  1. Dammit, I missed this Black Friday deal. [emoji26] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I have been 100% satisfied with every Hilti tool I have purchased, including my new service set, the 12v series. The customer service is unreal. They throw in bits, they give me great deals too. I am always amazed at the tools they take back for warranty. Beat up, broken and barely recognizable, they still fix or replace them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  4. Good day! This isn't a full tool review, just an initial observation of the new Hilti 12v Drill and a comparison to a Milwaukee 12v Drill that I have had for awhile. Right out of the box you can see that Hilti spent time on the design. There are no extra ridges or Space Lego molding. It is clean and purposefully built. The over molded grip is great in the hand. One thing I have always disliked about the M12 Fuel Drill is how it fits in my hand. The back of the grip sits a little low and makes the drill awkward to grip tightly. The Hitli grip is more centered and didn't feel awkward with a tight grip. The overall balance of the Hilti is simply awesome. The Fuel is very top/side heavy. You immediately notice the balance differences when holding them side by side. You also notice the heaviness of the Fuel. The drill is relatively quiet. No harsh clacking or squelching like the M12. Size is what you would expect. The dual LED lights are placed at the bottom near the battery. They work so much better than the M12. The M12 casts a shadow over the drilling area at closer range, the Hilti does not. The batteries are very compact and the indicator is very easy to see. Charge time is 34 minutes. Again, this isn't a tool fight! Hilti has found a perfect spot between the basic Makita/Milwaukee 12v lineups and the M12 Fuel / Entry level 18v lineups. They are not as torquey as the Fuel series, but for its price, you won't mind! The Hilti kit retails for $239 USD for 3 tools, 2 batteries, charger, bag and belt clips. It is exceptional value for anyone looking for light duty/service friendly tools. Here are a few more pics of the kit: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It's hard not to drink the marketing KoolAid. Every month there are new features and models, it's overwhelming. I switched everything from Makita to Milwaukee. Milwaukee had so many more tools than Makita and I assumed Fuel would be life changing. Sure there were some cool features, but I actually missed the Makita stuff. At the end of the day, they all get the job done. I currently use Hilti, which probably has the least amount of tools in their lineup. I have never been happier. I don't obsess about what everyone else is doing anymore! If you keep looking over the fence you will never appreciate what's in your own yard. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I need to by 3 more angle grinders ASAP! http://youtu.be/j3p9Fd0QSEs Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. The interchangeable chuck isn't something we see here in North America. I watched a few videos featuring the swappable chucks and thought that would be a great idea! I think you are 100% correct about a multi tool! That is something I would buy in an instant. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. It seems so, I doubt they will flood the market. Hilti has always been about quality over quantity. I would love to see a small recip saw and a small led light. Sent from my ASUS_Z00TD using Tapatalk

  11. I just paid $299 CND for my kit.https://www.hilti.ca/m_12_v_sub_compact Sent from my ASUS_Z00TD using Tapatalk
  12. Try that. I was in my local Hilti store, after 5 minutes, I was hooked! I will try post a comparison to the M12 Fuel stuff later this week. Sent from my ASUS_Z00TD using Tapatalk
  13. Just checked out the new Sub-Compact tool set. Very impressed. So much so, I ordered a set! The size, weight and balance are ridiculous. They are not going to win any torque competitions but they are insane for the size and price. Full Hilti lifetime warranty applies. $239 USD for the 3 tool kit, 2 batteries, charger, bag and belt hooks. The set comes with a 3/8 hammer drill/driver, 1/4 impact and 1/4 drill driver. https://www.us.hilti.com/m_12_v_sub_compact If you are after a great gift or in my case, an ultra compact and ultra light service set, jump on it! Not sure how long it is on sale for. On a side note, I own the M12 Fuel stuff. The Hilti ergonomics are much better. The balance is significantly better and lighter too. Kijiji will be seeing some M12 stuff! Sent from my ASUS_Z00TD using Tapatalk

  15. Early 90's. My father used to be on the Souix pool. He knew the guys in the accident. Found this as well. http://canadianrailwayobservations.com/RESTRICTED/2013/December/cn.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Dewalt kits at CT are the same, they may be older models, discontinued or a special buy. Sent from my ASUS_Z00TD using Tapatalk
  18. Even the charger and batteries looked like makita, too funny. The Japanese Ryobi is totally different than the North American. http://www.ryobi-group.co.jp/en/projects/powertools/products/index.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Drill only mode is very handy when doing anchors like Tapcon, especially with the Tapcon Drill/Screw set. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Ouch. That's not good. I respect the hell out companies that handle recalls promptly and clearly. There is a certain level of trust and loyalty that needs to be maintained. Dremel has always been a trusted brand for me. Just ask GM what bad Recall PR can do to a reputation! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Firstly, I said that the emt clips looked like crap (they were clearly deformed), which I stand by. I didn't say one word about your installation or imply anything about you personally. I am an electrician, I care very much about workmanship and safety. I get annoyed when I see poor workmanship or incorrect use of product etc. I get that you may have been taught that, but it is incorrect. Secondly, no one claimed you cannot use metal clips. No one. It was stated that EMT clips were not listed for use with pvc. There are proper metal pvc clips/straps available. While they may seem similar to you, they are quite different. They won't damage the pipe, they provide proper support and allow for linear expansion. You wouldn't use copper pipe as a raceway even though it is similar to emt. I am sorry that you are offended by my comment and I assure you my intention was only to point out the violation. Tact isn't my strongest trait. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. It isn't branding, it's indicating where to push it when it breaks down! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yes, it is hack. You have to deform the clip to make it fit. Doesn't that make you raise an eyebrow? EMT clips are not rated for PVC, that's using product incorrectly, which is a violation. How heavy is your pvc that 2 hole clips are just breaking off? If you are concerned about weight, the pipe should rest on the screw, harder to pull out or off. The deformed clip actually holds less weight and covers less of the pipe which is contradictory to your defense. How secure do you think this is? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Hilti is 21.6 (6x 3.6v cells in series) vs Dewalt 20v max 18v (5x 3.6v cells in series). Ya ya, add parallel for capacity, not the point. Not sure how they can legally market that. I get that the standing voltage may be 20v, but come on! Lol I have no idea why Hilti wouldn't have taken advantage of their higher voltage tools for marketing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. No Wera love? The Impaktor bits are quite good. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
