  1. I haven't really been posting much. Still get on here and check it out, a few times a week. This isn't a question or problem topic. More like, "Hey, I like this" topic. The DeWalt 20v jigsaw. I've had it about a year and I'm really happy with it. I don't use it often, but everytime I do, I like it. Just used it yesterday and I was so happy with the quality of cut. Everything seems to work so good. I wish it had an LED on it, but other than that, I have no complaints. That's all I've got. A good tool and I thought it deserved an honorable mention. http://www.dewalt.com/products/power-tools/saws/jig-saws/20v-max-jig-saw-tool-only/dcs331b
  2. You mean something like this guy did.
  3. Interstate batteries usually re-builds batteries. They do almost all brands and voltages. I would think the 36v is no different, once you break it open. I had a few re-built years ago. I wasn't impressed with the run time afterward. Of course it would be better than they are now. And cheaper than ordering some. It's been so long since I've seen a 36v, I can't even picture what the performance would be, compared to a new 20v. Ok. Did a quick search. The still sell them. I had no idea. The batteries: https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCB361-36V-Lithium-Battery/dp/B00LIWHP3E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482235165&sr=8-1&keywords=dewalt+36v+battery I even found the saw kit. http://www.rockler.com/dewalt-dc300k-heavy-duty-36v-cordless-7-1-4-circular-saw-kit-with-nano-technology?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=(ROI) Shopping - Power Tools&utm_term=1100005069599&utm_content=Everything Else in 'Power Tools' Learn something new everyday.
  4. I don't have the cordless miter saw, yet. He has some skills. As far as dust collection, I've never had much luck with dust collection on a sliding miter saw.
  5. I'll bet they can get a replacement pretty easy.
  6. We had a 20v recip saw go bad. One year old. Took it in and had a new one in a week. $0 out of pocket. Currently we have a 20v impact that went bad. Took it in. Its been over 3 weeks. Must be in short supply. The sales rep for the area offered to let us use their personal 20v impact until the new one came in. We didn't accept the offer, but you have to appreciate that.
  7. I would agree with you. An impact is nothing close to a spinning blade. And you are right about the guys in the video. I also agree that a table saw is dangerous if you are sober. The guy that lost a finger wasn't really qualified to run a table saw, in my opinion. Sober that is. In that case, he was cutting a board the wrong way. If he had been sober, maybe he wouldn't have done it. Impaired, he might have thought it was a good idea. Either way, he was impaired and now he can only count to 9. Just my opinion. Other people can do what they want. If you're working for me, no alcohol. Or any other drug for that matter. Now that I've said that, it brings up another issue. Prescription drugs. I've know alot of guys that require pain killers daily. Are they impaired? I think so. What about marijuana? Obvious impairment, but if they have a prescription? I think this will continue to be a bigger problem. Alcohol is an easy one because you can smell it. The guy that takes 4 Vicodin a day and gets to the point he lives his life on them, it tougher to spot. Not to hijack a thread. I'm going to move on from this one.
  8. For me personally, drinking and power tools don't mix. I know one guy that knew his limits, he was transported to the ER and the took off what was left of his right index finger. He probably knew his limits, then after a while he granted an extension to those limits. Table saw threw a piece of wood back at him. Hit his knuckle so hard that the joint disappeared. Never touched the blade.
  9. So does anyone know when the 18ga brad nailer will be out? Or any of the tools mentioned. I'm selling off all of my air nailers (except a few) and going to cordless for interior trim work. Also going to get a 20v framer. I think it will handle most of my framing. Not doing houses anymore. 18ga brad nailer is our most used nailer. Thanks
  10. I can't recommend a saw for you, because I don't know how you use one. I can give you my input, regarding how I use a saw. I love the DeWalt fence. Best there is. For me anyway. I don't know the model, but I've had a DeWalt portable table saw for probably 20 years. Couldn't be happier with the performance. If I were buying one today, my first choice would be the flexvolt. Second would be the newer smaller job site table saw. This is based on how I use a table saw. Mine stays in the trailer, until I need it. I'm getting older and it is harder to carry around. When I was younger and stronger, I thought it was really light. I would also get a stand with wheels. This goes back to my personal preference. Also, I don't use the table saw everyday. Probably average once a month. I just need a few small rips here and there. I would probably use it more if it were lighter.
  11. In my opinion, the DeWalt reciprocating saw is one of their weakest tools. The Milwaukee sawzall is one of their best and one of the best. I've gone through several DeWalt reciprocating saws. Just killed another a couple days ago. I bought a replacement. Stood there looking at the flexvolt. Then I picked it up. It is heavy. I didn't even notice the 4 way blade holder wasn't there. I can't believe they left it off. That is the only leg up, DeWalt has with reciprocating saws. I'll stick with the 20v. As for the video. That's all it is - an internet video. Next week someone will have a video of the exact opposite.
  12. Mine has a crack that runs from the back hinge, down to the bottom of the box. I didn't even think about replacing it. Just keep using it. I'll have to think about that. Course, it's been broken for a couple years. Maybe longer, I just noticed it one day.
  13. I don't when I got this email. Looks like there are a few flexvolt tools and prices on here. http://www.cpopowertools.com/dewalt-flexvolt/dewalt-flexvolt%2Cdefault%2Csc.html?ref=em20160622&utm_medium=email&utm_source=em20160622&utm_campaign=dewflexvolt&email=millsbuild@gmail.com&modalsignup=hide&spMailingID=25799488&spUserID=MTAyMzM1MTU4NDk3S0&spJobID=823290277&spReportId=ODIzMjkwMjc3S0 Amazon also: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dewalt+flexvolt
  14. Now I realize Amazon has the same thing, except with free shipping. Maybe free, you have to click the details.
  15. I just noticed CPO has brand new string trimmer, bare tool, for $100.00. http://www.cpooutlets.com/dewalt-dcst920b-20v-max-lithium-ion-xr-brushless-13-in--string-trimmer--bare-tool-/dewndcst920b,default,pd.html?start=1&q=dewalt 20v bare tool I've used mine ever since this thread started. While I don't recommend it for any heavy trimming, it works just fine for my yard. In fact, it's the only trimmer I've used this year. Haven't needed to start the gas one. The battery lasts a long time. The only downside is that it doesn't seem to have much torque. It will bog down fairly easy. Even though it bogs down. Still the only one I grab.
  16. I don't really have a problem with the new battery. I also don't think it will affect me much. While a new battery is great, I would much prefer some new tools. Milwaukee is on the fast track, bringing out new tools. Makita has so many more. There are alot of small reasons I like DeWalt. Lack of variety of tools is the one thing I don't like. They just seem so slow to come out with new stuff.
  17. Nothing wrong with showing off your tool collection. Or your van for that matter. Makes me want one.
  18. I have a small Kawasaki generator. I think it is only good enough to charge my batteries. I tried it with my table saw and it kept tripping the breaker. I have a large DeWalt generator. It rarely gets used because it's so big. I think battery technology will only continue to evolve. It wasn't really that long ago, a cordless drill was the only thing available. Now I can't even remember the last time I used my corded circular saw. (I do remodeling. If I had more new construction, it would be different.)
  19. I didn't know. I've never even seen one in person. I looked at it online and it didn't even talk about tool-less blade change. It showed a picture of an allen wrench and a storage compartment. Thanks for the clarification.
  20. Maybe I'm oblivious to my surroundings, but I just realized my multi tool is variable speed. It has a trigger. Not a paddle. I've had it about 6 months and I use it about once a week. I probably should have noticed it sooner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You found some good prices on those. I've been watching for a while, but $99.99 is the best I've seen. I'm patient though. This is a tool I will be getting.
  22. Oh, ok, I get it. Your right, only one speed. Truthfully, I never even noticed. It works so good, it's not an issue. At least with what I do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Looks like you have to use an allen screw on the Bosch. While I do like Bosch products, the blade change on DeWalt is great. I will admit, at first I noticed the paddle and wondered if it would be an issue. It's not. At all. It's so good, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm sure you won't go wrong with Bosch either.
  24. Really? I assume you mean the paddle to change blades? That is one part I really like. Of course my other one has a allen screw so it's really not comparable. I'll check out the Bosch.

    Multi tool

Just picked up another 20v multi tool from CPO. Reconditioned, $99.00, bare tool. Website said they had 4, the other day. Should only have 3 now. (reconditioned ones that is) It arrived yesterday. Looks perfect, runs perfect. I gave it to my son, for his truck. Then I needed to use one, so I went out and got his. Poor kid wasn't able to be the first to use the new tool. We've had a few different multi-tools. The DeWalt works so good. Here's a link. Looks like only one left. http://www.cpooutlets.com/factory-reconditioned-dewalt-dcs355br-20v-max-xr-cordless-lithium-ion-brushless-oscillating-multi-tool--bare-tool-/dewrdcs355br,default,pd.html?start=22&q=dewalt%20reconditioned%2020v
