  1. I found this pretty interesting, keep in mind that the Hilti is NOT a brushless model. I assumed that Milwaukee would have been number #2, go go Makita! Pound for pound, the Ridgid seems the hands down value leader. http://www.protoolreviews.com/buying-guides/heavy-duty-18v-cordless-drill-shootout/20382/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I am kind of wrong, it seems TTi bought the names, patents etc and moved it to China. AEG and Milwaukee share quite a bit more. They were both owned by Atlas and TTi bought them for $626 million. I thought TTi bought Milwaukee from Milwaukee. I learned something new today! I thought Milwaukee was US until TTi bought them. "Atlas Copco Electric Tools GmbH is located in Winnenden near Stuttgart/Germany and is responsible for developing, manufacturing and distribution of high-quality portable power tools under the AEG[emoji768] and Milwaukee[emoji768] brands and accessories. The products are marketed through a number of sales companies worldwide, with a main business focus on Europe, Asia, Australia, and South Africa and target mainly the professional market such as the construction industry and high-end user." http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20040830005441/en/TTI-Signs-Agreement-Acquire-Milwaukee-AEG-DreBo Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Considering that the AEG tools come out before the Milwaukee's, I would doubt it. The m18 fuel SDS hammer drill came out a year after the AEG version and it's identical. If you look at the link I posted earlier, you can see the full line of AEG tools, Home Depot doesn't bring in the full line as Ridgid. Also, Milwaukee seems to only have a portion of the 12v , mostly fuel, same with 18v. The Milwaukee stuff goes way beyond, they probably share a lot between them, save cost etc. TTi bought the Milwaukee name some time ago, but AEG has been around for a long time. Imagine if Ridgid (Home Depot)carried the full line of AEG! http://uk.aeg-powertools.eu/AEG/media/Media/Catalogues/AEG-Catalogue-2015.pdf
  4. The Mileaukee version is just a rebranded Ridgid(AEG).
  5. It wouldn't be a fair comparison. The 1062 in-lb (84 Nm) Hilti Drill of awesomeness isn't even brushless, nor does it have a hammer mode. But it has 4 speeds and a self tightening chuck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Why is the blade on the wrong side on the 7 1/4"? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Just wait until the 12.0ah batteries come out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Oh for sure. Torque in any motor is important. For circular saws, you aren't running them under constant and varying loads like an impact or drill. They spin. Sometimes they bog a little and a beefier motor is great to have. With a good blade and proper use of the tool, the torque requirements aren't that crazy. As for the worm drive, they don't bind up like a direct drive because they are geared. Direct drive can stop the blade much easier when it binds. Worm drives by design, are very hard to stop. Not because of brushless or brushed motors, but the gearing. The are beasts! Just wait for an M18 Fuel Wormdrive! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I used to loved my M18 Fuel grinder, great tool. The only thing it needed was a brake! Awesome. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. M18 3500 rpm, M18 Fuel 5000 rpm. No torque ratings, which makes sense. There ya go, thanks google! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. The brushless motor delivers higher rpms, that's one of the disadvantages of a brushed motor, high friction means lower rpm. I am not sure that torque really applies to a circular saw. If you are pushing the tool into the wood that hard, you are doing it wrong! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Higher rpm or do you mean it has more torque? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Brushless is great, but the benefits of a brushless motor don't apply to all tools equally. A saw needs a good blade more than a brushless motor. The battery life will be better, but only marginally. Heavy load tools will see much more of a benefit from a brushless motor. A circular saw will be great with or without a brushless motor. Brushed motors are less susceptible to dirt and debris as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The Fatmax is identical and cheaper. This is Cnd funds too! http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/stanley-fatmax-4-in-1-rolling-workshop-020800r/6000189223594 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I paid $22, do it. It's pretty much disposable. The container is a parts collector. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I still have the M12 Fuel Hackzall, love that thing. That tool has come in handy many times! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  17. Use it, you'll understand the ergonomics. The standard long format makes it easy to get fatigued and promotes an awkward stance. Having the blade much closer to your support hand makes it easier to control and maneuver. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  18. I had the Milwaukee stripper, that is a great tool. Well thought out. The only issue I had with it was the weight, it is a heavy tool. Way too heavy for its size. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  19. I picked up the 101 pc set in the systainer for $21. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. Very cool design, impressed! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  21. I use Wera. I have a full set of insulated screw drivers and a few non insulted. The grip is by far the most comfortable and allows for insane grip and torque compared to Milwaukee and Klein. I own Milwaukee's too, they sit in my tool bad for when I need a beater. The best part about Wera is that they grip the screws and don't cam out easily. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. They should be. Good idea! I am sure you can get AEG cheap on eBay! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Damn, TTi had a good year... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Odd, I never noticed that AEG is available in way more countries than Milwaukee. Makes sense that Milwaukee is the marketing side of TTI. http://www.ttigroup.com/en/our_brands/by_brand/milwaukee http://www.aeg-powertools.com/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Looking at AEG tools (Ridgid) and I can see several of my old Milwaukee M18 and M12 stuff. The 18v SDS and 12v SDS for sure, recip, some drills look suspect as well. Big fore sure on the angle grinder too. http://uk.aeg-powertools.eu/AEG/media/Media/Catalogues/AEG-Catalogue-2015.pdf Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
