capacity. I personally think amp hour needs to disappear on tools all together, it is highly misleading to uneducated consumers. Some people believe that the tool is actually drawing a continuous 9a... My Brushless Milwaukee stuff grinds, squeals and clacks. They are very loud. Seems to be a side effect of the way they are designed and built. My brushless Hilti stuff makes none of those sounds and is whisper quiet compared to Milwaukee. Given that Milwaukee has been ramping up the pricing for the last two years, I hope the quality ramps up too. They are as expensive, if not more so than my Hilti stuff now. Exactly. Easy on the wallet, great steel, nice build quality. I keep a Lansky blade medic in my tool bag, I sharpened my old SOG several times a week. The Kershaw gets a tune up every week or two. For $35, you won't find a better option. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The fact that you can buy 1.5 and 2.0 at HD is very odd. Why not just discontinue the old models when a new one comes out? There are way too many battery options for Milwaukee. Nothing worse than opening my drawer and seeing 1.5's that will never see the light of day, because they still put em in kits for some odd reason. 6 sku's for 12v and 7 sku's for 18v. I love my Hilti 12V tools but the bottom line is there's not enough selection to completely change over. I have a full set of M12 fuel tools and I love the selection and availability.
