  1. I really don’t know about the Milwaukee nailers. I’ve spent/wasted enough money on Milwaukee. I’ll check on it though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. We have some Bosch and some DeWalt. All work great. Bosch come in 5 packs, for the smaller bits. Since those are the ones that break most, I buy the 5 packs. They last pretty good, depending on who is drilling the hole. Are you using 3/16" tapcons? Or drilling a 3/16" hole for 1/4" tapcons. Either way, it makes a difference on what hole you drill. We use 1/4" tapcons, but we drill a 3/16" hole. Tapcon wants you to drill a 5/32" hole. That may be technically the right thing to do, but it doesn't work out for us. The hole is just a little small. We use the 3/16" hole and then use an impact driver to run the tapcons in. Works great. Get yourself a chisel bit. We usually just need the 1 1/2" ones. We have a smaller one, but rarely use it. You will find so many things to use it for. 2 days ago, we removed a huge chunk of brick wall. All we needed was the DeWalt sds and a chisel bit. And one extra battery. One battery that didn't have a full charge and then a new one finished it off.
  3. I hesitated on the Hitachi. I think it is better technology, as far as how it works. I am a little concerned because it is new. Usually, the first ones out, have some issues. Right now, I think I will just stick with the DeWalt. Been good to us so far and we have plenty of batteries. I just don't think it's worth jumping ship, at this point. I might change my mind, tomorrow. Something will happen soon. We need another cordless nailer.
  4. What would you consider a long term perspective. We've had one for about 1 1/2 years. My review would be positive. Having said that, I am considering ordering a Hitachi. Just having a hard time pulling the trigger. I actually have one in the cart, right now. For myself, we have plenty of DeWalt batteries. Is it worth it to start another line of batteries? Since these are the first ones, is it better to wait a while and let them work out the bugs? With DeWalt, they are on their second version, as far as I know.
  5. Our DeWalt has problems with the Paslode nails. Will jamb at least a few times a day. Have never had a jamb with Griprite nails.
  6. Should be enough? No. Will be enough. For what you are doing, you will kick yourself for not buying it sooner. I've been told, multiple times, "This is the best tool you've bought." This is coming from the crew. Once you have it, you will love it.
  7. We have the 273. Works great. I can’t say enough, good, about it. I carry a big corded Bosch in my truck. Just because I haven’t bought one for myself, yet. It does everything he Bosch does. Period. The other day we drilled about 30 -3/4” holes in 4“ concrete. Had to switch batteries once. You won’t regret it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Is there a PSI adjustment on the cordless nailer? Depth adjustment was set at full depth.
  9. I have been so happy with the DeWalt framer. Then, yesterday, it started annoying me. I would say, half the nails I shot, were left proud by a little less than 1/8". Not the end of the world, but I had to go back and hit them with a hammer. Not sure what that means, but I'll keep an eye on it.
  10. Something I noticed about the compact, yesterday. When you hold the tool level, the blade has a downward angle. The old one didn't. When you are cutting corners on plaster or drywall, it makes a difference. The saw wants to constantly push and jump out of the cut. The old ones don't do that. Even with that downfall, I'm happy with the compact. Mostly because it runs better.
  11. Yes. My regular was losing power. That’s when I bought a compact. It was worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Question wasn't for me, but I'll throw in my 2 cents. We switched to Bostitch. For framers, I like the ability to adjust the depth easily. Push a button, move it in and out, and release the button. Huge improvement. We had Paslode. They were great, but had to use an allen wrench to adjust depth. As a side note, I will admit, we haven't gotten the Bostitch out, since we got the DeWalt framer. We are going to start a house soon and I plan on trying it with all cordless.
  13. That's what I thought. When I read that, I thought it would actually ad credence to the Hitachi name.
  14. Taking on another battery platform is the biggest drawback. Probably the only thing holding me back. Not that multiple platforms aren't aren't a possibility, but not something I want to deal with. I'll leave it at that. I don't want to hijack a thread. I'll leave it for another thread. Not sure about your experiences with a service center. It's been years since I've dealt with one. At that time, I had no issues. It really has no bearing on what your experience will be. Hopefully someone will chime in and say, "Take it here XXXXXX, they will do a great job."
  15. I think the mower is on acme also Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I can’t help you. As a side note, I’m considering getting the Hitachi cordless framer. Trying to get away from pneumatic. Really like the DeWalt framer. Just thinking the Hitachi might be better. Won’t fit my batteries though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. That's a good point. I never really thought about that. Our Milwaukee corded has it, and I always thought it would be nice. I think a good place for it, might be on the Flexvolt.
  18. You might have a point about the Flexvolt. I haven't tried it. We just don't have the Flexvolt tools, yet. I did pick it up in the store. It's heavy. Very heavy compared to the 20v. The reason I didn't consider it, is because it didn't have the 4 position blade. Since DeWalt obviously has the patent on it, for now, why not put it on there. It's the only thing that sets DeWalt apart from the competition. What I would like to see is a variable cut option. I don't know about the Milwaukee cordless, but the corded model can switch between straight cutting action to an orbital action.
  19. We've had multiple Sawzall's over the years. Yup, I called them Sawzalls. That's what I always call them. Milwaukee makes the best sawzall, ever. My opinion. Since we have the DeWalt platform (because DeWalt beats Milwaukee in almost everything else) we have DeWalt sawzalls. Now, I'm not going to rattle off multiple model numbers. I don't like that. When someone posts that, then I have to look up the model number, to see what they are talking about. What I am going to do, is list the type of sawzall. We have been using the DeWalt 20v sawzalls since they came out. I never have liked them and nobody on the crew liked them, but they fit our battery platform. So we used them. Even bought extras. The reason? The sawzalls slow down when you use them, run out of power, and overall suck. Yep, I said it. Everyone knows it, so why not. I was working with a guy that had a 18v Makita and it blew us away. He could do so much work than us, it was embarrassing. Having said that, I want to endorse a newer sawzall from DeWalt. The brushless compact sawzall. Now, I will never admit that it measures up to Milwaukee, but it does so much better than it's DeWalt competition, I thought it was worth making a post. We have already determined the 20v and 18v DeWalt reciprocating saw is worthless. No one can argue that. If you try, just delete that post. A while back, we bought the 20v compact brushless reciprocating sawzall. While I won't say it is as good as a Milwaukee, I will say it is better than any sawzall from DeWalt, ever. The handle takes a little getting used to. Something not quite right. Maybe 30 years of holding a traditional sawzall, but something is different. What it has that the other DeWalts don't have. Power. Sure it is rated at 2900 and the old ones say 3000. I don't care. It is faster. A light. Yep, a LED light. That comes in handy. Power. It runs and runs, without overheating. We actually have extra sawzalls, because they get to hot to hold and then they shut down. So for, not this one. As with all DeWalt reciprocating saws, it has the 4 way chuck. This is the best thing about any of the reciprocating saws. Other brands don't have it. Once you have it, it is worth it. It is worth it. We use that so much. That's it for me. If you are buying a new reciprocating saw (Sawzall). Get this one. It won't be quite as good as a Milwaukee, but it will have a 4 way chuck, it will work with your DeWalt batteries, and it is so much better than the other DeWalts.
  20. Disclaimer. I didn’t read the above posts. Get the SDS. You won’t regret it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’ve. Ought a lot of reconditioned tools, from cpo. 1 time a nailer failed after 6 months. 1 time there were some scuffs on a piece. Not bad though. Overall 99% looked brand new and worked like new. Check the site often. As said before, prices are all over. I bought the DeWalt weed eater for $109. Next day it was $150. That’s just an example. I see it in a lot of tools. Not uncommon for me to type DeWalt 20v reconditioned in the search, just to see what they have Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. That's pretty much what we have been doing. I like a clean work area.
  23. As a right handed person, and having used a right hand blade for a little over 20 years, I have no problem using the right blade. I actually prefer it. Not for the reasons Framer joe mentioned. When I look down at the blade, saws have a "cut out" so you can see the front of the blade. I can see my line and I can see the front of the blade. Works out just fine. Also, with the blade on the right, it throws the saw dust toward the right. With the left blade, I can easily see the blade and my line, but the sawdust gets directed toward me.
  24. I used the big one to clean up, yesterday. I will say, it blows sawdust alot better and faster than the small one. If they were both sitting there, I would pick up the big one. If I had to carry one in the truck, it would be the small one. My big one, is sitting in my garage, right now. I am more impressed each day.
